Chereads / Priestess Of The Land / Chapter 26 - Earth Land

Chapter 26 - Earth Land

After days of traveling nonstop, Tria and Mexi had finally reached the first town in Earth Land. This Land was very different from the Sun Land, cultivators living here could only absorb the spiritual energy from the earth. The inhabitants were also different, they looked like normal human beings, except their ears were pointy, their skins glowed as well, but their bodies seemed translucent, which indicated that they were one with nature.

It amazed Tria to see such a wonder, and the people were quite hospitable. Tria and Mexi's figures stood out because of their skin tones, but the people did not feel surprised since they get travelers all the time. After checking into an inn, Tria and Mexi were digging into some local food, they ordered some potato soup loaded with bean sprouts and seitan.

"This so good, I can't believe it's not meat," mumbled Mexi with a mouthful of food.

"Me neither, apparently they do not eat meat here, since doing so would disturb their spiritual energy," answered Tria marveling more at the amount of food Mexi was eating.

"Mexi in a while, I need you to go find out if they have any slaves trading around"

"Yes, senior sister, I'll go now."

"Hmm."

-A while later

"Senior sister, I have found a slave trading place, however, they are about to send the remaining slaves they have to the capital."

"Let's go there now."

As they reach the slave trading place, there were people outside loading slaves onto a carriage.

"Excuse me, I am interested in these slaves, would it be possible for you to wait a moment."

"Oh hello there! You are the new travelers in town, right? Sure, sure, come right this way," said a little man, while signaling Tria and Mexi inside, "you came just in time, I was just about to send the ones I have to the capital to-

"Oh, there is no need, I will just buy everyone you have right now."

"Everyone?" the little man was taken aback, there were more than 20 people on that carriage.

"Yes, everyone."

Although the little man was surprised, this was good business for him.

"It'll be 10 hedj per person, and I have about 21 people, so 210 hedj."

"Mexi, pay him."

The currency was the same on all the lands, everyone used silver, but they called it hedj. So, 100 hedj was equivalent to 100 silver.

Taking the whole carriage of people back, Tria had Mexi rent a house, so she could take a look at everyone, as well as to give them somewhere to rest.

Forming two lines in front of Tria and mexi, were the slaves with some of them injured, while the others were either solemn or scared.

Sensing the odd vibe, Tria used her ability to slightly relieve the mood while saying, "Everyone, I understand that buying everyone together may seem skeptical to you and so you're scared. Don't be, although I have bought you, you are now a free person," she started burning their slaves' contracts, "I will heal your injuries, and you can eat and sleep here tonight. Tomorrow, you can decide to either stay or leave, I will not stop you, nor will I force you stay. However, if you decide to stay, you will need to pledge your loyalty to me."

Tria started treating some of their injuries using her medical skills, she did not use any of her abilities, since she did not want to startle the snake.

Finished she bid them good night.

"I will see you in the morning, Mexi, let's go."

Watching Tria and Mexi go and leaving them in that big house along with food with a place to sleep, the people were happy, but some of them were still skeptical.

"I don't believe she's up to any good, now that I am free, I will go to the Unknown Land and find riches," agreed a few of them.

"Hey! Chukah, you want to come with us?"

"No, I'm staying," said a man who was examining the wound Tria had taken care of for him.
