"I have to fly faster" thought Glashia struggling to draw breath and keep up her strength while she was being pursued by a black figure's rapidly closing in on her. Painful memories kept flashing through her mind, as she held onto two objects with a determination that would shake any one who saw it.
Her wings badly damaged, she had no hope of out pacing her pursuers but she kept flying increasing her speed as she thought of her mate Volganos as he had desperately fought of other dragons to protect her and their unborn welps. They had been the king and queen, of all dragons keeping their positions through strength.
But all dragons being noble creatures found the current king and queen to be jokes. For all dragons found the crossbreeding of different spices to be unacceptable especially the true dragons the most powerful of them all. So even if Volganos was the most powerful magma dragon and Glashia the strongest frost dragon, their union had enraged all dragons so they had been targeted and dethroned. Their unholily union was an abomination in the eyes of all others, they had committed the greatest taboo ever know to dragon kind by having children.
"their getting closer dam it even after Volganos stalled their group one of them must have slipped past hime." thought Glashia " their's only one option left I must lose them in the caves." Ignoring the pain in her wings she dove into the cave system below her hoping that her pursuers would lose her down there. But right as she entered the cave her pursuer caught up to her.
"You disgrace all dragon kind with your twisted union" he said right before he unleashed an attack of red lighting from his mouth. After that the figure charged right into her causing her to plummet right to the cave floor. As Glashia got up she finally got a look at her pursuer
"Tempest this is madness we have been friends ever since we were just small welps, why are you helping them?"
A frown appeared on his face as she spoke " you know just as much as i do that what you and Volganos did this it is one of the greatest taboos for dragons to find mates from different elements, and to top it all off you being the heir to the throne means that you should have respected the rules he have created for the better good of all dragons. Did you ever think of the consequences, now both of you bust face judgment."
A chilling aura began filling the cave, Glashia was mustering up the last of her magic putting all her hopes into this battle. as she was doing this ice began to spread across her body forming an extra layer of armor to protect herself while more formed around her claws, this sight surprised Tempest.
"I see your going all out then well no point in me being kind to you then. I'll just tell them that you died while i tried to capture you" a sinister smile spread across Tempest's face but his eyes told a different story their was lose and regret within them. Lighting surrounding his red scales, zapping the air around him emitting crackling sounds as the full force of his magic spread across the area.
Glashia slowly put down her two eggs with the tenderness only a mother could have, if she was going to fight with full power she would need to use all of her limbs. But she did leave a dome of ice to protect them incase of a stray attack coming their way depleting her already low supply of manna.
struggling she pounced into the air with the might of her four legs and began to fly closing in on Tempest. but with her injured wings her speed was greatly reduced, they still needed time to heal but she couldn't worry about that right now.
All dragons were innately adept at magic their specific species specialized in but true dragons were masters of their element. As the two of them approached each other the battle had already started, giant shards of ice met red bolds of thunder the collisions creating tremors in the cave as they fought. Glashia's frost claws sank into tempest's flank but at the same time Tempest bit down onto her neck causing surges of electric current to pulse through her body paralyzing her slightly.
"Give up Glashia your magic is running out i can see it their is no point in struggling" while saying this Tempest summoned wave after wave of lighting striking Glashia's body. He seemed to want to end this fast as if he was hesitating about something and the longer he waited the more unsure he'd become.
But she wasn't done yet using her agility she dodged the lighting strikes closing in one Tempest once more, but Glashia was at disadvantage in this arial fight as Tempest summoned lighting once more but now he was using it to enhance his speed. This was the true strength of a storm dragon pure speed and attack power, Tempest repeatedly flew close to Glashia attacking her with his claws and flying just out of reach right afterwords.
"Look at you, the mighty queen of frost once to powerful she could slay Ancient's but now your so hurt you can even fight me an elder wyrm. " Tempest smirked he seemed to be enjoying fighting her and the memories it brought of years past. " Well its about time now with wounds like those if you weren't a true dragon you'd already be dead, time to finish the job" he said. But as Tempest said this he seamed to remember some thing " well may as well take care of the eggs first" he said with a grim face.
Summoning a giant bolt of lightning he struck the roof of the cave right above where the eggs were located smiling as tones of rocks were falling down towards them knowing full well the ice dome protecting them wasn't enough.
"NOOOOOO!" Glashia screamed as she started moving with all her might at an impossibly fast speed for some one with all her injuries. She covered the dome with her body protecting her two unborn children from the falling rocks.
At the site of this Tempest took the opportunity to finish her off quickly "well what a perfect way to die let me help you with that" streaks of red lightning shot toward her desperate Glashia took the full attack using her dwindling mana supply to strengthen her ice armor.
A loud explosion could be seen as tones of rocks fell onto her and lighting bombarded her with no hope left glashia drew her last breath. "children i hope you two will survive" was as she thought about as she was crushed to death and covered under a mountain of ruble caused my the intense fighting.
As Glashia lay their dead Tempest thought it impossible for the eggs to have survived, but for good measure as he left the continued to attack the cave system making it collapse and leaving no room for chance.
As Tempest flew back he remembered the childhood he shared with Glashia all the fond memories experiences and challenges they had faced together. Their was a soft smile on his face as he left "Im am going to miss you shia its better you died hear rather than those old monsters get their claws on you" if one looked closely there was a single tear falling from his eye as he left his closest friend's grave.

Tempest flew back toward his group "commander Glashia was killed in the battle to capture her" he said with his mask hiding the moment of weakness he experienced earlier.
"Dam it Tempest our orders we to bring them back alive" the commander spoke in a harsh manner. "the new king wanted to make an example to of those that defy our ways with both of them. either way we were able to detain Volganos were the two eggs destroyed?"
their was a moment of uncertainty but right after he spoke "yes sir they were crushed during the battle, but the cave we fought in has has collapsed so recovery of the body will be impossible" he said with a unemotional voice.
"you better be sure because if Glashia isn't dead well have her whole clan of frost dragons up our asses for not finishing the job they wanted to do" the commander said in a grumpy voice.
Upon hearing of his wife's death and the death of his two unborn children Volganos lost all life within his eye and stopped struggling to break free from his chains and unmatched sorrow filled his eye's as he was transported towards the place that would certainly be his death.

Unknown to all parties involved Glashia's dome of ice had survived when she had used the last of her life force to create magic strengthening the dome.
but not even she knew that open her death a small amount of Tempest lighting had slipped thru killing one of the eggs but surprisingly fusing with the second still developing dragon embryo. with the domes chilling effects it slowed down the eggs development and their it sat for may years untouched lying under its mother's grave to be forgotten to all but time.
it wasn't until many years latter that by chance a unnamed miner chanced upon the skeleton of a true dragon earning himself a fortune he was even more delighted by the sight of two eggs.
"those eggs cant possibly be alive, but they still ought to get a high price in an auction" thought the man as he retrieved both the eggs loading them into the cart along with the dragons skull and a few other choice bones that were the most valuable for crafting materials. little did this man know that a count down had been started as the little egg from all those years ago after fusing with the red lightning finally started to develop once more finally becoming free from the ice with had sustained it.
" ill come back for the rest of the bones latter on, this really is my lucky day" the man thought with a grin of his face. But as fate would have it no one ever discovered that one of the two little dragon eggs was still alive. As it was sold a wealthy family from a smaller continent bought the eggs only to find out latter to their dismay the boat carrying the eggs was attacked by magic creatures sinking the boat.
But fate was kind to the little egg as the ice element helped it breath underwater and it was able to survive a potentially lethal situation. it drifted in the currents for an unknown amount of time guided by fate and never encountering any beast's. eventually tho it was washed into a costal cave, as luck would have it it was barren of all other life both man and beast were no where to be found. So there it lay waiting for the day it could be born only to find it's self in a unwelcoming and cruel world filled with danger.
