Sounds of birds chirping.....
Smell of fresh mud after a heavy rain.....
Pleasant yet warm sunlight...
Seetha opened her eyes and found herself in an unknown world....
"What is this? Where am I??" Seetha looked around confused.
A few hours back...
"Seetha, wake up!! Its time for college!! Honey, if you don't wake up you are going to be late". Sound of her mom calling.
"*Yawn* Umm... I am up... Seetha scratched her messy hair as she woke up from her slumber. Her room was a little bigger than her brother's, she decorated it in a normal yet in a stylish way. The wall hanging in her room made pleasant sounds while gently being hit by the wind. Her bed looked warm and soft.
Seetha stretched a bit which blew away her sleepiness. She walked to her mom who was calling down her husband, her two sons and her in-laws for breakfast.
Yes, their family was big with eight people her father, mother, her twin younger brothers, her grand mother, her grand father, her aunt and her.
Her aunt was an differently abled person. So she didn't get married instead she raised her younger brother's children as her own and loved them like a mother. She was like a financier of the family, even though she wanted to rely on someone else's help to move around, without her, the family would be a mess.
"Happy Morning! Humm... Mom that smells so good!"
"Good Morning Honey! Go and get ready fast."
"Okay..."
Seetha rushed to the bathroom after a little interaction and a mini battle between the siblings, the victorious one's get the bathroom first!
Seetha and her family were vegetarian. The table was filled with all kinds of different dishes. From cooked rice to Roti, etc... The menu was so good that could make a person drool.
Seetha and her mother especially liked spicy food, so as spice lovers the table obviously had some spicy food.
The family has some typical conversations like, "How's your school going?, Try to be attentive while lecture is going on...." and some things related to the household expenses, etc...
"I am going to sleep today during lecture!" Seetha exclaimed.
"Then run all the way to college instead of taking the bus! That way you could have a fast digestion." Her grandfather spoke.
"Yes, yes, I will.... Don't worry!" Seetha made a funny face as she said.
"You little brat! Come here!"
"Dady! Gramps went mad today!"
"Haha! Stop it you two! It's high time that you have to leave, dear." Her dad reminded.
Seetha look at the time, "Oh my god! If I am late on my first day, it's your fault!" She made yet another face at her grandfather naughtily.
"Yes, yes, now go. That's why I told you to run!" Grandpa grinned at her.
"Stop picking on the kid! Act your age." Grandma condemned him.
Grandpa walked behind his wife, took her right hand and went on his knees, "I am still young for my beautiful lady!" And softly planted a kiss.
"*Blush* What are you doing in front of our grandchildren.... You and your flirting skills never age!" Grandma, with her red cheeks, pulled her hand away and swiftly walked to the garden.
"Gramps, wow! Your flirting skills have increased!" Seetha wiped her drool on her face.
"Huh! You are still here? Shouldn't you have been gone by now?"
"Oh god! Damn you! I am late!" Seetha rushed out and witnessed another scene.
"Oh my! Seetha saw us..." Her mom whispered.
Her dad with a little flushed cheeks said, " *Clears the throat* Well we were just talking.... "
'Yeah, yeah, talking with your mouths entwined?? Too much dog food right from the first day!'
"One day I will definitely get a boyfriend! Damn it!" Seetha swore as she ran off!
"Haha... Boyfriend she says.... But somehow, till now she didn't have one... I am worried!" Her mom spoke in a concerned tone.
"Boy... Boyfriend! I object her to have one! Besides she said she was not interested in having one not too long ago..." Her dad stuttered.
"Just how long are you going to hold your daughter dad?" Her twin brother Arun chuckled.
"It's time for us to leave too... remember?" The other twin Arjun reminded and pulled him off.
.....
Seetha ran from the moment she left home. There was something shining along the road side, it somehow caught her eye. She bent down and looked at it. Seetha sighed at what she found. It was a beautiful pendant.
"Oh, this pendant is really beautiful. I wonder if someone lost it.... Maybe I should go and report it as missing or under lost items, it looks very valuable...."
She found her way to police station. Coincidentally she bumped into her friend, Sruthi. She reached her hand to Sruthi's and dragged her along with her.
"What are you doing? Its time for college!"
"Wait....where are you dragging me to?"
"Nothing much.... I just found this expensive looking pendant and want to report it. Since I saw you just now, instead of parting, I thought we might go together hehe."
Sruthi let out a sigh, "I swore to myself that I will get used to your ways. But still you surprise me everytime with your actions."
Seetha grinned from ear to ear, "Well don't mind me. Apart from me, who will be daring enough to drag you around hehe."
Sruthi was speechless.
After they reached the police station, they saw some officers who were running around busily. They could hear vaguely, as to what they were talking about in an agitated tone.
Seetha pinched the place between her brows, "As expected they lost one serial killer again. The officers these days..." and let out a big sigh.
"Hush! Seetha don't be so loud. They might hear you."
Seetha sighed again.
One officer noticed these two girls and went to them and asked, "Hey kids, this is clearly not a place for kids. Now tell me why are you here?" The officer looked like he was in his forties. His tone was nonchalant and treated these girls like some random kids.
Seetha immediately changed her expression and her tone to a gentle and respectful manner, "Hello officer! A very good morning to you! I am here to report a case regarding lost and found. Could you please guide me?"
Sruthi was once again speechless looking at her friend changing skins immediately.
