"How...? The last time I saw that guy, he was about to die. How is he here? Looking so... unharmed."
That just gave her the goosebumps.
"This is just absolutely crazy..."
"Wow, my luck is just impeccable, huh. The last members of the Jackson clan, the Demon and the fourteenth princess are here together in a room. What a coincidence." Kyle grinned.
"Jason, we are really lucky aren't we?" He said as he whipped his head around to look at an empty space... Or that was what Emily thought.
In a blink of an eye, Jason appeared, followed by someone whom is wearing a black cloak and a completely white mask.
"We are, but it isn't good to be complacent." Jason replied with a plastered smile. Kyle swirled his head back and looked at Emily, "You already know what we want. We want you and blah blah blah. Well, you get the gist."
"Isn't he one of the laziest villains?" Emily thought to herself unamusingly, but she quickly shook away all her unnecessary thoughts.
In an instant, Beck stood in front of her, getting ready to protect her.
However, in the next second, a voice echoed in her mind.
"Run."
Strangely enough, that seemed to be Beck's voice.
Despite how fearful she was, she just could not leave him alone. It was true that he wanted her to run and all, but... She just could not leave him here. Not that she doubted his ability or anything, it was just that, somehow she felt uneasy if he stayed here alone. It felt like if that happened... He would definitely die.
"...I'm sorry, Beck." She apologised, "There's no way I'm leaving you here. I just can't."
Upon hearing that, Beck looked at her with a hint of sadness, but looked away to face the three others.
Out of the blue, a shadow zoomed passed them and towards the mysterious guy. That prompted Beck and Emily turned their head instinctively to see who it was.
Gritting his teeth, a boy standing at about 5'2" feet was about to throw a punch towards that unfamiliar guy.
However, the man grabbed his fist, as if it was nothing, and threw him across the room like a rag doll. He crashed against the wall and fell onto the ground. Injured, but he still got up again.
He then lunged himself once more to give the stranger a kick. However, he failed again. The man grabbed his leg and threw him onto the ground.
"This is bad, he's letting his anger control him. I need to stop him, otherwise he will die." Beck thought to himself, "But, I can't just leave Emily here. She definitely needs to go."
"Zack!" Emily rushed to the injured boy, who pushed himself up despite his injuries. "Stop! What are you doing?!"
Her words did not reach him, he just completely ignored her. He did not look like himself, instead he looked like he was possessed.
He then launched himself towards the mysterious man, going for another attack.
Fortunately, he was stopped.
"Little one, you should just stay down. You're a burden, you know that?"
It was Beck.
Not the Beck she knew, but that Beck, the one with the red hair and red eyes. He gave Zack a punch to the solar plexus, knocking him out. He then picked the boy over his shoulder and threw him to the side.
He looked at the three other men and smirked, "This is great, there are three of you now. I really need a workout."
At the far right of the three, he spotted Kyle.
"Hey, Kenneth! Remember me? The one that kicked your ass. Have you gotten better at combat?" He sneered, before launching himself to Kyle at an insane speed as he continued, "...Because I don't think I'll be happy fighting someone weak."
Swiftly, he swung the back of his fist towards Kyle's face.
However, it was blocked. "First of all, it's Kyle and secondly, gotten better or not, why don't I let you decide?"
Kyle grabbed Beck's arm and twisted it, tugging it behind his back. He then gave him a kick behind the knee that made him dropped to the ground. Afterwards, he immediately pinned him down using his knee, "Sorry, fire demon. My main mission today isn't to fight you but to kill those Jackson clan members. Since you already knocked him out, it made our job much easier."
"Well done, Kyle. I must say I didn't expect you doing something logical like that. " Jason praised as he walked towards Zack, "I would not like to get my hands dirty, but looks like I have no choice." He unrolled his sleeves and lifted one of his hand. He then joined his fingers together, before piercing them through the Zack's chest.
"ZACK!" Emily screamed as she felt warm tears rolling down her cheeks.
Beck's hand lit up, as he launched a fireball towards Jason, which made him withdraw his hand from Zack. He grabbed Kyle and tossed him on the ground with one hand. He stood up and a sword, that was somehow covered with blazing fire, appeared in his hand, "Looks like I'm not getting rusty."
Emily ran to Zack, who was just covered in blood, and kneeled down next to him, "Zack? Hey! Can you hear me?"
This time she felt somewhat angry than scared. She shot a glare at Jason as she scowled, "Why did you do that?! He's just a twelve years old boy!"
Jason let a laugh escaped his lips, "You have some great eyes, you know that? That look of yours can really send chills down my spine."
Jason just completely ignored whatever she just said and, instead focused on her eyes. That did nothing but fumed her anger. Without thinking, she just stood up and walked towards the him. Once she was right in front of him, she attempted to throw a punch. However, Kyle grabbed her wrist tightly to stop her, before tugging it behind her back.
On the other hand, Beck swung his sword skillfully, aiming for Jason, who dodged swiftly.
Shortly after Beck's first move, the two were engaged in a brawl, which was too fast for Emily's eyes to handle.
Emily struggled as hard as she could to get away from his grip while he was as trying his best to keep the girl in check, "Calm down!"
She paused and turned her head towards him, "Calm down? You guys killed one twelve year old! He was a...a..." She could not find the words to describe him, "Wait, what is Zack to me? Is he my friend? I think that's too early, isn't it?"
Kyle stared at her with a raised brow, "a...?"
"An acquaintance of mine, asshole!" She retorted angrily, "Just let go of me now!"
"Language, missy."
She ignored him and struggled more instead. She was struggling so much that it was hard for Kyle to hold her, finally he had no choice but to admit, "Dammit woman! He's not dead! Jason purposely missed his heart."
That stopped her from moving, as tears just came rolling down again, "Thank goodness."
However, it was too early to be happy. The man with the black cloak was absented for a while now, and Emily had not realised that, since she was blinded by her anger. Suddenly, the man reappeared with Kate. He had his arms around her tiny neck, but it was not too tight till it was suffocating for her, instead it was just enough to keep her in place.
Seeing her brother on the ground, bleeding, was too much for her. Unintentionally, she cried at the top of her voice, "ZACK!"
That was just heartbreaking.
With a forced smile, Emily tried to comfort her, "Kate! Zack is still alive. No worries we'll get you out of this as soon as possible." That was not convincing, especially since she could not do anything since she was being held back by Kyle.
The mysterious man manifested a dagger that was covered with shadow-like fumes. He held it above the poor girl.
Emily noticed it and yelled, "Stop it! Let go of her! She's innocent."
Kyle shook his head with a hint of irritation, "As I say, she's part of the Jackson clan and we need to kill her so as the Zack guy there. But, let me make a deal with you. We'll let them go if you and that demon over there got to follow us. Fair deal, right? It's a two for two."
Upon hearing that, Beck looked at Emily from the corner of his eye, while he retaliated against Jason. Despite Jason being much stronger than Kyle, Beck and Jason seemed on par. Well, ALMOST.
Beck seemed to have a little trouble keeping him engaged because he was so fast, even though he was not using his any sort of ability, it was all hand to hand combat.
"If this continues, Beck might just go down. Is it better if he stop and follow me? And what the hell is the Jackson clan? I have no idea what's going on. I don't know what to do..." Her head just spun with thoughts.
Kyle jerked his chin towards the man in the black cloak, "Make it quick. The last time I checked, that guy has no patience. The deal might be off, if you keep up with this monologue of yours."
That man put his blade closer to Kate, which increased the pressure Emily was feeling. That gesture of his made Kate whimpered. She knew Beck might be mad at her if she do this, but she really did not have a choice. Unwillingly, she answered, "...Alright. I'll go."
"Jason! You heard her, I think we can go now." Kyle announced, Jason disappeared and reappeared in front of her, leaving a little mist trail behind him. Beck quickly launched himself towards him with his sword pointing at him. Jason gyrated and stopped it with one hand. There was a silence before the sword cracked and it launched him backwards. He managed to land perfectly on the ground, despite the impact.
Beck grinned intimidatingly at his failure of an attack. That Beck enjoyed the thrill of fighting someone stronger than him, so when his attack failed to connect with Jason, he knew it Jason was strong. Ridiculously strong.
...And he loved it.
Abruptly, in the next second, he began laughing hysterically as if he was insane.
That frightened Emily.
He was definitely not Beck.
He combed his hair back with his hand and looked at her with his red eyes.
That look of his just made her heart dropped.
"That's some courage you got there, Miss Princess. Making me go with them as well, huh. That's not very nice, you know?" He let out a sigh then continued, "I've have no choice. Beck, you're on your own now."
Beck's eyes and hair slowly returned normal, but once everything was normal, he just passed out.
"Bec--"
Just as she wanted to called out for him, Emily felt a blunt blow at the base of her skull, causing her vision to blur and slowly, it faded to darkness.
The man released Kate from his grasp and the three men disappeared into thin air along with Emily and Beck, leaving Kate alone in the room with her injured brother.
