Carl who stands beside her lost his balance, he wasn't ready to what had Zoey did. With wildest mind thoughts he assumes that because she was wearing that she has decided to go in her bikinis because her dress will be a major distraction to her game. He immediately hits his head for think that.
Nickel, on the other hand, doesn't like what is happening; with Zoey's bareback top that Carl might take advantage and purposely touching her based on the game mechanics. He also saw her heart-shaped mole after she tied her hair up. Even though he sees it every day, this mole still has an amazing effect on him whenever he sees it.
Also, all the male population inside the activity hall was jealous of this IT officer for having the chance to be paired with their Ma'am Zoey.
"Is everyone okay now?" the host asked. People all shouted yes to show that everything is settled.
Each group's first pair went to the starting point, Zoey and Carl is their group's last pair; they waited behind the other pairs who stood before the start line.
"On my remarks. One. Two. Three. *Beep!*" all first pairs starts hopping and tried to surpass all the obstacles. The first one who successfully returned was Group A.
Zoey and Carl tied their body parts first before going inside the sack. Carl put her hands around her waist but Zoey removed it and had his hand tight. She is still a conservative lady so she is not allowing any guy to touch in all means. She holds his hand like how youngsters hold their grandparent's hand while walking. Other pair's strategies were placing one's hand to their partner's shoulders or waists. It is just their pair who did otherwise.
Nickel grips his glass when he saw Carl placing his hand to her waist. "What kind of audacity did this man have? I shall fire him later."
"Looks like Ma'am Zoey and Sir Carl are not our conventional pair for today. They are like grandmother and grandson based on how they hold each other's." the host jokingly said. Everyone on the crowd laughed when they heard the comment of the host. Even Nickel chuckled to that. "That's my girl!" he happily said.
It is not what Carl expected to happen. They looked like elderly and youngster with their strategy. But nevertheless, compared to nothing this is already enough for him. They surpass the challenges ahead of them. They even won the game, their team rejoiced for winning this around and for the surprise gift later.
They finished all the activities prepared around later that afternoon. As they still have time to seep in the sea, everyone changed into their own swimwear attire.
One by one people exited the changing room with their summer set. Some wears, one or two-piece bikinis for girls and summer shorts for boys. Although the seashore isn't as crowded as the other resorts around the area Parakeet Island is full of tourist, local and foreigners, and ASC employees.
As their first summer outing as a company, everyone prepared their summer bodies to show to the crowd. Nickel who has a body to kill for sat on a bamboo chair sunbathing under the sun with his iced Americano in his hand he tried to check other people that walks in front of him.
There are some who tried to talk to him but as usual, he instantly brushes them off until Zoey on her bareback one-piece swimwear sat next to him. "Is this seat taken?" she asked.
All bamboo chairs and cottages were all occupied of either by other tourist or their own colleagues. "No, its all for you." He casually said.
When Zoey hasn't sat beside him he faces the sea and mesmerizing the beauty of this paradise but now that Zoey is there he leans his body sideward facing her while talking to her.
"Is that so? I've noticed that they're some who tried to talk to you? Why aren't you entertaining them? I see that some are real beauty from other nations." It is true that Zoey saw of them, she cannot say that she is jealous or not but she obviously not liking it.
"I just don't like talking to strangers."
"Oh come on! Don't be so picky." Geez, Zoey! Are you setting him up or what? She said to herself.
"I'm not picky, you know. I already have you why would I look for the others." After that, he faces the waters with his red tainted face. "Jesus! Nickel, that is embarrassing!" he is scolding himself.
A moment of silence engulfed the two after Nickel remembered to ask her if she wants a drink.
"Coffee Frappuccino is okay." These two really have caffeine running into their bloodstreams, even on a hot summer day they still prefer to have their daily dosage of coffee.
"I saw that you enjoyed the games a while ago." Nickel tried to start a conversation but the only thing he got in his mind is her cheerfulness while playing.
"I did. And why didn't you joined us?" that is one of her most awaiting questions to inquire to him, why didn't he join the fun if this team building's main agenda is to be acquainted with one another.
"I don't like to be paired other than you." And with that Nickel stood up and took a dip into the sea.
