Sharwalk was a village located in the south of Noya city, within Noya district. The entire village was fenced, with glass walls. On top of it was a dome-shaped purply light, preventing anyone from coming in from the top. That meant that people had to use the main gate which was made of large and tall iron. At this time, it was open giving way to a long road which led to a smaller but beautifully crafted gate. The sides of the road were a knot of verdant trees preventing anyone from seeing beyond them.
A flying car landed before the open gate and was driven on the one-kilometer road to the other gate. At the gate where the road ended, two men in white robes peeped through the car window and upon seeing the occupant, they nodded in reverence. They opened the purple glass gate before the car was driven in, to a large opening where similar cars were parked. Anna then got out of the vehicle and rushed towards a certain direction.
The village was made of similar white flat-roofed buildings amidst thick vegetation giving it a cool and a slightly chill atmosphere. The sky was purple due to the barrier on top of it. It was mostly quiet, with few people walking in the streets. Anna took a tarmacked path which led to a small street. The streets were relatively small since only people used them. The street she took led to a temple at the heart of the village. It was the only different and the largest building. Along the way, women curtsied and men bowed when they saw her, what she only nodded to slightly. Those who were in her way jumped to the sides.
She reached the temple in few minutes. Inside, she ran to a small room which had its entire floor spread with a baroque mat. The room had small windows arched at the top on the wall just opposite the door she had entered in. The windows threw in the morning light of the sun, giving the room the requisite lighting.
On the mat sat a woman. She was in a black robe and a light piece of cloth covered her entire head, overlapping on her chest. Her face which was barely visible under the cloth was wrinkled, telling her age which had to be in the late sixties. "My daughter, why are you in such a hurry?" Her coarse voice filled the room.
"Grandaunt, I received a prophecy. The mage may be in danger." Anna sat cross-legged on the mat, across the old lady.
"What prophecy?" The old woman looked at her with eyes that twinkled below the light that came to the room.
"Yesterday night, while in my school, I saw a vision. I had just succeeded in freeing the mage from the love spell. In the vision, I saw a rain of fire which killed people by plucking their heads. Then a message came, and it said, 'The Celestial Witch's harvest time is here. If the mark is not removed from him, child, his freedom will be for naught. If he dies, Woodland dies with him'."
"Where is the mage right now?"
"He has been taken to Oliland, in the lands of the walks by one of their messengers. I asked him to take him to their lands and help him, he said they could…" She stopped when she saw the horror in the old lady's eyes.
"Did he know that he was the mage?" The old lady asked, her voice trembling.
"No. Though he told me he had been looking for him for the last one month. I did not want to tell him that he was the mage. I asked him to go with him and help him heal. I promised him that I would follow with the mage, after I took care of a business, here at home." Anna explained.
"Anna, he is going to die." Stated the old woman. "What?" Anna asked with eyes wide open.
"The walks are among the purest of communities. However, their land is now under the control of the monks of Kasnaya." She paused and lowered her head. After a swallow, her coarse voice continued, "Anna, my child, there has been an ancient prophecy that has been passed down among our people for thousands of years. It says, 'In the wake of the new moon, the last mage, before inuncting, shall be lain on the altar of those who serve the beast. The mark of the great witch shall consume his soul, under the watch of the keeper of the specter'."
"Eddie," Anna cried, "is he going to die?"
"I am afraid so, my dear. The prophetic sign was, 'the great prophet, after freeing the last mage from that which bind, shall hand him to the flying creature; creature of purity who will take him to the infested home'. My dear, it is only three days to full moon. May the gods save us all." Anna extended her hands and held the old woman's. She cried uncontrollably. As of remembering something, the woman's head rose, her eyes pointed excitedly at Anna. "Anna, the ancient prophecy gave us no hope. The one you received gave us one. We should find a way, instead of crying." The old woman said, trying hard not to cry. Anna hardly heard her for she was in the midst of her cry.
