Chapter 7 - The Hyuga Incident

Today, Chojusen was training as he would any other day. As he saw his father enter his room, Chojusen knew something important would happen. He knew this, because it was still a weekday and his father should still be on duty. The only reason he would be at their home on a Wednesday would be if something important was happening.

Once Choza gathered the attention of both Chojusen and Choji he said "Boys, prepare yourselves. Later on in the evening, we will be attending the birthday party of the Hyuga Clan's heiress."

Chojusen and Choji were equally happy to be attending a party, but Chojusen was a bit skeptical. Why would his dad come back just for a three-year-old's party? Sure, birthday parties were often celebrated, but were they more important than the missions of the village?

Chojusen threw this thought to the back of his mind and quickly changed into more formal clothes. He put on a dark-blue kimono and waited for his father to bring him and his brother to the Hyuga estate.

The trip to the Hyuga compound was uneventful. However, after arriving, Chojusen saw a lot of new faces. Chojusen recognized Shikamaru, Ino, and Naruto, but he also saw a lot of new kids he had yet to interact with.

Ino brought with her another girl with green eyes and pink hair, who introduced herself a Sakura. Shikamaru introduced Chojusen to two boys with spiky black hair, one was very loud and obnoxious, his name was Kiba and the other... wasn't a man of many words, he went by the name Shino.

Since these guys were friends of people he already knew, it didn't take long for all of them to get along. Chojusen noticed that Naruto was having trouble interacting with the other kids, so he approached him. Chojusen said "Hi I'm Chojusen Akimichi… and you are?"

Naruto was astonished that someone actually came up to him. Even though he had been sheltered by his parents, it seems that people treated him somewhat coldly. Naruto didn't know that it was only some of the ignorant civilians that were treating that way and that most, if not all, of the ninja clan heirs didn't have an opinion of him yet.

Since he had grown used to others acting coldly towards him, he had just assumed that everyone disliked him, except for his parents. He never tried to talk with the kids around him, as he was scared that they would reject him as well.

Now that another kid the same age as him came up to talk to him, he felt a bit odd. This was his first interaction with another kid, so his social skills were… a bit "unpolished," Naruto said "I… I'm Naruto Namikaze... pleasure to meet you..."

Chojusen was a bit taken aback by Naruto's formality, but he responded as if it didn't matter. He said "No need to be so formal. Why don't you come join us? I could introduce you to my friends."

After introducing Naruto to the rest of his clique, he noticed that there was another boy alone in one of the corners of the room. This boy also had black spiky hair but it was combed and not just the standard spiky afro that seemingly 90% of the males had in the village.

Chojusen walked up to the boy and introduced him, the same way he did to Naruto. Unlike Naruto, the boy responded with a tone of indifference as if he didn't care about Chojusen.

"Sasuke."

Chojusen knew how to take a hint and left a couple formal words before getting away. It seems that dealing with toddlers for so long had started to make his personality a bit more childish; now he had a grudge to bare. Still, it wasn't anything too serious and he might even forget about this treatment if Sasuke later joined his group.

As the night progressed, Chojusen deepened the friendships he established earlier in the day and eventually it was time for people to give Hinata her presents. This would be the first time Chojusen interacted with Hinata, as she had been busy with taking of of her "birthday's affairs;" whatever that meant.

Chojusen and Choji were each given a present by Choza to give to Hinata. Obviously, they couldn't get the presents themselves as they were just three-years-old, so neither of them knew what gift they would be giving to Hinata. Chojusen didn't really care what present he would be giving Hinata and was instead more excited about meeting her.

When it was his turn to give her a present, he give her the box Choza had handed to him and with a shining smile, he said "Nice to meet you Hinata. Hopefully you like my present, and we can be friends."

Hinata nodded, but Chojusen didn't know if that was in acknowledgement of their friendship or just a courtesy nod, as Hinata had been nodding after receiving a present from each person. Nervously, she said "T-thank you for your p-present. I'd also like… to be f-friends."

Chojusen returned to his father's side, and after everyone finished giving Hinata a present, the party reached its conclusion. Chojusen and Choji were happily discussing about the new friends they made today, all the way until they reached their house.

Eventually, "bedtime" had arrived, but Chojusen spent this time on increasing his skills; with his Yang Awakening Skill he didn't have a need for sleep. As he was training his Body Refinement skill, Chojusen sensed a strange movement in Hinata's energy signature.

Ever since his Energy Manipulation Skill reached Rank S, Chojusen discovered that he could sense an individual's unique chakra signature, and as long he recognized an energy signature, he would subconsciously track it within his teleportation range.

Normally, he wouldn't be alerted by the movement of a person's energy signature, but it was current very late in the night, and it was odd for Hinata to be running at Jonin level speeds towards the forest outside the village.

Chojusen knew something must have happened, so he left a clone in his place and teleported to Hinata's location. When he reached an area about a kilometer away from Hinata's position, he saw a man running with Hinata's body. Chojusen knew Hinata was still alive, as the yang energy in her body was still moving smoothly.

Knowing that Hinata was captured, Chojusen felt the need to do something, but he didn't know exactly what he could do. Sure, the System gave him numbers to quantify his power, speed, and energy, but how was he supposed to know what those numbers signified?

Chojusen didn't want to waste any time, so he just punched Hinata's kidnapper as hard as he could. He wasn't experienced at all in throwing punches, so his punch only landed on the man's left leg.

Chojusen almost immediately knew he had used way too much power, because the moment he started utilizing the complete strength of his physical body, he noticed that the world had slowed down. He knew that this was just an illusion his body created out of his perception increasing to fit the speed of his body, so when the punch actually connected, absolutely nothing was left of the man's left leg.

Chojusen was a bit shaken at the sight of the chaos he had unleashed; behind the man, just the residual air pressure of the force generated by his punch had blown off hundreds of thousands of leaves off the trees and bushes in the area. While the sight of his power was shocking, Chojusen was having more of a problem coping with the sight of bloodied man. Because his left leg had cleanly blown off, blood was constantly being pumped out of his stump.

The man had gone into shock from losing his left leg, and from the constant blood loss he went unconscious. Chojusen lowered the strength of his Yang Awakening Skill down to Yang Transfusion and helped stop the man from bleeding out. Then he casted his Space Locking Skill to disable the man completely.

After dealing with the kidnapper, Chojusen turned to Hinata and used the full Yang Awakening Skill on her. She woke up quickly, but she couldn't find Chojusen as he was still under Void Cloak. Since Hinata woke up, Chojusen had to stop using the Yang Awakening Skill, but he found that he couldn't unlock the hidden potential in Hinata.

Chojusen knew that the greater the hidden potential there was locked away in someone body, the harder it would be to dig that potential out. Since he couldn't do it now, he would just have to try again when his Yang Awakening was at a higher level. Chojusen obvioulyt wouldn't help an enemy like the kidnapper, but for a friend like Hinata, he saw no reason to not help her out; its not like using Yang Awakening would cost him anything...

Chojusen felt it was too much trouble to let Hinata just run around in the forest, so he did her a favor and teleported her to her bedroom. As for the kidnapper, Chojusen was sure that the Hokage would be very happy to see an intruder in their stealth-ware, paralyzed in his office. So Chojusen teleported the comatose kidnapper into the Hokage's office.

This "fight" made Chojusen realize that he needed to better understand his own strength. He would go check out his combat prowess later on, after sunrise.
