Henri nodded in answer towards Altos bizarre question.
Why would it be weird to have more? Obviously Henri did not know that other people had immense trouble in capturing Spirit beasts due to them generally being unruly and unwilling to listen to a humans commands.
It was a shame that Henri wasn't necessarily a normal human, and thus she did not have any trouble at all in getting spirit beasts to submit to her and heed her commands.
When a person subdues a Spirit Beast they can be stored within a special type of Soul Gem.
People generally refer to them as Beast Soul Gems when selling them.
Alto did not know what to say now.
Should he inquire further, and ask just how many Spirit beasts this kid had on him?
But that would be abit too rude, wouldn't it?
"So I am guessing you dont want to push through the night? That's fine this isnt my convoy of carriages anyway to begin with." Releasing a heavy sigh Henri looked up at the man across from her.
Why is he just staring at her like a dead fish?
Sensing just how awkward this man seemed to be Henri decided to introduce a change of topic to try and dispel the awkward air currently between the two of them.
" So, where is your estate located?" Asked Henri as she began to pick at her thumbnail in what seemed as boredom.
Alto stared at Henri with a blank look on his face.
Why did he always feel like he was the child in this carriage?
Henri looked up from her hand, and glanced at Alto with a tired look on her face.
Was this guy dropped alot when he was a kid?
Why is he so awkward?
" Your kind of an awkward guy to talk to, you know?" Henri said.
A tinge of mischief flashed through her golden eyes before quickly dispersing as if it was never there to begin with at all.
" Uhh.. I'm sorry?" Not knowing what else to say, Alto replied with a rather dumb look on his face.
Sighing Henri said " Forget it. We just met, I was being rude. Forgive me."
The rest of the day seemingly passed in a awkward silence.
Once dusk had approached, the carriage began to gradually slow down.
Saviens beautiful face appeared outside the carriage window.
Too bad there was a little frown on it.
Henri sighed upon seeing the expression on Saviens face.
It looked like she was unhappy about something.
Alto didnt seem to notice Savien until he opened the carriage door and smacked it into her.
"What the... oh your friend is here it seems." Alto said as a little blush appeared on his face from such an embarrassing thing happening.
" Master." Savien said as she half curtsied before standing back up again to extend her hand to help Henri out of the carriage.
Alto thought It was kind of odd for a maid to help their young master out of a carriage but thought better about voicing out his opinions.
Afterall, he just met these people. he didnt want to make any bad impressions.
Henri accepted Saviens hand with a grateful smile that could melt ice cold snowdrifts.
After carefully alighting from the carriage, Henri brushed herself off.
' Is my carriage that dirty?' Alto thought to himself.
"How was the road for you and Marie? Any mishaps I should be informed about?" Henri stated as she finished brushing the invisible dirt off herself.
Savien briefly glanced in Altos direction as he exited the carriage, before returning her gaze to Henri and answering "Nothing we couldn't handle, Marie and I captured the following Spirit Beasts, two Suntailed Squirrels, an Blue-Bellied Suntail Hook Wing, and what appeared to be a Mixed Sunhowler."
"A Sunhowler? Very good. And about the monsters... did you store the valuable pieces?" Asked Henri as she saw that Zeriff was fastly approaching their position.
Savien replied "Ah yes, four lesser goblins, and a few Demonic Jargowatts attacked but they were unimpressive to say the least."
Before Henri had to prompt her again, Savien realized she didnt answer Henris question and quickly added "Oh and yes, Marie stored them in a Timer Stasus bag, they should be good for a week in there."
"Very good. I'm in a good mood now. Thankyou Savien. Say, shouldn't Marie be with you? Where might she be?" Henri asked as she swept her eyes around, looking for her little companion.
"Ah shes-" Savien was about to answer Henris question when she got interrupted by Zeriff coming over to them and beginning to converse with Alto.
" Ah there you are Alto! Comfortable journey so far? Eh? Just kidding!" Zeriff chortled a bit before continuing. " All the other merchants have woken up and the rest of the guards as well. They are quite infirm at the moment. I think they could use some of your cheering up. Oh and about the sleeping preparations..." Zeriff said as he briefly glanced at Savien, and then at Henri for a split second before continuing on with Alto.
" I think we need to set some ground rules with the rest of the guys seeing as theres womenfolk with us. I'm not to worried about it, but I think it'd be best to put our new friends all in old Ramos's sleeping tent."
The men with them were no idoits, but they didn't see how Henri and her 'servants' fought earlier. He didnt want them to get to riled up and do something stupid...
