Chapter 76 - Song Xia's Rotten Luck

Song Xia sighed and shook her thoughts aside.

No matter what happened, in the end, she was the one who lost everything.

She could only blame herself for her stupidity and carelessness.

Alas, now that she thought of it, she felt petty for bearing a grudge against those people..

Noticing her absentmindedness, Ellen silently excused themselves from the mother-son duo.

He didn't want her to stay with the people from her past any longer.

It would only remind her of her past, which Ellen didn't want to happen.

As she watched the two leaving, Han Ruoyi fell into deep thought.

She felt that the man's face looked a little familiar but she couldn't figure out who he was exactly..

After making sure that they had already left, Song Yicheng's gentle expression turned expressionless again.

He turned to his puzzled mother and it was as if he had read her mind as he said softly.

"Qian Zai. It's him."

The moment his words fell, Han Ruoyi's eyes immediately widened. She gaped her mouth in amazement.

"Q-Qian Zai?! H-How can it be..? Yicheng, are you sure it's him?!"

Song Yicheng pondered for a while before nodding his head slightly. "I'm sure."

Han Ruoyi bit her lips as she murmured, "No wonder, his aura was so terrifying.."

And he looked so familiar as well..

He actually turned out to be the Qian Family's Young Master, Qian Zai; namely Ellen!

She suddenly thought of something and looked at her son with uncertainty, "W-Who was that woman with him then? S-She said that she's Tang Xuan but I'm sure that no such person exist in our circle.."

This question..

Song Yicheng couldn't answer.

He indifferently got down from her embrace and looked at the direction where Song Xia and Ellen disappeared.

"Whoever she is, she mustn't be provoked", he said with a cold tone.

He had personally seen how Ellen had treated her.

She was totally different from other women in his heart.

Han Ruoyi nodded her head slightly as she recovered from her shock.

This woman must be quite powerful..

To be associated with the Devil King himself..

And she had even felt that the way he looked at that woman wasn't quite right..

---

Ellen had sent off Secretary Han away so the both of them had to walk home.

While walking, Song Xia unhappily glanced at the man walking beside her.

"Hmph, why did you pull me away just now?! I was planning to reconcile with Sister Yiyi and my nephew! You totally ruined our family reunion!"

Ellen glanced at her indifferently as he blurted out, "If I hadn't pulled you, it wouldn't be long before your real identity gets found out by them!"

If he weren't there, it wouldn't even have taken long before that little brat found out her real identity, given her behavior!

Speaking of which, before, he had heard many rumors about Song Xe Yong's little son being an intelligent and clever genius since birth.

He hadn't believed it but when he personally experienced that brat's little tricks, he finally understood why many people avoided contact with that little guy.

He was simply sharp-tongued and treacherous, just like his father.

Don't be deceived by his cute face; one moment he's smiling, and the other moment, he'll back-stab you for his own interests and you won't even know about it..

His circle was vastly different from Song Xia's; she wouldn't know those rumors about Song Yicheng and even if she did, she wouldn't believe it at all.

He had warned her but at last, she chose not to believe him.

But he was different from her; he was well-aware of Song Yicheng's real self.

Normally, this kid would mind his own business and not bother with anyone.

But today, he actually approached them, hence he suspected if this brat had an ulterior motive.

As for what that motive was, he didn't know.. yet.

Just as he was pondering, he felt something wasn't right and realized that the person behind him had gone missing suddenly.

Ellen immediately panicked as he searched for Song Xia but he couldn't find any trace of her..

A bad premonition rose in his heart as he made way through the crowd and searched for her.

In the end..

Ellen found Song Xia near a convenient store. She was standing outside while looking down at a corner.

He couldn't see what she was looking at from afar but as he made his way near her, he realized she was looking at a kitten.

No, actually, it was two kittens.

They were in a box, staring back at Song Xia with cute and pitiful eyes. It was clear that they were abandoned.

Ellen, who was looking at the woman and two kittens staring at each other: "..."

Just as he was about to shout at her, he realized that because Song Xia had been standing right in front of the door, she had bumped into someone which caused her to walk few steps back.

Unfortunately, when she walked back, she had accidentally stepped on his toe before falling into his arms.

"..." Ellen didn't know what to do when he looked at the woman in his arms who was still stepping on his toe.

Should he just hold her and let her step on his foot or should he push her away and rescue his foot which was now aching painfully?

Song Xia blankly looked at the man who suddenly appeared behind her and had caught her. She smiled at him gratefully, "Thank you.."

Her smile was so beautiful that his heart began pounding loudly.

But Ellen couldn't enjoy this beautiful moment because of the pain in his foot which was still being stepped on by her.

He gritted his teeth as he said, "Xiao Xia, you're stepping on my foot!"

Song Xia froze and awkwardly smiled as she hastily balanced herself.

She then removed her leg from his foot. "Oh, sorry!"

To his misfortune, she had worn high heels today to match with her dress. So now his leg had already gone numb from the pain..

"Why do you keep bumping into people lately?" Ellen scolded her but suddenly he noticed the man who bumped into Song Xia..

He frowned instantly..

First it was that little brat and now it's this big brat..

Song Xia's luck must be rotting enough to bump into these people today of all times!
