They reached their new home around 3 pm in the afternoon. The sun was bright and the house was practically shinning. She had obviously seen the house before but during their honeymoon Li Jun had obviously ordered some renovations..now the house was more beautiful and bright. The two storey home was fully white with intricate golden carvings on the bases of the wall. The windows were huge and overlooked small fountains and a lotus pond with various flowers and trees around it. The pillars were huge and complimented the huge surrounding. The house looked like a palace and suited the name ;moon palace ,to the nines.
" I got the builders to replace some parts with marbles. This vines design carvings is of pure gold too." That's when Yu Yan noticed the golden embroidery was actual gold. She gasped in shock but calm herself down ....'My husband is a billionaire ,he can afford it'. She nodded to herself but couldn't help looking at the sprawling embroidery till the length where her eyes could see no more and only then did she let it go.
She really wanted to joke 'Shall we also wear gold chains and gold shirt to flaunt your wealth?' But she looked at Li Jun's happy face and swallowed the joke. Instead she only said.
"It looks really good,i love it" It did look good and she did love it. It complimented the white marbles as it gleamed in the sunlight.
Li Jun smiled in happiness and led her inside the house.
"Come, I changed somethings inside our bedroom too.I ordered a full gold design wallpaper and I also ordered a pure gold king size bed and a matching pure Gold Toilet." Li Jun smiled and led her up the stairs to their bedroom.
Yu Yan blanched. She was horrified. How could he do this? Has he finally lost his mind? She thought with horror.
As Li Jun slowly opened the bedroom door ,she held her heart in trepidation.
But the room looked normal. The wall was creamed coloured like she had previously chosen. The bed was normal too. She ran to the bathroom and the toilet was normal as well. She expelled a long breathe in relief as she came out of the bathroom.
Li Jun snickered then he guffawed loudly, he held his stomach, pointed at her and laughed ,aloud. He wanted to explain that he was only joking with her but he really couldn't. His eyes teared up as it became painful even as he laughed .
Yu Yan understood what he wanted to say and crossed her arms to stare him down or stare him up in her case, her husband was 1.90 m tall after all.
Yu Yan wanted to smile but she didn't want to lose out after being made a joke of. So, she persistent with her frowny face which unfortunately only made her more endearing in the 'rose tinted' eyes of her husband.
"I am sorry ,You were looking so weird earlier when I was explaining about the vine designs...so I just wanted to tease you a bit. "He winked at her and poked at her arms playfully while smiling ear to ear.
"Huh!really? You DO look awfully sorry" she huffed and walked out of the bedroom taking exaggerated heavy steps.
Li Jun ran after her.
After groveling and catering to her pride for a bit she begrudgingly calmed herself down. 'Its always fun to act mad ' she thought.
'An angry wife is not gonna come to bed with me...Fuck pride!' He thought.
Both husband and wife had different thoughts as they got ready to head to the Li's main house for dinner. They were required to go pay respect to the parents after they returned. Modern rules were a little more relaxed than the olden times but this needed to be done.
Since , Yu Yan was an orphan , they only needed to go to Li Jun's family to pay their respect.
"Should we also go pay respect to your uncle's home? after all he did raise you for a bit" He asked Yu Yan casually.
Yu Yan thought for a bit and answered.
"We don't keep in contact anymore. Its fine to forget about them"
Li Jun had never met Yu Yan's uncle in the two and a half year that he had known her but he had guessed from the snippets of information that she had let slip that she was an orphan and stayed with an uncle till she was 18 years old and moved out as soon as she could work. She continued working for a few years and after she had saved enough money , she juggled her work and studies to atleast finish college. So he could conclude that they hadn't met again in over five to six years. He was uncomfortable to not meet his wife's only relatives but he firmly believed in the saying; A happy wife is a happy life. So he let the weird mystery of her previous life go . 'She will tell me herself one day ' ...He could only hope.
