Chapter 125 - Waiting For A Show..

Song Xia looked at Ellen, sitting beside her and then looked down at her mobile's screen. She slowly typed: [Is this really true?]

The other party replied back almost instantly: [Yes, it's 100% accurate.]

Her lips curled up into a smirk. [Okay, then. Send a copy to her. Let's see her reaction.]

[Okay, Miss.]

Soon, the car reached the mansion. Song Xia got out of the car and so did Ellen. Then the car slowly drove away.

Ellen looked at her and spoke suddenly. "You shouldn't come out often. It's too dangerous."

His eyes were a little colder.

Song Xia paused and looked up at him. She then smiled, showing her cute dimples, "I have you to protect me, don't I?"

Ellen was momentarily stunned. Her words continuously rang in his head, making him feel slightly flustered.

His coldness melted away just like that as he happily answered, "Of course!"

He then added with a tinge of remorse in his voice, "But still, I can't be around you forever."

Song Xia revealed a grin as she confidently puffed up her chest, "Don't worry! I'm strong too, you know?"

Ellen stared at her with an indulgent smile. He muttered, "Yeah, very strong indeed."

She chuckled as she looked away from him and entered the house. Ellen slowly followed her inside.

The moment they entered, a shout came from inside, startling the duo. "Xiao Xia! How dare you leave the house when I clearly told you not to!!"

Song Xia speechlessly looked at Tang Yan, who had a messy hair and looked extremely fatigued.

"I wanted to go out so I went outside." She helplessly rubbed her brows, "By the way, I think you better have some rest first."

Tang Yan glared at her, then at Ellen who was standing behind her. He gritted his teeth as he bellowed.

"You two really trouble me too much! Do you know how much I was worried when I got home and there was no one?? If I had not found out that you went to his office, I'd have died out of worry!"

Song Xia blankly said, "I'm sorry."

She was a bit taken aback by his worry.. However, she felt very warm inside her heart.

When he saw her docilely apologizing, Tang Yan swallowed his words and sighed.

"I'm forgiving you today but if this happens again, I'll really leave this house!"

Ellen firmly shook his head, "There's no need for that."

Just as Tang Yan was about to smile, he heard him continued, "You can just leave right now."

Tang Yan, who was feeling touched a moment ago: "..."

Song Xia burst into laughter. Tang Yan flared up, "How dare you laugh at me, huh! I'm telling you, if you don't stop.."

Ellen immediately shot a death-glare at him. The latter's voice turned weaker and weaker, then he stopped talking.

Song Xia smiled annoyingly at him, "What if I don't stop? What can you do to me? Hmph!"

Ellen touched her head and reprimanded softly, "Don't taunt him anymore. Go to your room."

Song Xia pouted but still walked away. Before leaving, she looked at Tang Yan and stuck her tongue out to tease him.

He huffed and angrily pointed at her back, "Xiao Xia, that little brat.."

Ellen glared at him. Tang Yan trembled as he changed the topic, "I suddenly remembered that your birthday is coming!"

But the moment the words left his words, he regretted even opening his mouth. Ellen's face turned sullen. "I'm going upstairs."

Tang Yan looked at his disappearing back and sighed in regret. His phone abruptly rang.

He glanced at the familiar caller ID and was frightened.

After a few rings, the call ended. He sighed in relief. Just as he was about to flung the phone away, he received a text:

[You dare ignore me.]

He freaked out because he knew that she was angry now. He hastily dialed her number, "Xixi, see, Brother Yan was busy so.."

An icy cold voice came from the other line. "Oh? You mean I'm not busy?"

He weakly tried to coax her, "No, that's not what I meant.. Xixi, you see.. The matter with your brother.."

"What are you two hiding from me? Could it be that you're hiding a mistress? Hm?" The voice turned colder.

"It's nothing like that.."

"Then, why are you stopping me from coming home? Answer me truthfully." The girl didn't buy into his words.

Tang Yan sighed at last. He said solemnly, "It's actually, your brother.. He's in a very grave situation."

The girl was silent for a while before she spoke plainly, "Tang Yan, your acting skills have gotten slightly better, but it's still not enough to fool me."

He finally gave in. "Alright, alright. I'll tell you! But before that, promise me that after knowing this, you won't come here."

"Tell me first."

"Promise me." Tang Yan was adamant too.

The girl gave in, "Whatever. I promise I won't come. But I'm afraid I'll have to come by someday 'cause I have some business there."

His features relaxed as he said secretively, acting like a thief.

"Don't tell this to anyone, not even Uncle Qian.. Actually, your brother is hiding a woman in the house!"

The other line went silent: "..."

After a while, the girl asked uncertainly, "..Really? Are you sure?"

Tang Yan immediately nodded, "Yes, of course! That's why no one else can find out.. You mustn't let your Sister-In-Law be found out by others.."

"Tang Yan, you better not lie to me!" The girl warned him. He chuckled, "Has your Brother Yan ever lied to you, Xixi?"

"..Stop it. You're making me cringe." The girl's voice was cold as she hung up with a humph.

Tang Yan smiled slyly as he muttered, "She's just like her brother.."

'Both are stubborn to the core. Tsk, always making me worry.'

He paused for a moment before tossing his phone away and lying on the sofa lazily.

While he was busy watching TV, he didn't notice that his phone screen lit up with a message. [Sir, there seems to be rumors circulating about Miss Xue's appearance.]
