Chapter 277 - The Accomplice's Accomplice

Kwon Tae Yang flinched as the door to the 'captive room' burst open. Yeo Ri stormed out with heavy footsteps; clearly frustrated.

She glanced at him with daggers in her eyes, "Get me some clothes! Right now!"

"Yes, miss." He bowed his head gravely before leaving the house to grab a change of clothes from the trunk of his car as quickly as he was physically capable of. It was unfortunate that he didn't think to stock up some items in the house for the girl considering how frequent her visits have been. He made a mental note to fill up the place, just in case the girl needed to stay there.

When he came back, the girl was nowhere to be found.

But he was not worried. He could see the trail of clothes discarded on the floor, leading into the master bedroom. Following the trail, he entered the room, picking up the clothing as he walked.

He could hear the water running inside the bathroom. He knocked on the door, "Miss, I'll leave your clothes on the bed. There should be some clean towels in the cupboard under the sink, if you need it."

He did not hear an answer, but the door opened slightly as he prepared to leave, "Get rid of my old clothes. I don't want them anymore."

"As you wish, miss."

He bunched up her old clothes, carrying them to the kitchen, and dumped them in the trash bin.

His little miss needed some time to herself.

Kwon Tae Yang busied himself as she bathed.

He went into the 'captive room', to check if the person tied inside was still alive.

The girl had been a lot more violent with this one considering how dishevelled and bloody he looked, but Kwon Tae Yang was relieved to see that his little lady hasn't turned into a murderer just yet.

He patched up the man as well as he could, distancing himself from any thoughts over the way the guy's eyes was glazed over in apparent terror, or why he had his d*ck hanging out, covered in his own gunk.

He didn't want to know what transpired in this room. His only job was to make sure Yeo Ri was safe, and if this was the only way for him to watch over her and keep her out of harm's way, then so be it. It was a thousand times better than having her be in the victim's position, anyways.

Once he was finished with his shoddy checkup, Kwon Tae Yang removed his gloves, throwing it into the same trash bin as Yeo Ri's clothes. He washed his hands, with soap, for almost ten minutes. Luckily, the fresh blood was not too stubborn to remove.

Tae Yang pulled out his phone and dialled a number by memory. Within a few rings, the person picked up.

"It's me. Did you crack his phone yet?"

"Yeah. Dumb*ss really used his birthday as his passcode. I found lots of shady sh*t, too. This is some serious sh*t you've dragged me into."

"Sorry."

"Nah, it's cool. The dude's a total psycho. A*shole's been pulling a lot of crazy sh*t with his friends. Alone, too. He's done for if any of this is ever released. At least three life sentences, I'm sure, and that's being generous."

"But?"

"But this can't be used as evidence," the person sighed. He knew the laws too well to understand that seeking justice would be difficult. "Not in the way we procured it. Not with the people backing him."

Tae Yang sighed. "I figured."

"Doesn't mean we can't do sh*t with it, though. I love sending *ssholes to social death," he cackled diabolically.

"Not yet," Kwon Tae Yang stopped him. "And not everything. We should keep some things to ourselves... for future purposes."

"Spoken like a true blackmailer. 'Kay, I get what you want to do. How's the *sshole?"

"Not dead."

"—Yet," the person on the other side of the call added with a knowing smirk. They had served the army together, and he knew just how petty Kwon Tae Yang could be. No matter how 'tame' he appeared now, Kwon Tae Yang was just another b*stard deep down.

"..." Tae Yang cleared his throat. "Anything else?"

"Oh, yeah, some people have been reaching out to him asking about where he's been. Apparently he missed like two meetings or something."

"That's to be expected. It's been a few days since... well."

After capturing Woo Jin, Yeo Ri hadn't bothered to deal with him for two days. He had been checking up on the guy every day, making sure he was knocked out and quiet until the girl finally decided to do something about him.

Finally, the girl freed up some time to deal with him.

"Just make it seem like he went on a vacation somewhere."

"Should I engineer some photos too? Even if they used a pro, we could still buy some time."

"Sure, but not too much. Make sure it's not too detailed. And don't go overboard with your descriptions."

"I got it, you prick. This isn't my first rodeo, alright?" he laughed, and Kwon Tae Yang could imagine seeing his friend waving his hands flippantly as he spoke.

"if you say so," he grumbled, "anyways, thanks, man. I knew I could count on you, you dark-hearted b*stard. Use your skills for a good cause next time, d*mmit."

The other man guffawed, "Maybe in my next life? And why thank me? I'm being paid for this. You're the dark-hearted one for commissioning me!"

Kwon Tae Yang rolled his eyes. "Whatever. I'm hanging up."

"'Kay~"

He ended the call just as Yeo Ri stepped out of the room, dressed in her new clothes. It was a simple two-piece, but the girl had the looks to make anything she wore look good.

"I'm tired," she says, "take me home."

Kwon Tae Yang wiped away the gaiety he had displayed to his friend and bowed respectfully to the girl. "Yes, miss."
