Chapter 8 - Prelude To The Adventure

The morning after Chojusen rescued Hinata, he teleported himself to a faraway forest. To test his power, Chojusen began attacking some of the trees and boulders in the forest and would gauge his strength from the maximum amount of damage he was capable of delivering.

Chojusen could punch a tree into near disintegration, so he had to attack something more sturdy to completely understand his power. When he went to a mountainside and punched the mountain, a ten-meter deep hole with a radius of five meters appeared. Chojusen didn't know how his power would compare with a Kage, so he asked the system where he was at.

[Hosts power stat is about half the strength of a weak Kage that specializes in taijutsu. For future reference you can just compare you stats with these numbers: 1,000,000 points in any stat is about equal to the weakest of Kage level figures. 999,999,999 is the highest stat a Kage can have, surpassing a billion points in any stat puts you on an entirely new level.]

"Oh? What level?"

[Reach it and you'll find out.]

Chojusen was not too happy with the system being passive aggressive, but he quickly forgave it. After all, he didn't expect to cross the billion mark for a long time.

Next, Chojusen tested his speed, he decided to count how long it would take for him to cross a hundred kilometers. Chojusen didn't have a stopwatch. However, because he was in tune with time energy, he had a sort of internal clock which could work like a stopwatch if he felt like it.

With the help of his internal clock and his teleportation range sensing abilities, Chojusen determined that he had a max speed of mach 1, but he could only travel at around quarter of that speed if he wanted to be as efficient as possible; mach 1 would consume all of his stamina if he kept running for longer than half an hour.

The battle against Hinata's kidnapper spawned a sense of urgency in Chojusen. Even though he was horrifyingly strong, he didn't know how to use his strength, so now he planned on going on an adventure to learn how to fight. While he was gone, his clones would be playing with his brother and their friends, and he would periodically deactivate the clone and create new ones to find enjoyment amidst the life of constant battle which he would now be living.

But first, he decided to create a couple skills to ensure his survival. Having access to all types of energy became a bit ridiculous right about now. Chojusen only wanted to create some healing skills to make sure he survived even the most dangerous attacks, he didn't expect for the system to tell him that he had created some of the strongest healing skills imaginable.

[Host has learned the Skills: Water Healing, Temporal Restoration, Yin Infusion, and Yin-Yang Recreation.

Water Healing (Rank D | 0/100): The user can manipulate water energy to hasten the process of natural healing. The greater the proficiency, the faster the rate of healing. Current Effect: Double the rate of natural recovery.

Temporal Restoration (Rank C | 0/100): The user can manipulate time energy to turn back time on a wound, so in reality, the wound would have never taken place. The effects of this skill are HEAVILY dependent on time mastery. Current Effect: Time energy can restore an insignificant wound (like a scratch)

Yin Transfusion (Rank C | 0/100): By transferring yin energy to a target, the user can rapidly recover and even improve the targets chakra/energy reserves. Current effect: Recovers a bit of chakra/energy.

Yin-Yang Recreation (Rank B | 0/100): By collecting a sample of the target's energy/chakra and their yang vitality, the user can recreate a part of the targets body. All body parts created with this technique will have a 100% compatibility rate with the targets original body. Current Effect: The user can recreate a fingernail.]

Chojusen was speechless. As long as he didn't run into a space energy user that had a higher mastery of space energy, he could probably survive any encounter.

If he got wounded he could just escape to his personal dimension and heal with water healing. If he got physically tired, he could just use Yang Awakening to restore his stamina. If his energy reserves were empty — which was almost impossible as his control of energy was ridiculous in its own right — he could just use Yin Transfusion to restore his chakra reserves. Even if by some miracle, he got one of his limbs cut off, he could just recreate more limbs after increasing the proficiency of his Yin-Yang Recreation Skill!

In any case, Chojusen felt that he would be "safe" on his adventure. Now, he started observing everything within his teleportation range, before teleportating 10,000 kilometers at a time. Chojusen wanted to see what his options for adventuring were, so he would first fill up the System's Map. Once it was complete. Chojusen would pick where to begin.

Filling up the World Map was much harder than Chojusen expected; the planet had well over 500,000,000 square kilometers of area to be explored, so Chojusen had to teleport thousands of times to fill in the entire map. By the time he finished, his Subdimensional Teleportation had improved twice; it seems that using skills at their maximum potential was the best way to improve them.

Once he did fill in the world map, he was rewarded with the knowledge that the map was nowhere near full completion.

[Host has completed the Planetary Stage World Map.]

Chojusen's face developed black lines... He asked "How many..."

[What was that?]

"How many stages are there!?"

[At your current level you can only learn of the next highest stage, which would be the Universal Stage. You would only be able to fill the map at that point by going through every place in this universe.]

'How can there be more stages than that?!' Chojusen internally screeched. He couldn't fathom what would be greater than a universe. But since the system stated that it would only tell Chojusen of the next stage, he didn't ask again.

This talk about extraterrestrial travel and conquer was too distant for Chojusen, so he stopped thinking about it. Right now, all he wanted was to have enough experience to not freak out if he were ever needed in another emergency.

As he was pondering where he would start, the system gave him a new prompt.

[New Mission Alert~

New Mission: Contract a summoning beast in the Land of Summoning. Reward: Depends on the beast contracted.]

Chojusen didn't know why the system wanted him to get a summon, but he was glad to receive a mission as it would be a good place to start his adventure. Now that the entire planet had been filled in his map, Chojusen could directly teleport anywhere in the world. He teleported to the Land of Summoning and began to see what types of beasts he could make a contract with.

As Chojusen strolled through the Land of Summoning, he saw beast clans for toads, snakes, and slugs. When he headed deeper, he found beast clans for hawks, monkeys, eagles, and turtles. Chojusen didn't find anything remarkable about these beast clans, so he continued even deeper.

At the very center of the Land of Summoning, there was a much greater variety of beasts. Most notable were the dogs, cats, lions, tigers, rhinos, and bears. However, it was actually the weakest beast clan that caught Chojusen's attention. When he saw the butterfly clan, it was like his blood caught on fire.

Chojusen directly ignored all the other beast clans and asked to meet with the elders of the butterfly. Since Chojusen was the only human being for thousands of miles, there were many beast clans that wanted to have him contracted. Seeing him ignore them, in favor of the worthless butterfly clan, left multiple beast clans upset to say the least.

Chojusen couldn't care less of the other beast clan's opinions and sat outside the gate of the butterfly clan like a good little boy. When some of the butterflies caught on that a human had come to their clan, they immediately sent word to the elders.

It didn't take long for Chojusen to be invited inside the butterfly clan's territory, and he was directly escorted to the clan's grand elder. Chojusen was brought before a ridiculously large butterfly, it was at the very least, the same size as the Nine-Tails. The butterfly said "Child, what brings you to my butterfly territory?"

Chojusen didn't even hesitate, he said "I would like to form a summoning contract with the butterfly clan!"

The butterfly elder was a bit shocked and confused, but he wanted to test Chojusen, he said "Oh? You do know we are the weakest of the beast clans, with barely any fighting ability, right?"

"I don't care if you are the weakest clan! You are the only clan to make my blood boil, which I think is a sign that we are compatible."

"Oh? You do know that after signing a contract with us you will lose your ability to contract other beast clans right?"

"Why should I care about other beast clans?"

"Well, usually beast clans are contracted so that the beasts can be summoned to help their summoners in battle. If you sign a contract with us and you are like most people that can only sign a contract with a single beast clan, you will only be able to summon butterflies to help you in combat."

"Mhmm? So what? If you can't help me in battle I won't mind."

"Then why are you in the Land of Summons?"

"To contract a beast clan that is like me. It doesn't matter if the clan is weak or strong or if I can summon only weak butterflies."

Chojusen didn't really have to think it through. At just three years old he was already very powerful and there was no need for him to make a contract with summoning beasts to begin with. When he first came to the Land of Summoning he did so with the sole intention of doing this for the mission rewards. But, now that there was a resonance between the butterfly clan and himself, he stubbornly stuck to them, even if it meant losing the right to summon other beasts and that his mission rewards would be trash.

"Child, you are quite resolute… If you really want to be contracted to my butterfly clan, I can only shameless agree. Just so were clear, you can't switch your summoning contract after you sign it, unless you have a special soul, and after you sign the butterfly contracting scroll you will represent the butterfly clan with your actions."

"Say no more! I will sign the contract."

The butterfly elder was more than perplexed. Just what was the current situation? A toddler, probably less than five years old strolled up to the center of the Land of Summons, and after being pestered by countless beast clans, he chose to ally himself with the weakest of the weak?

The elder butterfly caused a scroll to appear before Chojusen. As Chojusen looked at the scroll, he saw that there was only one name filled out. Chojusen actually knew the name and was so shocked that he verbally said "Chosho Akimichi!? The clan's progenitor?!"

As the elder butterfly heard Chojusen, he said "You are also from the Akimichi clan?"

"That's right! My name is Chojusen Akimichi, my father is the fifteenth clan head."

"It must be fate! Your ancestor's choice to contract himself with us was the reason we earned the power to create a territory here in the center of the Land of Summoning. For his descendant to be the second person to make a contract with us, can only be the work of fate!"
