Yeo Ri and Gun had separate bank accounts.
Previously, they had shared Gun's bank account, but for the sake of convenience and independence, Gun decided to create a new bank account for Yeo Ri after she joined the agency.
Therefore, this amount of money... had been earned and belonged solely to her. It was a number she had never expected to grace her wallet before.
Yeo Ri simply stood erect at her spot, shocked. 'Th-this was too generous!' She thought.
"Yeo Ri? Is something wrong?" Park Soo Yeon approached the frozen girl worriedly.
Yeo Ri snapped out of her stupor upon hearing the older woman's voice, but still she could not hide the shock from appearing on her expression.
"Um... that," Yeo Ri stuttered, her face flushing in excitement. "Mr. Do from the previous commercial called. He gave me a huge bonus because of how big the commercial got."
Park Soo Yeon raised her eyebrows in elation. "That's wonderful! Spend the money well, Yeo Ri-ah."
"—Yes! Thank you to you as well, Auntie, for giving me the opportunity." Yeo Ri bowed deeply towards her boss. Thanks to her, she was able to earn an unthinkable amount of money in such a short period of time. And perhaps, she would continue to rake in more money in the future as well.
Yeo Ri could no longer concentrate on the filming. Thus, she made the decision to go home. She quietly left after whispering her farewells to everyone in her near vicinity, excusing herself as politely as possible so as to not disrupt the ongoing shoot.
With the good news swirling around in her mind, Yeo Ri could not wait to tell her brother the good news. With this much money, they could probably move to a better apartment.
Just thinking about the things she could buy with the unexpected windfall, Yeo Ri's mood soared considerably. It felt really good to be rich, she thought.
And so, Yeo Ri and her entourage departed from the set.
Secretary Kwon dropped off Mrs. Choi at the company building afterwards, and while he was getting ready to drive away, Yeo Ri interrupted him.
"Take me to the prison first. You know where it is, right?"
She really couldn't wait to break the news to her Gun and Hyuk, and she wanted to do it in person. Looking at the clock, Gun would be finished with his day's classes at late evening, so there was ample time for her to visit Hyuk first before heading to Gun's university.
"As you wish," Secretary Kwon perfunctorily replied. He'd gone there only once, but the route was easy enough for him to remember. After switching lanes twice, he easily found the right direction to the prison.
While the man drove in silence, Yeo Ri was busy tapping away at her phone, rapidly sending texts back and forth with In Guk.
In Guk was the son of a real estate tycoon, and he had also been the one who helped the Lee siblings procure their current apartment. Although it was a bit small for two people, it was cheap and in good condition. They even received a fully furbished kitchen and a washing machine for free. Therefore, Yeo Ri did not hesitate to contact In Guk.
'In Guk-oppa, I'm looking for a nicer apartment. I just got paid a bonus for that commercial I did. Can you help me?'
Within half-a-beat, his reply came: 'Of course! I'll ask my dad if there's a good one. In the area near S University, right? What's your budget?'
'10 000 dollars.'
Several moments of silence passed before Yeo Ri's phone buzzed, the screen lighting up with In Guk's name—he had called her.
"Y-Yeo Ri-ah! Did I read it right?! T-ten thousand?! Are my eyes playing with me or are there really that many zeroes on there?!" He cried out with disbelief. "You got ten thousand dollars for just doing a commercial?!"
"...Yes. I was shocked too." Actually, the pay for the commercial itself was just 800 dollars. She never expected to get such a large payout from just that one commercial either. In total, she had earned 10 800 dollars from those two days of filming.
Yeo Ri could hear him inhaling and exhaling deeply as if to calm himself down. "Don't worry, Yeo Ri-ah! Just leave it to me. I'll book you an appointment with my dad. How does this weekend sound?"
"I have to film on Saturday, but I'll be done by noon."
"Then, I'll contact you soon. Oh, congratulations, Yeo Ri-ah! I knew you'd be famous one day."
Hearing In Guk's familiar energetic and cheerful voice, Yeo Ri couldn't help but laugh. It had been a while since she last saw him, and his voice brought up some old memories. It felt nostalgic thinking about the three musketeers—Hyuk, Jin Goo, and In Guk—who couldn't be any more different from one another, yet had a strong bond unlike any other.
"Thank you, Oppa. See you soon."
Yeo Ri ended the call with a light smile, not noticing the strange look Secretary Kwon had given her through the rearview mirror.
Would it kill her to treat him as nicely as she does other people, he thought begrudgingly.
