'Damn this kid has some deep thoughts' Uncle Zeriff complained to himself internally.
"So what do you propose we do?" Uncle Zeriff asked Henri not actually expecting the kid to have a reasonable answer at the ready.
"Well what would I personally do? Or what would be the most rational and least time consuming?" Henri inquired.
Uncle Zeriff: "..."
Damien is just standing there awkwardly while receiving stinging glares periodically from Marie's direction.
Savien seeing that the atmosphere was becoming rather awkward, decided to step in and speed things along in the process.
Leaning closer towards Uncle Zeriff, Savien says with a slightly flushed face "Why don't we just burn them in a mass funeral pyre and collect the ashes afterwards to give one to each family."
Henri gave Savien a weird look at this suggestion, while tilting her head slightly to the side.
Didn't she want to eat the dead bodies? Savien couldn't get anything from ashes.
Savien covertly slipped one of her hands into her aprons front pocket and back out, revealing a glittering soul gem at an angle so that only Henri could make it out.
Recognition flashed through Henris eyes and she ever so slightly nodded her head once in confirmation that she indeed understood Savien.
"That is indeed a good idea Savien!" Marie chipped in, after seeing what she thought was Henris nod of approval.
Uncle Zeriff thought it was a bit barbaric to just burn all of them, it's not like this was a battlefield. However he saw that all of their saviors party agreed so it'd be 2 against 3 if he voiced out his objection.
"Very well I suppose we can do what you all suggest." Uncle Zeriff grumbles out a bit apprehensively. It's not like he couldn't force his way, but after all, this was a woman and children. He was a person who believed in civility and chivalric behavior. He would never stoop so low as to try and do something of that sort.
Hearing these words Savien immediately zips to the guard's corpses and begins to sort them from the dead bandits.
Which wouldn't be hard considering there was only a handful of dead bandits.
Uncle Zeriff seeing the white haired maid with a poofy frilly white apron begin to touch dead bodies, quickly loses his cool.
It's one thing for a maid to know magic, but it's a whole other affair for them to touch dead bodies of non-blood related males!
Uncle Zeriff shoots his Nephew Damien a look as if to say 'Dont just stand there do it instead.'.
He knew his nephew needed to man up a bit. He would probably start growing a peach fuzz caterpillar of his own within the next few years.
Damien seeing his Uncle throw him a look, immediately wanders over to Saviens side before clearing his still pre-pubescent throat.
"Ihhmm, Miss would you mind leaving it to me and my Uncle. Afterall a woman shouldn't be so overly familiar with male strangers." Damien says trying to coax Savien to put down a guards arm that was currently being added to a growing pile of bodirs and their respective detached partners.
Savien just looks at him, and for a split second her disdain showing in her copper colored eyes before it quickly disappears to be replaced by a look of feminine appreciation.
Henri looked him with at the two 'men' do their act.
A subtle smirk appeared on her face. She then proceeded to walk over to the dead beast that had been summoned earlier, and gaze upon it.
"A spiritual beast at the 2nd level of Starter Stage. Not very powerful level and stage wise but still a mediocre spirit beast. It to would be foolishly naive to think bandits of this caliber would be able to capture one of these for personal use." Henri said, while scoffing at the absurd idea of it.
"Marie, please take all the valuable parts off of it, too many minutes have passed to use spirit infusion to revive it properly." Henri spoke as she looked towards Marie who was still glaring at Damien and gave her an order.
Marie whipped her head around to look at Henri, and a beautiful smile bloomed on her face like a flower in the sunshine.
"Right away Henri!" Marie said with a shy giggle as she went over to the beast and pulled a dagger out of the bottom of her dress, and began to process the beast.
This exchange of orders didn't miss Zeriff's eye, as he had just begun to try and awaken the unconscious members of his party.
Savien had stopped playing with the dead bodies already and had already successfully covertly sucked the remaining energy out of the dead bodies into a modified Soul Gem.
Savien wasn't just an ordinary maid afterall, she was in fact a bloodthirsty ghoul.
Ghouls get their energy from consuming the dead, preferably dead humans if at all possible, but if not possible, energy from any dead living beings can usually stave off starvation. But it is extremely unhealthy for ghouls to consume dead plants. In some cases, they can get severely sick and even perish as a result.
How do dead bodies still have energy you ask? Well the recently deceased will still usually have some living cells within their body, and through magic or consumption, a ghoul can absorb the energy from these cells for themselves.
Almost like a vampire, but not quite.
