Thinking about how the scent removal pill and the invisibility pill can assist him in hunting, Yun Xiao quickly explained his plan to Little Gold. Although Little Gold cannot speak, throughout his time with Little Gold, Yun Xiao noticed that Little Gold's intelligence was rather high.
Hearing Yun Xiao's plan, Little Gold was feeling excited as well. Clearly when the Bronze Back Tiger came earlier, Little Gold was also terrified. Besides being a foodie, Little Gold cared very much about his poor life.
The two of them swiftly headed back to the treasure tree. Yun Xiao had named it as such because he wanted to differentiate it to the other trees in the forest.
Back inside the treasure tree, Yun Xiao first took out two of the scent removal pills. He gave one to Little Gold and immediately swallowed one himself. Little Gold being wary did not immediately eat the pill given. Little Gold was first observing Yun Xiao to see if any mishap would happen. 10 minutes later Little Gold consumed his Scent Removal Pill after confirming that Yun Xiao was fine. Little Gold dared eat the Scent Removing pill only after noticing that besides Yun Xiao having no scent at all, Yun Xiao was totally fine.
"You are a smart monkey to first use me as a guinea pig. I should learn from you and not just randomly believe what is written on the pill bottles from now onwards. Well, at least we can confirm that the Mind Clearing Pills and Scent Removing Pills work just fine. As a safety measure, lets test the Invisibility Pills first. Little Gold, can you go and find us some test subjects please?"
Little Gold nooded its head and gave Yun Xiao a look as if that was what he should have done in the first place. Little Gold then left the treasure tree and shortly after he it returned with a pair of chickens.
"Good work Little Gold. Now lets first tie up the chickens feet with a rope. So even after the chickens turn invisible, we will know where they are."
Little Gold nodded its head in agreement.
After tying up both chickens, Yun Xiao first fed one of the chickens with the Invisibility pill. Within a few seconds, the chicken started to become invisible. First its feet turned invisible followed by the body. The last part of the chicken that turned invisible was its head. It was a funny sight, to see only the head of the chicken and not the rest of its body. After the chicken turned invisible, the only thing that could be seen was the rope. It was kind of strange to see the rope moving by itself and hearing the chicken clucking without actually seeing the chicken.
"Great, the invisibility pill works just fine. Let us also try the Strengthening Pill. It might come in handy when we hunt."
Once again Little Gold nooded its head in approval. Little Gold then helped tie up the second chicken before Yun Xiao forcibally fed it with the Strengthening Pill. They both then held their breaths and waited to see the results of their experiment. Before long, the chicken that was fed the Strengthening pill gave out a loud cluck before breaking the rope that tied it up. It then tried to escape. Little Gold jumped on it. Thankfully, Little Gold's strength was still above the powered up chicken. Using a chain this time, Little Gold once again tied up the chicken. This time it could not break free.
Happy with the results of their chicken experiment, Yun Xiao and Little Gold once again left for the lake. Upon reaching the lake, they both immediately consumed the Invisibility Pill.
"Where are you Little Gold? I can't see you. This is so fun. Let us head up the tree."
Little Gold made a wobble to indicate to Yun Xiao it was there and understood.
Up the tree, Yun Xiao was extremely excited.
"Now this is hunting. Our prey cant smell us nor see us. Hahaha, with the pills, we will be invincible hunters."
Yun Xiao them swallowed a Mind Clearing Pill. He then became extremely focused at the task at hand. Before long, a Red Horned Rhino came to the lake. Yun Xiao immediately discarded any thoughts about the Red Horned Rhino. The Red Horned Rhino is known to be extremely aggresive. Once it decided on a target, it would relentlessly persue its target until either the target or itself died. Yun Xiao did not want anything to do with this Red Horned Rhino. Soon the Red Horned Rhino left. A short while later, another beast showed up. This time it was the Spiking Warthog. Although it is classified as one of the smaller beasts, it had an amazing defence mechanism that deterred most of its predators. Once it feel threatened, its body would release poisonous sharp pointed spikes that would fly in almost every direction. The only way to hunt it would be to wait for it to release all of its spikes. If not killed or captured, the Spiking Warthog woukd then go into hiding until it regrows all of its spikes.
Yun Xiao also gave up on hunting this Spiking Warthog.
While the Spiking Warthog was drinking the water from the lake, a Bronze Back Tiger appeared. The Bronze Back Tiger upon catching sight of the Spiking Warthog, immediately let out a huge roar. The Spiking Warthog visibly trembled upon hearing the roar. It immediately let fly its poisonous spikes. The poisonous spikes flew in all directions from the Spiking Warthog. Yun Xiao, upon seeing this, breathed out a sigh of relief that he was a good distance away from those menacing looking poisonous spikes. The Spiking Warthog released a total of three rounds of poisonous spikes. The first two rounds failed to hit the Bronze Back Tiger but on the third round, one of the spikes managed to hit the Bronze Back Tiger. The Bronze Back Tiger immediately whimpered off in pain. The now spikeless Spiking Warthog immediately then fled in the opposite direction which happened to be the direction where Yun Xiao and Little Gold was hiding at.
"Lucky! This is the perfect oppurtunity. Little Gold, get ready, today we are having Spiking Warthog meat for dinner. I have heard from Mother that if the Spiking Warthog meat is cooked well, the cooked meat will be succulent and fragrant."
Yun Xiao then felt a wet liquid fall onto his hand. Upon hearing Yun Xiao describe the Spiking Warthog meat, Little Gold could not help but drool. If Yun Xiao could see it now, he will once again see Little Gold's stupid grin and Little Gold rubbing his tummy.
The now spikeless Spiking Warthog got closer to where Yun Xiao and Little Gold was at.
Yun Xiao then took aim at the incoming spikeless Spiking Warthog. With the utmost concentration, his hands held his self made bow steadily. Taking a deep breath, he pulled back the string as far back as he could. Feeling the tension of the bow, he continued holding on.
"Not yet. Wait abit more." He silently told himself.
When the spikeless Spiking Warthog was 50 metres away from him, he released the arrow.
Twish... the arrow flew straight towards the spikeless Spiking Warthog.
The arrow drilled directly into the skull of the spikeless Spiking Warthog. The poor beast let out a cry of pain before succumbing to its fate.
"Success!" Yun Xiao yelled.
Beside him, he could hear Little Gold's excited cheers as well.
"Lets bring it back to somewhere near the treasure tree and we can then have a barbeque."
As soon as he completed his sentence, Yun Xiao heard the wind pass him. He figured Little Gold got too excited and can't wait. He was right. Shortly he saw the Spikeless Warthog levitate up in the air and slowly flew in the direction of the treasure tree.
"Little Gold, wait for me."
