Harry went back to his apartment that was full or Doritos packets on the ground. He opened his fridge and took the last Monster energy drink he had left. He looked at his apartment sadly, this would be the last time he would ever see this place. He looked at the picture of the hot biker girl he jerked off to everyday on the wall next to his bed. He felt guilty, he didn't even know her name.
Harry opened the black bag he had in his hand, and slowly started to pick up the trash that had accumulated over the years. He normally would never clean his room, but he did it today because the owner threatened to fine him if he didn't clean it. As he was picking up the garbage from the ground, he caught sight of a letter. He picked it up and looked at it in melancholy. It was the letter or rejection from the Johnson Company, he had applied for an internship but the harshly rejected him. Earlier this year he had tried to get an interview but he they never even gave him a chance.
He was going back home on this day. He packet his clothes, and said his final goodbyes to the apartment he called home.
Harry took the bus to the train station, then took the train home. He was going to a small city called Burfront. It had a population of abour 50,000 people, but they had many car factories there so many people had jobs. Harry's father, Simon was the manager of one of these factories. So Harry and his family lived a comfortable life, they weren't rich, but they had everything they needed.
Harry arrived at his house after taking the bus from the train station and walking home. He had only come back once during his time in college, not because he couldn't afford to go home, he just didn't want to. He took the elevator to up to the sixth floor, and walked to apartment 607 at the end of the hall. He knocked at the door, and waited silently. He heard hurried footsteps, then he door was opened. He saw his mother, who was much shorter than himself look up at him with surprise.
"Harry! You're finally here! What took you so long? Come, come! Hurry, food's ready!" His mother quickly pushed him into the house, made him take off his jacket and shoes and lead him to the kitchen he was so familiar, but estranged to at the same time. The walls were repainted, now to an earthy yellow, it was quite disgusting honestly. Harry preferred the original dark blue, but he wasn't going to argue with his mother about some walls, he was going to be out of here soon anyways,
"Look everyone! Harry's here!" His mother announced loudly, and pulled out another plate for him. The family wasn't expecting Harry to come back. He wasn't one to communicate with people very often. To them, he had showed up out of the blue.
"I graduated." Harry said plainly, pulling out his certificate from his bag. He handed it to his father.
"I'm very proud of you son! You got any jobs ready? I'm sure I can hook you up with something in the factory! I've got you set!" His father's eyes gleamed with happiness.
"I've already got a job." Harry said disinterested as he ate. His brother, Steve was looking at him with surprise. He didn't think this loser would actually achieve something in life.
"Oh really! Well that's great! A man has to live on his own." His father gave a hearty laugh. "So, what's the job, does it pay well?"
"It's not bad." Harry replied without even looking at his father.
"Say, how long will you be staying this time Harry?" His mother interjected, hoping to speak with the son she hadn't seen a year.
"I'm leaving today. I just stopped by to say, it was on the way." Harry kept filling his stomach. He picked up the spoon and poured himself more food.
"Oh, that's a shame." His mother looked downcast, disappointed at the fact that she couldn't even talk to her son properly.
"So? What's the job, who hired you?" Steve asked disdainfully, not fully believing the fact that someone actually hired this fat loser.
"Fargo."
"Fargo? What's that? Some kind of toy company? Do they need you design some dolls for them?"
"A hunting company."
The family turned quiet, clearly surprised. If Harry was going to a hunting company, he would either be a hunter, which would be bad because it is a dangerous job, or he would be a genetic engineer, which wouldn't make sense since Harry didn't major in genetic engineer, he majored in normal engineering.
"Haha, I see, you're gonna help them build some machines for their work right? Haha, Harry you scared me!" Harry's mother hoped for the best.
"I'm gonna be a hunter." Harry looked at his mother with his dead eyes. His mouth was dirty since he was pouring food into his mouth.
" I told you to give up that crazy dream!" Harry's father stood up and yelled.
"I'm leaving." Harry stood up and walked towards the door.
"You're not going anywhere mister! Not until you tell me what you're doing! You disappear for a year, then suddenly come back and say we wasted our hard earned cash for nothing!" Harry's father grabbed Harry's arm and tried to stop him from leaving. But Harry was much stronger and pushed his father away. He put on his jacket and his fedora, picked up his luggage, open the door and left.
"You crazy bastard! You're no son mine! Get off me Linda! He'll get himself killed! Then let's see if anyone ever cared about him!" Harry could hear his father yelling angrily inside his house. He understood why his father was so mad. "What if he becomes a freak! Like the other hunters!" his brother yelled, egging on his father's rage. Harry into the elevator and left. This was probably the last time he would see his family. But he didn't really mind.
