Chapter 19 - Thoughts!

-Thoughts!-

"Ho! So she has such an interesting identity!" sitting on his room, Jiang Jie watched everything that happened inside the main hall on a floating rectangular mirror screen while sipping some tea given by Hou'er. This mirror was of course not any treasure, it's just a small dimensional window created by him. not only he can view anything he wants with this small window, but he could also even listen to what everyone talking about. It's almost like televisions back on earth.

Standing behind him, Hou'er was looking at the wonderous thing in amazement. Her eyes would shine every time the visuals flickered and sounds heard. She treated it as seeing a very mysterious and miraculous treasure.

"Hou'er, you seem to enjoy this thing too much? Do you want one?" Jiang Jie said lightly as he turned around to stare at the pitiful girl's face. Hearing his question, the poor girl blushed and covered her face with her palms and shook her head, but she didn't run away. Seeing such a cute side, Jiang Jie felt like it made his day.

Back on earth, due to his shut-in tendencies, he barely had any friends. Those few he made, they would only treat him as normal acquaintances. Of course, none of them knew that he was a powerful ESPer who could alter reality to his whim. He could gain many friends and girlfriends by doing that, but what good will it do? If he really gains friends and girlfriends by altering reality, they would be no better than a robot, who only behave according to how it was programmed.

Jiang Jie didn't want that kind of fake consolation, he would rather choose to be alone. And that was why his real fun-loving and mischievous persona was hidden. After coming to this world, he realized that there was no need for him to repress his true self. Coincidentally, Jiang Chao, whose identity he was using now, was close to his real temperament. With this factor on point, Jiang Jie decided to not hold back his true self.

Jiang Jie already started to think of Hou'er as his family. He had decided to take Hou'er with him when he leaves the Jiang Clan in the future. If nothing else, he wouldn't be alone with her accompanying him. Despite having superhuman level intelligence, God level powers, Jiang Jie still felt that he couldn't measure up to a normal teen of his age.

When he was a child, he would always try to be alone to control his ever-increasing powers. An ESPer's powers were heavily affected by their intelligence and emotions. With just a mere whim, he could cause unprecedented changes to his surrounding. He would always lead an isolated life so that others wouldn't be affected by his uncontrollable powers. Later when he grew up and learned to control his powers, he realized that his attitude had caused him to become a loner. It's too late for him to change.

Unlike those teens, he didn't have a friend with whom he could hang out with. He didn't have a girlfriend with whom he could share his burdens. He didn't have anyone with him…so what if he can alter reality? What good will it do?

He was always looking for a fresh start, coincidentally, Old monster Ye appeared when he was on his emotional low. That's why he secretly felt grateful for that eccentric old man. He also promised himself that in future, if that old man needs any help from him, he would provide it.

As he was thinking of this, a strange gleam appeared on his eye when he saw a few figures appearing in the tiny mirror. The sons of the patriarch of the Jiang finally appeared on the stage.

Hou'er who had just lifted her hand from her face saw the scene and worriedly glanced at Jiang Jie. Trotting in front of him, she looked at him with her big expressive eyes. Cringing her brows, she did some intricate hand signals, as if to say something. Jiang Jie who had all the memories of Jiang Chao understood what she was trying to say and burst out in laughter.

"You want me to attend that?" Jiang Jie asked pointing at the boisterous hall. The little girl only nodded in response while having a worried face.

"Haha! Silly girl. Although that ZhiLing is very cute…I don't like her. I even disdain to perform like a monkey for something trivial like this. Marriage, it should be done when both parties were in love with each other. Before that, it was a bad idea to take that step." Jiang Jie said calmly as he saw how the so-called young masters started to compete among each other to show off in front of the young girl.

Seeing the clueless face of Hou'er, Jiang Jie couldn't help but smile again. This Hou'er was still too young to understand this stuff, so he only shook his head with a smile.

"Come here, let's watch the show together…" Jiang Jie patted the chair next to as he looked at the bashful young lady who had sported a huge blush suddenly.

Hou'er looked at the chair, then to Jiang Jie and finally to the floating mirror as a furious war being fought in her head between her duty and her curiosity. Finally, after a long hard 'war' her curiosity finally won. Though she comforted herself by thinking that obeying their masters is a servant's duty.

When she sat with a red face, not daring to look at him; Jiang Jie smiled secretly and continued to watch the show.

Back on Main Hall of the clan, with the instruction of Jiang Patriarch, the first chosen young master Jiang Long, the second chosen young master Jiang Ru, Jiang Tao, son of the fourth concubine Jiang Chen came out one by one, dressed in expensive looking robes. They all held their head high as if they are dragons among lizards or Phoenix among chickens. The arrogance as a young master of a top clan in the Lyon kingdom had deeply ingrained into their bones.

Under the lead of Jiang Long, the first young master, they all came out of the side door and respectfully bowed to the patriarch of the Fang clan who was sitting beside their father, then they bowed towards a few elders in the position of grand elder. As for normal elders, there was no need for them to do that.

The Jiang patriarch frowned suddenly when he didn't see Jiang Chao in the group. Looking around he wanted to find him but failed to see him anywhere near. Narrowing his eyes at the four sons of his, he couldn't help but let out a deep sigh.

"Good! Good! These young men are all looking handsome and vigorous." The old patriarch of the Fang family smiled as he praised all the gathered young masters while stroking his beard.

"You overpraise us!" the four men bowed again and thanked him.

"Hmm! The third young master isn't here? Is he alright?" the old man asked as he stared at the four young men. Stealthily he also glanced at the patriarch of Jiang clan, as if to see something.

"Haha! About that, I have gone to call him this morning…but I didn't find him in his courtyard. I think he must have gone outside." Jiang Tao sprang up when he heard the question of the Fang family old man and told him the 'truth.'

The old man frowned in displeasure. He felt like being insulted. It's one thing if he is not well or out of the city, but while he was neither suffering from ailments or out of the city, he still closed to absent today! Isn't he treating them a little too lightly?
