Chapter 4 - Experiment One Seven One [1]

"Do you know Doctor Andras?" Prince Lock said, his eyes filled with reverence.

On the other hand, Pol's eyes were loaded up with fear. His body started to shiver in trepidation. "Your Excellency, you don't mean the Night Owl doctor? "

"Exactly the Night Owl doctor himself. I heard he is toying with those Soulless as of the moment." Prince Lock remarked, clearly pleasured by the thoughts that played in his mind.

Doctor Andras, better known as the Night Owl doctor, is a ruthless underground doctor that built his reputation through different experiments on various creatures. However, his personal favorite to toy with was the Soulless. Under his macabre experiments, thousands of Soulless perished silently in his death chambers.

The pinnacle of a terrifying murderer!

Even Pol trembled uncontrollably after hearing the madman's name.

Pol said, "Pardon my ignorance your excellency, but what does he have to do with the Princess?" He's worried about the concept of Prince Lock thoughts of the involvement of such a hysterical doctor. There was a time where he encountered the doctor; his vicious presence can suffocate anyone under the Combatant's Authority Level!

Even a veteran like him would have to be wary of that doctor.

"Experiment one seven one. Sarane would surely be pleased to hear about her." Prince Lock remarked.

Pol interposed as he noticed immediately where the conversation is escalating. "Was that even real? I only heard of it as a rumor, did she truly figure out how to escape your excellency?"

Back in the camp, there were rumors that a Soulless namely one seven one escaped from a death chamber through a vent. A few hypotheses said it was a disaster; in any case, some affirmed that it was all just a piece of a noxious course of action Doctor Andras had in his sleeves. Nevertheless, the entire Soulless camp was rebuffed and exposed to a more strident discipline that they had ever experienced.

"She did, and quite remarkable at that. However, its all for naught." Prince Lock said, after which an item appeared out of nowhere in front of him.

Authority Amulet!

An authority amulet is a unique artifact that can't be stolen or annihilated. This item was speculated to be a God-level artifact. Individuals who have comprehended the power of authority, the authority amulet was bestowed together with the authority board. This artifact is akin to system storages which are used to store cultivator's close to personal items.

Items within would be retrieved when the owner sends telepathic instructions to the authority amulet. No other way can the amulet be activated. Not even brute strength would work.

The authority amulet hovers mid-air right before Prince Lock, it examined his talent seed. After which an item manifested beside the authority amulet. It's a glass bottle filled with glittering yellow dust.

Gold Dust!

"As a veteran, I'm sure you are aware what this lovely dust is."

...

Night time inevitably inundated the outskirts of Von Morgen Kingdom. As the moonlight soak the skies, the wind virulently erupted as Sarane trashes some rocks within her vicinity. She displayed her enmity due to what occurred. Nearby plants strongly wobbled as if being compellingly uprooted from its soil, clearly irritated with what had occurred back at the cafeteria.

Seeing their unceasing erroneous words paired up with torments ticked her.

"That's not a proper frame of mind a princess should have, is it?" The lady that accompanied Sarane mumbled then she pouted at her behavior.

"Quinn, give me this one. If anything else, I want to slay that codger!" Sarane raised her voice, stones shattered at the same time akin to mini firecrackers.

"Well, he's not wrong. You're not wrong either." Quinn shields herself from the ricocheting stone fragments.

"Did I miss the part where he is completely wrong in all of his claims, or did you miss the part where I correctly stated continuous facts directly to his hollow head?" Sarane glared at Quinn with the maximum intensity of a thousand stars.

"That one won't work on me." Quinn nonchalantly shrugs her questioning glare. "That's the natural cycle of the universe. Soulless are born as if to be subjected to the eternal hell hole of life without any power whatsoever. Those guys must have done something that offended the universe on their past life or something."

"Offended the universe? How about the Suspiria then?" Sarane wittingly counterattacked Quinn's claim.

Suspiria are 'creatures' that were condemned and loathed by the universe. Suspiria are feared by all creatures and Soulless alike. They are the deepest sighs of the lamentation of the damned souls that wronged and disobeyed the universal laws.

Suspiria dwells in the deepest part of the planet, away from any possible lifeforms. Resembles a black violet toxic river that usually seen in groups, demonic beings would not be apt to classify this horrific disgrace of the universe.

Terrifying present and future would befall someone upon contact with Suspiria.

Silence filled the atmosphere.

It is true that offending the universe and disobeying the universe are two separate things. In any case, Sarane still thinks that its loathsome for those with powers subject others to savage torments due to their powerlessness.

"Just let it go, being violent because of emotional stress does not suit you." Quinn began to tease her to lighten her mood.

Quinn already knew her character, having to spend most of her time as childhood friends. Despite her gentle demeanor as a princess, her remarkable sense of justice betrays her character; thus losing her gentleness when it comes to nefarious people who abuse their power to oppress the weak.

Some royalties found this repulsive meanwhile some found it respectful.

Quinn thought that it accentuates her placid attitude, its just that she can get carried away by her strong emotions in some occasions; which is disadvantageous for her.

Much the same to her aggressive attitude at the cafeteria.

Sarane remained quiet in view of Quinn's best shot at what might be called a friend's comfort, which she did not fancy at all. As she tries to calm herself down, a rustling sound abruptly sounds out in the bushes. Then they saw golden particles swirling about the forest.

"Gold Dust!? Which half-witted blaggard is in their right mind to use such underhanded concoction for sense sealing?" Quinn was startled, pointing at the countless particles.

Gold dust is a dangerous potion which can be used to incapacitate someone, depending on its potency and the victim's authority level, Gold dust can even seal the sense of creatures in Completer's Authority Level.

The rustling intensified as if someone had bang their head on all the forest's greenery. The two stood on their feet. Quinn took out her low tier bow, and Sarane took out her low tier rapier from their authority amulet then they arranged to fight out whoever it was, creature or human. Their talent seeds magnificently glowed as they waited patiently.

Then something unexpected flashed in their eyes.

It was a girl that jumped out from the bushes, filled with scars and fresh wounds. On top of that, the lack of talent seed in her forehead indicated that she is a Soulless.

An escapee?

The girl that exited the forest instantly collapsed on the ground. Sarane, however, was quick in her reflexes and caught the girl's clothes as she thrust her rapier forward in a frighteningly accurate movement which delayed the Soulless girl's fall.

Rapier Pecking Lunge!

She caught the Soulless girl with her hands before the fabric that was punctured the rapier tore off.

Horror was plastered in her face as she saw the Soulless girl. As if trying to yell out 'help' without regard or knowledge of her state in which all of her senses where shut down by the sorcery of the Gold dust powder.

"She's dose, although she's fine," Quinn sighed in relief, but she was taken aback as if the sigh went back her mouth. " However, these wounds. . . "

They were all deep and severely critical.

Sarane fixated her eyes to all of the Soulless girl's wounds, deeply worried for her state; until her eyes found its way to the side of her neck, on top of her collarbone. Words formed through burnt marks imprinted on the Soulless girl's skin.

"One seven one."
