Henri looked at Marie who was now holding her hand as if it was a bar of gold.
Is it just her? Or is Marie acting strange...
Must have been Karshas influence Henri thought to herself shaking her head slightly to clear it away.
"Henri you just fought those big bad hu- I mean men. You even have a bruise on your hand. You should rest them for a while." Marie said pleasingly, leaning herself closer to Henri with a aggrieved look on her pearl like face.
"You think so? I guess I should rest them... They are somewhat important to me afterall." Henri said hesitantly at first before deciding it was indeed the right choice.
Meanwhile Damien still had his hand hanging around in the air for a handshake for a full minute looking like a complete loser.
Damien vaguely was beginning to get the feeling that this girl named Marie didn't like it.
Could it just be his imagination? Further observations were needed.
Savien was trying hard to keep a pleasant motherly expression plastered across her lovely womanly face.
She wanted so bad to just bust out in maniacal laughter but she had to act like a proper maid servant would. For Henri's sake.
Zeriff had turned his gaze to the pretty and calm white haired woman next to him.
Savien noticed an additional gaze on her but she didn't consider humans anything but cockroaches so she simply thought of him like a bug crawling out of a crack to gaze upon a large predator. Wondering if Henri would chastise her if she went and only took a nibble, from a few of them.
Zeriff noticed her head turn towards the fallen guards and the restrained and conflicted expression that had appeared on her face after staring at them.
He normally assumed that such a woman would feel unnerved at looking at dead bodies, and sidled over to her side to try and consul her.
Damien had just lowered his hand when Henri turned his focus back onto him. Those golden eyes seemed to take his breath away. Making him wonder if maybe Henri was actually a girl? He started to look her up and down, which didn't escape Marie's notice.
Not. One. Bit.
She must protect her precious friend. Yes she was only protecting her friend. That was what she kept telling herself as she scooted closer to Henri now practically stepping on her toes.
Henri noticed Marie's odd behavior but thought it'd be rude to not formally introduce herself as well.
Taking her bruised hand out of Marie's grasp, she introduced herself to Damien.
"A pleasure to meet you, my name is Henri Fallen. A pleasure to meet you."
Damien didn't miss the last name Fallen, which indicates the child before him was saying they are from a once well to do family.
People who introduce themselves with the last name Fallen are legally from people from Fallen Noble, Royal, and sometimes higher up Merchant families that have usually fallen completely, or have hit very hard times in the last 45 years.
Henri was basically stating she is from a good background but with no familial power to back her.
Damien just continues to smile at her trying to bring up the courage to ask if she is a boy or not.
Seeing her up close she actually looks very pretty. Damien didn't know that he had unconsciously stepped one more step closer, and even leaned in a bit.
"Are you alright?" Henri asked with general concern.
"Are you a boy?" Damien blurted out nervously.
Henri flinched a little from that question. Should she cut her hair a little more? She thought she passed for a boy very nicely at the moment. But then this boy just had to get in her face and ask about her gender.
That flinch didn't escape Marie's observation and she immediately turned towards Damien and began to glare daggers him like he had murdered her whole family.
"I am indeed a boy, young master Damien is very observant." Henri concluded as she tried to steer the conversation away from herself.
Seeing Savien trying to fend off Uncle Zeriffs chivalrous actions in the distance, Henri decided to try and wrap their involvement with these people up.
"Do you think your Uncle Zeriff will give us a reward for helping you all?" Henri threw this question to Damien who was stood in front of her somewhat awkwardly.
Coming to his senses, Damien replied "I'm sure he would reward you guys, a thought it might not actually be alot in comparison to what you did." Damein said shyly as he still felt embarrased from calling out Henri's gender.
"It would be nice if were properly rewarded." Marie said butting herself into their conversation.
Henri glanced at Marie, as if questioning something.
