New Sanders is the type of place people talk about in stories to scare their children, where spooky ghosts and serial killers run wild. Though that wasn't too far from the truth, New Sanders was still a quaint place. It bordered the Wildlands, and was constantly under attack from monsters, but thanks to the many Hunter companies, it was still relatively safe.
The city was said to be named after a famous orator, who fought for equality for all. But others argue it was a mistake, and the name has been changed after the many times the city had been ravaged. Some believed the founder of the city was the legendary hero, Sandler.
The Fargo Company was located in this city. A rather generic place for a new company, as it was the founding city of the Johnson Company. It was said that the founder of the Johnson Company, Johnny James Johnson, was an extremely handsome man. He could fight twenty men in a brawl, and beat them down without so much as sweating. He could punch at the speed that would break the sound barrier. He had a hawk's vision, and he could hear a needle fall in a crowded room. He was one of the most legendary heroes of recent times, but some said that his tales were exaggerated after five generations. Johnny James Johnson was Harry's hero, he aspired to be a great hunter just like Johnny.
Harry walked to Cantaloupe Street, where Fargo was located. The short, buzz cut man, and the lanky, black fellow were in close proximity. It seemed they were headed to the same destination. The company was about a 25 minute walk away from the train station. Harry would have taken a cab in any other situation, but he wanted to act tough to show off in his new job, and he also wanted to get to know the city, since he arrived early anyways. On his way he saw a shop with a neon sign, "Anime Waifu Pillows" seemed to be one of their selling points. Harry marked down the location and remembered to go back some time to indulge himself.
After reaching an intersection, the black fellow turned left, while Harry and buzz cut continued forward in silence. Harry was relieved, he was scared the black man was going to follow him all the way. Harry was very scared of getting robbed, if there was one thing his dad taught him, it was to always watch out for tall black men. Harry waited for the light to turn green, and right before it did he saw a red flash, a gust of wind almost knocked him out. He looked back and saw a buff lad, with a pretty girl next to him in the car. It seemed to be some kind of foreign sports car. Harry felt jealous and enraged. Not only did he almost die, his (almost) killer was a handsome man with a hottie. Harry continued walking, this time with more caution, who knew what kind of psychopath would kill him next time.
He got to the building with a large sign that read "Fargo Company Co." Harry walked into reception with buzz cut next to him. They looked like a real dynamic duo. The Fargo Company building wasn't something you would call grandiose, but it certainly wasn't shabby like the rest of New Sanders. The receptionist looked at the two men, and then looked away.
"Excuse me, we're the new Hunters." said Harry. But the cold woman simply scoffed and went back to playing on her phone.
"I said we're the new Hunters." Harry repeated himself, as if that would make her care more. She looked up indignantly. "Give me like, five minutes." She finally responded.
She made a call, then a second and a third. After a total of six calls, someone came down the elevator to welcome Harry and buzz cut. "Sorry for the wait, I'm Jasper Dale head of human resources. You must be Paul and Aidil." A man in a purple suit appeared with a smile, he held his hand out, and gave the two men a firm handshake.
"Actually I...." Harry tried to offer an introduction but was swiftly interrupted by Jasper. "Welcome men, please follow me to the elevator, we'll be going to the third floor. That's the staff area, you probably won't be going back there any time soon, since you're both Hunters you'll mostly spend your time in the second floor, which is the missions floor, and the fourth floor, which is the meeting room. You'll probably, occasionally go to the basement, which is the development floor, but really all you have to do is collect your equipment from second floor when you're dispatched."
Seeing that the man had finished his long rant Harry tried to offer an introduction again. "Ex..." The elevator stopped and Jasper announced their arrival. "We're here, welcome to the staff floor, as you could probably imagine this floor is where all the staff works. Over there is the marketing team, finance, logistics, and over there is where I work, human resources." Jasper quickly walked towards the human resources department and continued his explanation. "If you're wondering why the floors are all named exactly their function, that's because the CEO is an extremely efficient man. You probably know him since your joining our company, but Jerome Walters was a great Hunter that retired a while ago. In the peak of his career they nicknamed him Fargo. I never really understood the name or its significance, but it's a great name. Anyways, here we are."
'Time seems to fly when this Jasper guy talked. Maybe he had a skill to manipulate time, or bend space. But why would such a strong fellow work for human resources?'
"Now if you boys would please sign these forms. I still have things to do, so when you're done just give them to this guy over. You can call him Ben." Jasper handed them a form and walked away. He pulled out his flip phone, didn't know people still used those, and swiftly began to rant at the other person on the line.
