Before Saving lives, Lin Yuan needs to find lives to save .His first destination was his hometown West River City.
The city lord Lin Fang has a lot competitors , rivals and enemies. All of them know that the son of the city lord was not a cultivator which makes him an easy target to take revenge on the city lord or exort some money from him. So since his birth Lin Yuan received a lot of assassination attempts , kidnapping attempts .
Since then, His father arranged four guards to follow him around , the four guards were four 'E+' rank cultivators.
Once Lin Yuan went out of his room and exited the City lord mansion which is also known as the Lin House . The four guards job was always to stand guard at the mansion waiting the young master to exit so they can follow beside him and protect him. when the four of them saw Lin Yuan,they bowed and greeted him : "Greetings, Young Master."
They were wearing Scaled armours , this type of armours is consisted of small platelets known as "lames" which are made from the D rank fire Lizard scales that were lacquered and laced together into armour strips .
Lin Yuan simply nodded at them saying "Hi , Everyone!" and continued walking .
The four guards quickly followed him .
"I want to take a stroll in the City." Lin Yuan told his guards .
"yes young master" a guard said as he went to prepare the carriage.
West River City as the name suggests was located at the west side of the True Dragon River.
Ancients usually built cities near water resources so they can water their plants easily and so was West River City built a thousands of years ago.all farmers needed their farm to be near the water source . because of that the city was built in a way that the extremities of the city were too far apart. However ,for a cultivator this was not a big problem as they can easily traverse this distance in minutes .
Lin Yuan was different , He has a weak constitution since birth and a carriage was required to stroll in the city .
The guard didn't take much time to bring a coach , a coach is a large four wheeled carriage with two Black horse drawing it . one of the guards took the coachman's position .
Another guard open the coach's door as he helped Lin Yuan gets in then went back to ride his horse .
"Let's go the market" Lin Yuan's voice echoed from inside the coach.
"yes." the guard who took the coachman position replied .and headed toward the market as the other three guard followed them closely behind .
Lin Yuan decided to check bustling area where there might be something that can help him finishing his mission.
The coach didn't take long before it arrived at an open wide area , there were many shops .
although , the guards were patrolling this area ,there was nothing they can do to put this place in order due to the huge number of people with different backgrounds.
All type of people could be seen. rich and poor , young and old , men and women .Lin Yuan noticed that there was a lot of people hiding their foreheads as well. From what he remembered , slaves are branded with burning marks on their foreheads.
Suddenly , Lin Yuan thought of something
"Freeing slaves should be considered saving lives." Lin Yuan thought i his heart .
the system has a quick water splashing reaction as it immediately denied Lin Yuan proposition .
"Freeing Slaves isn't always the same as saving their lives."
the system's quick rejection made Lin Yuan worried , because he couldn't think a fast way to complete the mission .
Just as Lin Yuan was wondering about his next destination .a loud voice echoed in the nearby : "catch that bastard !! catch the thief!" .
Lin Yuan wasn't capable of seeing what's happening outside his carriage , He could only ask the guards : "what happened ?".
"a shop owner is beating a thief." the guard replied with indifference as if the life of thief was a trivial matter .
hearing his words Lin Yuan didn't care much , in modern days beating a thief in a market seems normal . All people thinks that the thief deserves that beating .
As the carriage continued moving , Lin Yuan was capable of seeing the scene , a middle aged man with big mustache was beating the so called thief .
The thief was a ten years old boy , He was wearing ragged clothes and his fasciale wasn't clear because of how much of a beating did he takes on his face .
Lin Yuan didn't mind if the show owner was beating a grown thief. However, He can't simply let them almost beat a kid to death for stealing something .so he quickly stepped out of the carriage and yelled at the shop owner to stop .
"Stop !" Yelled Lin Yuan .
" it's not your business." the shop owner didn't stop his action as he replied to Lin Yuan .
"What did he do ??" questioned Lin Yuan.
