Since he left for Japan, DX was so busy with his work in Japan that he did not have any time to talk to Kai Xin. In order to return to her as soon as possible, he worked like a maniac and survived mostly on the thoughts of being able to officially court her.
After what seems like many night of torture, Han Ye was finally allowed a minute of rest as they waited for the plane to depart. As the President's PA, he was also tasked with the responsibility of keeping his boss alive.
After all, the man sitting opposite him now was responsible for his cheque. It was definitely not an easy job.
The man was hell-bent in cramping two weeks worth of appointments into one and a half week. Han Ye basically had to threaten him to eat and sleep. DX had glared at him and threatened to fire him but Han Ye stayed firm - after much difficulties.
Upon arrival, they quickly boarded the limo that was waiting for them outside the airport.
"Are you sure you don't want to rest, sir?" Han Ye asked in concern as they boarded the car.
"I'd be fine. How is she?"
Han Ye knew that "she" referred to Kai XIn and not the man's mother.
"According to the report, she appeared to be fine and she is eating normally. She managed to win two major cases back to back. Ms. Zhen also went out with Ms Chu and Mr. Mo last week." Han Ye reported as he went through the notes that he received from his team.
He handed the photos he received to DX. He has been working for this man for 9 years and Kara was the first woman that DX has ever shown concern for. Thus, he had took it upon himself to ensure the safety of his future ladyboss.
DX looked on adoringly at the photo of Kara smiling as she chat with her friends. That smile of hers are reserved to her close friends but he knew that the rare smiles she showed him are her genuine ones. He carefully folded the photo and put it into his pocket.
As fatigue hits, he yawned. Han Ye cursed inwardly as he looked at his boss. Even when yawning, he did it with such grace and elegance. DX scrolled down the mirror as he lit a cigarette. As the smell of the cigarette wafted into his nose, giving him extra source of energy, he told Han Ye to continue to protect her.
"Once I announced our relationship, she'd be in constant threats of danger. No doubt she'd argue with me if I tried to hire bodyguards for her. Make sure that the people you place around her are the best."
Han Ye agreed. He had come to know more about the personality of the future Madam President and DX's worries were not unfounded, "Please don't be worry about this, President Du. I'd not take any chance with our future Madam."
