Chapter 2 - A fricking craftsman

The young man ignored the two, as he continued until he had made it into the city. He had no interest being a knight, he was here for only one reason a reckless deity being his patron. See he had been taught to forge in his old world by his grandfather, a traditional man who carried on the old ways even though technology was widespread and people were forgetting traditions. He had learned many things from his grandfather, the art of traditional medicine, forging, and some minor martial arts seeing as the temple they lived in used to be a dojo at some point.

He was a odd person if you asked anyone, his face being stuck in a deadpan his whole life, but life wasn't all bad he was well known to the farmers who frequented the temple to pay homage to the guardian deity. It was unfortunate he would be dealt an unfortunate hand by fate, or more accurately the guardian deity had been dealt an unfortunate hand. Thinking over the encounter it was something he could hardly believe.

The supposed deity had lost in a game of cards to the guardian deity of this world and thus he had bet one of his worlds best craftsman.

He wasn't even sure how he qualified, he knew he wasn't anywhere near the top but he was chosen. The deity had apologized many times as he was being taken away, but the kick in the pants was the damn deity had lost even though he was cheating.

Upon entering this world he was given the heavenly craftsman system and to make the deal a bit sweeter the deity had given him control of the elements to make sure he survived to do what he needed him to do. Now why would someone like him be chosen he didn't know but there was no turning back now, he made sure to curse the heavens twice daily though.

Sighing he looked at his humble abode it had the necessities to do the two things he was meant to do here, make weapons and make medicine.

"Wow how can someone so skilled live in such a dump" turning around he saw the father and daughter duo staring at his house with exaggerated pity in their eyes

"Beat it" said the young man as he walked in and slammed his door before it fell off his hinges thus returning to an open state.

'Oh heavens I long for the day where I make something strong enough to cut you down' thought the deadpan young man. He had almost forgotten to curse the heavens.

"How do you live like this" asked the girl looking around

Keep in mind his place wasn't a mess but it was damn near condemned.

"I agree how can you stand this young man" asked the middle aged man

"I have no choice" said the young man meanwhile cursing the heavens a third time.

"Well you know you can fix this by becoming a knight" said the man

"I can't" said the young man

"Why not" asked the girl

"I am only hear to be a craftsman" said the young man cursing the heavens a fourth time until thunder rumbled in the sky

He knew not to push his luck so he stopped mid curse.

"It's such a waste of such raw talent, your lightning pierced all the way through my armor" said the man

"That's because your armor is trash, it may look pretty but its actual applicability is pathetic" said the young man face still in a deadpan.

The father and daughter duo listened to the words in shock, they couldn't believe the audacity of this young man.

"Try this" said the young man tossing the man a different armor

Amazed by the light weight the man looked hesitant but he tried it anyways surprised by the flexibility. He soon found himself struck in the chest again with more force being sent flying into the opposing building.

"See not a mark" said the young man staring at where he struck.

The daughter was staring at this young man like he was crazy, who just randomly strikes people with lightning.

The young man noticed the sky rumbled and wondered what he had done that time unaware of the girls thoughts.

The man had walked back to the young mans house in awe, he would try and say it was a scam but he felt the increase in force behind the hit and just as he said there was no mark on the armor. He needed this young man in his Knights association whether as a knight or a craftsman.

"So how about joining my association, not as a knight mind but a craftsman" asked the middle aged man

"I wish I could but I can't" said the young man glaring at the sky hatefully.

"Why is that" asked the girl confused

"Because I am supposed to be a fricking craftsman, I have to make these wares available to all wish to purchase or commission something" said the young man

"How's that going so far" asked the man

"Pretty shitty, how am I supposed to draw people to this dump" stated the young man

The duo nodded and smiled thinking he was getting the point.

"So you want the armor or what" asked the young man

The two almost spat blood.

"Certainly you realize the opportunity this is for you" asked the man

"I told you I want to, but I can't" said the young man thinking about how much easier it would be to work for these people but the fricking system making him work his way from the bottom.
