Chapter 51 - Sweet and Sour and Sweet

"I need to go to the Sun Land and ask that emperor for an explanation. My sister had died on his land, he had better have something good to tell me, or I will bring war upon his lands," Lord Aten was ready to march immediately into the Sun Land to ask for what reason could some lowly man dare to treat his little sister that way.

"Um…uncle?" asked Tria.

"Hm..what is it? Wait what did you call me?"

"Uncle," Tria answered innocently, she had to get his mind off war, she did not want for that to happen.

"Hahaha, yes that's right! I am your uncle little rabbit," he said full of smiles, he had already forgotten that he was about to prepare for a war with the Emperor, after hearing Tria's voice calling him uncle, nothing else mattered.

"Hm, I'm so glad to meet you uncle, I hope we can get along well?"

"Of course, that is a given," he said as he laughed, then he looked at Crei, "he is your husband?"

"Yes, he is. Husband, introduce yourself to Uncle," said Tria politely.

Lord Aten nodded his head in contentment, not only had he gained a niece and a nephew-in-law.

However, Crei's lips twitched at the thought. He had previously wanted to murder him, and now he was his in-law.

"My name is Crei Chen, the husband of your niece, uncle-in-law," said Crei with a smile that had daggers hidden within.

"Crei...Chen? A royal?" Lord Aten asked with squinted eyes.

"A royal prince, the third prince of the Empire," said Tria.

"Oh-ho, well given that my nephew in law is the son of that guy's, I won't go rage a war in the Sun Land, however, I still require an explanation. Right now, I must go celebrate this reunion, care to join me?

"Um, we would love to, but we are so tired from the journey," said Tria apologetically.

"Alright, go on, this old man will go enjoy some wine that has been fermented for too long now," then he looked at Crei, "nephew-in-law, tomorrow you better join this old man to a drink."

He then walked away merrily humming songs to himself.

"Wifey, I didn't know you were so crafty, you stopped him from marching his army upon the Sun Land," whispered Crei into Tria's ears.

"Yeah, that is the most that I could do, he must be hurting a lot from knowing that his sister had died. Also, isn't crazy how the Lord of the Moon land ended up being my uncle. It means that my mother wasn't such a simple woman."

"Indeed."

"But how did she fall for that dim-wit father of mine, and Madame Ashir, I am sure she had something to do with the pregnancy. I will need to look deeper into what happened when we go back home."

"I will be sure to help you, wifey."

"Thank you."

"We have to sleep now, and going back to our earlier discussion, wifey, I really believe that we should sleep on the same bed, after all, we are married."

"Hmph! Who doesn't know what you are thinking of?" Tria glared at him.

"I won't go on your side of the bed, promise?"

"You really promise?"

"I do."

"Fine, then let's go, if you break your promise, I will break something of yours."

"Scary wifey, but I know you won't, after you ne-"

Pah!

Tria lightly smacked his lips shut and rolled her eyes at him as they laughed and walked inside the house.

Lord Aten who has already left, was back into his study room sitting at a table lost in thought. He was not in the mood to go drink right now, he was simply reassuring Tria that he was alright.

His beloved sister had died, because of depression? He could not believe it. His sister was a headstrong woman that was not that fragile, there had to be a scheme that led to her death.

"Mgor!"

"My Lord."

"Go to the imperial palace and inform the emperor that I will visit the Sun Land…soon," he said as he wrote something on a piece of cloth and examined it. Then he folded it and placed it his robes.

"Yes, my Lord."

If anyone had dared play a scheme against Elaine, he will have them trapped into a timeloop, to be tortured endlessly, where they will experience true sorrow and misery.

That will be the price for taking his little sister's life.

As Lord Aten was calculating the painful end of his sister's murderers, on the other side of the castle, in the guest house, Tria and Crei was sleeping soundly, cuddled up, despite their earlier claims promising to keep to themselves.

It was a cold and a beautiful night. Crei had his arm around Tria, who had her back against his muscular chest and using his hand as a pillow, making sure she was comfortable. They slept soundly and happily, for the first time in bed together. Tria was deeply asleep as normal, but Crei has a smile pasted on his face throughout the night.
