Dino's POV
-
I felt the coach begin to fall.
The feeling of weightlessness is rather hard to explain if you've never experienced it.
Think back to when you were a kid and the car you were in went a little too fast over a bridge.
That feeling you got for perhaps milliseconds, that feeling in your stomach. That is the feeling of weightlessness.
It's not a nice feeling or a bad feeling, it just is.
However when you're plummeting down the side of a cliff in a big metal coffin, I've got to admit the feeling isn't great.
Time appeared to slow as the coach or the metal coffin; I was now calling it, began to fall.
With time slowing my thoughts began to drift and questions began emerging in my mind.
'Would the orphanage be okay after I was gone?'
'Would anyone miss me?'
'Was everyone safe?'
'I wonder if this is how the dinosaurs felt when they saw the meteor about to crash into the Earth?'
It was clear at this point that my thoughts had really began to drift and become somewhat funny but soon the thoughts vanished with the appearance of the first collision.
'BANG!!!!!'
My head hit the roof, blood started to flow from above my right eye.
The next collision came.
'CRASH!!!!'
The coach started to flip and spin.
I was thrown around the metal coffin like a drink in a cocktail shaker.
Surprisingly at this point I was still alive, if not a little dizzy…..
Nahh scratch that, I was very dizzy. Mainly from the spinning but the blood loss wasn't helping.
Several other collisions happened before the metal coffin hit the floor but by this point I was in so much pain, I was numb.
As the coach hit the floor, I realised, that this was it.
A smile broke out on my face.
A smile of happiness.
A smile of peace.
Within seconds of hitting the floor an explosion consumed me and the metal coffin.
I couldn't feel any pain, only release from the world that had cursed me since I was born.
Moments passed.
I was back in the place I'd visited on many occasion but what to call it.
'Death'
'The afterlife'
'The realm in between'
'Purgatory'
Well I had no idea, I just knew it was comfortable.
At this point my eyes or whatever you would call them in the afterlife opened only to see a friendly looking man in front of me with azura coloured eyes, golden hair which appeared to lash out with sparks of lightning and a smile that could light up a universe.
I blinked a few times in confusion, before I figured out who was before me. I decided to clear up any doubt. I was going to ask who he was.
-
Back to current situation.
-
Dino blinked as his eyes adjusted to his environment.
Eyes adjusting he observed his surroundings only to be shocked.
He appeared to be sitting on a huge see through tile which was floating in mid-air above a beautiful mountain range very similar to Mount Everest.
After briefly observing the scenes before him, he focused on the man before him, who still held a smile on his face.
A simple sentence flowed from his mouth.
"Who are you?"
The man smiled.
"So you finally ask?...."
He chuckled to himself before continuing.
"….I guess you can say I'm a god, at least one of them anyway but you can call me Axel."
Dino wanted to be shocked but he'd already figured that much out, well except the name.
"So what am I doing here Axel? If you don't mind me asking?"
Axel looked slightly surprised that Dino hadn't freaked out.
"Well….you're here so I can reward you"
Dino's eyes widened slightly before returning to normal.
"Reward me?"
He asked.
Axel nodded.
"Why?"
Inquired Dino.
"Because you deserve it."
Answered the god.
"But I've nothing to be rewarded for" Dino.
"You haven't?" Axel
"No." Dino
"Well you could have fooled me."
Axel stated taking out a scroll and unrolling it.
"This scroll here is all the good you've done in your world"
Dino looked at the scroll that didn't seem to have an end.
Axel spoke.
"Let's be honest Dino, your life sucked. You died at least 11 times, 10 more that any mortal should experience yet it didn't bother you. Your luck was crap and karma dealt you a terrible hand but instead of crying over it you carried on. But you didn't just carry on you went out and helped other people making their lives better. You helped hundreds, if not thousands of orphans in your life and in your death."
"The orphans you helped went on to make great changes in the world carrying what you'd taught them around with them every day spreading one simple yet powerful message, Hope."
"And that's only one of the smaller things you did, there are countless others. The little things you did for people through your life from writing your books to helping the elderly contributed massively to the world. Your message continued hundreds of years after you had died and helped unify the world. The child you sacrificed yourself for the day of your death went on to become one of the greatest heroes in human history by stopping a war which would have killed millions."
Dino sat there gobsmacked not knowing what to say.
The words Axel had spoken kept whizzing around his mind.
The little things he'd done simply just to help people had made such a massive impact on the world.
Dino began to laugh. A laugh that was between happiness and sadness but one thing one for certain it was a laugh of relief. A smile found its way to his lips as he spoke.
"Well it's nice to know my life amounted to something finally."
"So now you understand why you're here?"
Axel asked. Dino just nodded.
"So you ready to hear about your reward?"
Again Dino just nodded.
Axel smirked.
"Let's get started then."
Axel pulled out another scroll from thin air.
"So your first reward is the chance to reincarnate. Would you like to reincarnate?"
Dino nodded.
Axel smiled then continued.
"Good. Thankfully you didn't say no otherwise our rewards would have been useless."
Dino smirked which Axel didn't miss.
"Your second reward is a system created especially for you by us, the gods."
Dino suddenly shot up onto his feet.
"Seriously? I get a system?"
His questioning tone almost desperate like a child at Christmas, waiting to open their presents.
It was Axel's turn to smirk. He nodded.
"As for your third reward, it's pretty simple, five wishes which you can use to wish for anything you want with... well except the obvious, more wishes"
Dino nodded understanding the third reward but hadn't quite snapped out of shock about his second reward.
"Okay so your last and final reward is spending points for your system. The spending points are the remainder of you karma points converted into system points and trust me when I say there is a lot of them."
A smile and a nod came from Dino and a simple "Thank you" was all he said which caused Axel to smile.
"Its fine, you deserve it kid. In your next life your luck will be excellent so take all the chances life throws at you and the most important thing of all have fun this time around be and do whatever you want."
"Thank you" escaped Dino's mouth again.
Axel nodded before asking.
"You ready to go?"
Dino nodded with a smile, he was ready for his new life.
Axel smiled one last time.
"Well on your way then."
With a click of his fingers Dino was gone.
"Ahahaha what a nice kid, Shame karma was such a bitch to him in his last life."
