1st year, 1st month, 11th day
The morning, when Iris woke up and saw Jin still sleeping she felt it was weird. Normally, when she woke up, Jin was always looking at the map and thinking what to do next.
She didn't put more thought into it as she looked at the map of the dungeon to be sure that there wasn't any ennemies in the dungeon.
She looked at the first floor, everything was the same and the villagers were all working in the mine.
The second floor, the monsters were all wandering the labyrinth without any problems. As for the minotaur, he was staying in the hall at the center of the floor.
The third floor, where they were situated at was still calm. There wasn't any changes in the ghosts or the shadows.
As for the fourth floor...
"Wait the fourth floor? We just did the third one yesterday!"
Iris got surprised enough that she couldn't keep her voice down and at the same time she unintentionally woke up Jin who was still sleeping.
She wanted to express her excuses however the moment she turned to look at him she couldn't help but laugh out loud.
Normally, since he was the one who got up the first she had never seen him in such a state. With his hair all messed up because of the sleep and the dropping eyes showing that he was still half asleep made his appearance really majestic... or not.
One more thing. Since he still couldn't adapt properly to his demons transformation, every time he went to sleep, his transformation resurface and the hidden parts like the scales on his arms and the longer nails would show up once again no matter what.
With all of this mixed together, Jin had a face that couldn't be taken seriously especially with the drool on the right side of his mouth.
"What?"
"Oh? No nothing." She still couldn't stop laughing every time she looked at him which annoyed Jin a lot.
"What is it?"
"A majestic look you have right now..."
Hearing these words made Jon conscient of his own appearance and he could only understand what she meant before he went to the fourth floor he had created the previous night to take a shower.
And as nothing happened during this time, after taking his shower, Jin showed the new floor to Iris.
————————————
At this time with the villagers on the first floor, they had finally finished making pickaxes in metal and the weapons for the hunters to strengthen them. But, even with fully equipping them, they still had a few dozens extra weapons to trade with other villages.
In this world of sword and magic, the equipment which were the staff for the magicians, the sword for the swordsman, the heavy armour for the guards, the shield, robes, normal clothing for their daily lives and much more were divided in tiers. It was the same for some magical items like the summoning tokens, the life saving talisman and others.
These tiers were from tier 0 to tier 20. Of course, tier 0 being the weakest one and tier 20 the strongest.
These items would help everyone going from the normal civilian to the king by passing through the warriors and magicians.
The higher the tier of the item, the stronger it would be which would strengthen the person having the item in question.
And of course, the items made of metal created by the villagers were tier one. Their previous items like the bow made of wood and their swords of wood were even weaker being tier zero. It wasn't even called a weapon as the damage caused by it was almost non-existant.
Thanks to the dungeon they had discovered, they had been able to create tier one weapon which in exchange would strengthen their village. It was also the reason they were sure that the other villages would trade with them as becoming stronger was the goal of everyone in the wilderness. As such, they wouldn't abandon the chance to get a better weapon for themselves.
Theses tier were also the reason the dungeons were highly sought after especially the bigger ones as they would normally possess richer materials.
These materials could be seen in different form starting from rare ores in the walls of the dungeons higher floors. Herbs that could be found in the dungeon which would be useful for alchemist to create potions. Monster materials like horns from a minotaur (a real one), claw of a dragon which could be transformed in a sword, or even the dark powder of the undead which could be used to make poison and the bones of the undead which were used in summoning magic.
Every items had their own uses but the item sought the most by the adventurers were treasure chests. Yes, treasure chests. They were popular in dungeons as they were used to bring more people to enter the dungeon as a mean of getting more GP.
In those chests, sometimes there would be a certain weapon which could be of a high grade and in other cases it would be a magic item or a few potions in them. There were almost no wrong choice when putting items in treasure chests as it would one way or another awake greed in the adventurers and they would all go in to try their own luck.
Luckily, the dungeons were producing GP which would then be able to be exchanged for weapons or items. In the 'catalogue' of the dungeon core when buying items, there was practically everything one would want.
Even weapons of grade 20 could be found there. They were mythical tier weapons! But, of course, the price would be equally high. He had looked once and the price had so many zero in it that he couldn't count them all. But, it was normal as there would be no happiness at having a mythical tiers swords if one could get it easily by the dungeon.
Those legendary weapons had never been seen before and even if one had one, they wouldn't go public with it has a lot of people would envy him and some would try to steal or even kill him for his sword.
Back to the villagers.
As the hunters were discussing with the chief about the tier one weapon that their artisans had forged, they were really excited. Not only to go trade weapons but also to show off their own equipment.
"Chief? How much food should we exchange for a single sword?"
For the moment, the artisans had only made swords in order to maximise their times as it would take them more practise time to create arrows, dagger, axes and armour.
"Erm? Ask them for salted meat, fruits or vegetables. I don't have an exact price however remember that they will do their most to take advantage of you so in other words, no matter which price they give you have to at least double it as they will try to diminish the real value of the weapons we offer them."
The chief replied with a grin as he was almost able to see the look on the other village's chief when they would see the hunter's armed with metal weapons.
"Yea chief! We will be going now!"
Shortly after, they took their leave with the extra weapons and went for the village closest to them.
The other village were most likely still unaware that their entire village had moved to another location in this last week. As such, they did their best not to leave any tracks on where they went in order to keep their base hidden for a while longer.
"Hey, Gray? We should talk with the chief to create a defensive position in the entrance of the dungeon in order to protect the tribe from the other village who will want to occupy the dungeon in the future."
"Yes, it's a good idea let's talk about it when we return."
A few hours later, as the sun reached it's peak in the sky, the hunter's finally arrived in the village closest to them.
"Stop right there! State your business!" This village was completely different than their ancient village as there were walls surrounding the village and people protecting the walls most likely against the undeads that were roaming the forest.
"We came here to discuss with your chief about selling metal weapons." The hunters all had a proud look as they flashed their own weapons at the person standing guard.
"Wait a moment, please." The guard didn't dare to be slow as he went to their chief's housing in order to report the situation.
A few moment later, the guard came back with others which were probably the other guards and the village chief.
"Welcome! Welcome! You are from ox's village am I right? I heard you came here in order to exchange metal weapons?" He couldn't help but take a look at their sword hanging from their waist.
"Yes we came here in order to trade them for food. However, I'm afraid that we cannot stay here for very long as we still have to make our way back before the sun sets. So, we hope that we can make a fast deal."
The hunter explained the situation as they didn't want to be invited by this other village who always had thought of being stronger than the others.
"Yes, yes! I understand and I had already figured that you were in a hurry as such, I already prepared food to exchange for it. It was food you wanted right?" The chief had a know it all expression on his face as he was proud of himself for having prepared everything already.
"You are totally right! We have here ten swords of metal of tier one to sell to you. You can make your offer."
"We will offer you a cart worth of salted food in exchange for the ten swords." The chief's grinned as he was certain that these hunters would accept without any complaints as he believed that they didn't know the true value of the swords they possessed.
"Two carts." The hunter didn't complicate anything and just asked for the double like his chief had told him too.
The guards and their chief had a grim expression as the hunters had dared to bargain with them. However, they could only grit their teeth's in silence as they truly needed the swords.
"... Fine." The chief tough for a while before having one of the guards go get another cart of food to exchange with them.
It didn't take too long before the cart of food was in front of them. The hunter's didn't wait for them, they gave the swords and left with the two carts as fast as they had arrived.
"Go and follow them discreetly. We have to know were they got the ores to make the swords."
"Yes!"
With a spy following them, the hunters made their way back to the dungeon and they entered as fast as they could with the two carts.
Upon arriving, they saw that some of the men who had stayed in the cave were actually building a wall of wood and dirt to protect the entrance to the dungeon.
"Ha! Gray, it would seem they were faster than us!" The hunter laughed as his idea of making a wall to protect the dungeon had also been tough by the chief who was giving directions to the team in charge of building.
"Here chief, two carts worth of salted food."
"Perfect! You guys go help the team in charge of building the wall, I am sure that they have sent someone to spy on you and have discovered the entrance of the dungeon by now. We have to protect it against their future attack."
"Chief? If they really make it pass the entrance, couldn't we just lead them to the second floor and let the skeletons deal with them instead?"
This way of thinking made their chief who was looking grim have a smile appear on his face.
"Yes! Good idea! This way we can even protect every single person!"
