Meiyi suddenly felt she was right to escape from this place as that man could not be trusted! She did feel a bit of guilt before, for leaving her husband like that, but now, all the guilt vanish and only her goal was present. However, she did get the urge to slap him and that urge was suddenly controlling her body and she automatically move out of her hiding place and when her hand was one centimeter away from his face, she realized her mistake and slap the woman besides him!
'Bloody hell' Meiyi curse in her head. Why was she so stupid since she came in that world? She asked herself, wondering if it was the IQ of this body that was affecting her.
She has always been known as a calm, sensible and highly gifted genius in her world, but the moment she came here, all her calmness metamorphosed into uncontrollable emotions and her body no longer listened to her! Meiyi really had to get to the end of this as she did not want to live as a stupid person, but for now, she really needed to use that stupid brain of hers' to get out of this troublesome situation!
Meiyi quickly lowered her head and apologized before blaming 'herself' when she saw that the maid she knocked out was up. She quickly knelt on the floor and beg for pardon and luckily, Consort Guang did not recognize her and went straight towards the 'Empress'.
Luckily, Feng Tianxiao followed her and Meiyi quickly ran towards the exit, but before she reached there, a strange music caught her attention.
The tune played was full of sorrow and pain as if played by someone who lost something or someone dear to them and lost themselves too. Suddenly, Meiyi lost all control over her body and it directly went towards the guqin player.
Meiyi felt every notes pierced through her heart like a knife stabbing her endlessly and her eyes teared up.
She was now in front of broken wooden doors and as she slowly opened them, she could feel a chill in her back. That place was as cold as winter, even thought it was in the middle of summer and the place looks run down and inhabited. Yet, just in front of her, an old but elegant woman was playing the guqin.
Meiyi slowly approached herself and sat in front of the old lady. She was dressed in a plain white robe and even if it's quality could not even be compared to those wore by maids at the palace, her elegance completely made that plain outfit looks like it was made from the most expensive silk fabric and her bare face made her look fresh, even though the few wrinkles on her forehead was betraying her.
She must have been a stunning beauty in her early age, Meiyi though, slowly regaining control of herself as the lady stopped playing and looked straight into her eyes.
"You too, you are filled with sadness my child?" She gently spoke.
"Sadness?" Meiyi asked as she was quite confused. Why would she be sad? Was it because of her endlessly failing to be like her old self?
"Yes... only those who have felt the same way as i did will ever be attracted to my guqin and from the way you were completely controlled by it, it looks like you've been through what i have been... Being abandoned or rejected by the one you love must be hard.. i understand.. me too am.."
"Wait a second... umm madam, i don't think i have that kind of... "
"You might maybe not notice it as you are rejecting that feeling but your heart did react to my guqin... Child, it should be your faith to be here today and I'll gift you some words... i know it's hard to live in this ice cold palace and even if you could see luxuries everywhere, this place is not as heavenly as the commoners may think, sometimes, accidents are not accidents and deaths are simply unsolved murders... this place is filled with heartless murderers that are after fame and power... Even the emperor needs to be vigilant as once he lets his guard down, he might be overthrown, perhaps by his own brother...loving someone in this place is hard and you can always find that this person is not always in love with you.. this is how life is actually... Maybe Buddha is telling you that you are meant to be with a better someone, elsewhere... but, remember that sometimes, the eyes tells you something as there is way too many scheming going on in this place... Even if you saw things with our own eyes, it might be a distorted version of what it really is.. the only thing you can trust is your heart and yourself!"
Meiyi was a bit lost and confused when she heard her saying all these nonsense, but somehow, it kind of appeased her mind and she felt that she was free of something... but there was still something deep inside her that kept wanting to be set free....
