Chapter 17 - Maid Attack (Part 3)

Dark Lord of Tartarus

***

Aesyla and Mira entered the cave and several running footsteps can be heard from within. It was the soldiers from the outside that ran inside the mine.

The mine has lamps all around the walls, this made moving forward easy – but even if the cave doesn't have any lights, the maids will have no problem with it for their master gave them a special ability.

As the two maids walk in further the mine, they saw the soldiers lined up in a defensive position. Magic rifles and Bullet Machine Guns all pointed at the maids.

"Oh here they are." Aesyla said.

"Wow, they're really preparing for us. Haha, they've all lined up."

The maids find this amusing because they know, they're nothing but trash that needs to be cleaned up to have a clear and clean way.

"ALL UNITS FIRE AT WILL!"

As soon the soldiers had a clear sight of their enemy, they immediately opened fire.

Rains of bullets and magic particles were headed for the maids as well as the Greater Skeleton Warriors and Rock Golems.

The skeletons used their shields to defend against the soldiers' attack while the golems used their arms.

The maids, however, did nothing but stood still.

"EVERYONE KEEP AT IT!"

Loads of machine gun bullet shells fell to the ground and countless bullets flew to the maids – the maids were at the very front so they are the ones who took most of the enemy attacks.

After several seconds has passed, the ammo of the machine guns has run out while the magic rifles have overheated so they stopped their firing. But what they saw shocked them.

"W-What the hell?"

"I-Impossible."

"No way."

Several mutterings came from the confused soldiers.

They saw the maids upfront were unharmed, there was not even a scratch. They didn't believe it, but it was apparently evident.

The bullets were all on the ground. They don't understand anything.

"What are you?!"

A soldier cried out and opened fire at the maids with his magic rifle. The soldier fired for about ten seconds, and after that, his eyes widened in shock.

The magic particles just disappeared right before it could hit their skin.

"W-w-w—what?

The soldier asked quietly as he tried to ponder what is happening.

"Are you finished with your welcome humans?" Mira said.

"No, follow up attack?" Aesyla said.

The soldiers wanted to attack again, but after they have seen that their attack did not harm the maids, their hands won't move. If they can't even damage them, what's the point of fighting back against them one more time?

"Are they invulnerable?"

One of the soldiers quietly asked, but of course, as a werewolf, Mira could hear the man and so she answered his question.

"Well, for you? Technically yes. You humans are very weak I should say."

The soldier shrugged in surprise as the maid answered his quiet question.

"She can hear me?"

"Of course, wolves have keen ears, so why would she not hear you from that distance." Aesyla answered.

The soldiers didn't understand the maid's words, what do wolves have to do with it?

"As I see, you have no intention to resist anymore, so I guess it is our turn." Aesyla said.

"Let me handle them."

Aesyla looked at Mira.

"—Fine. But don't use any magic."

"I know." Mira said in a cheerful voice.

Using magic inside a tight space in a mine would be very dangerous and foolish. It's possible that using a spell inside the mine would cause it to collapse. If they would cause the mine to collapse, it would be too troublesome to get their goal, it won't just be troublesome but also will be very difficult, especially when they are not supposed to take too long. The master would be disappointed if they fail this trivial task.

Mira walked forward and slowly approached the soldiers.

The soldiers took a step back as Mira slowly approach.

Mira readied her staff and held it tightly on her right hand – getting ready to take out the humans. She held her staff in a way that it was in a diagonal position – the top edge is lower and lower edge higher.

As Mira approach the soldier, their fear began to escalate with every step. Her broad smile only increased her beauty, but that is not to be admired with. Ultimately when they know their death is coming.

"E-Everyone s-shoot! We won't go down without a fight!"

There was a delay of response after their leader said that, but after the delay, they opened fire to the maid. Of course, it's all nothing.

All of their attacks just disappeared and bullets only fell to the ground.

Mira ran to the soldiers and waved her staff to every enemy, she even able to take out multiple enemies with a single swing.

They didn't last for even ten seconds, they were all taken out in a swift. Some were cut in half and some may not, but taken a brutal damage so they didn't even live long for a few seconds.

Mira looked at her staff.

"Aaaw, there's blood all over my staff."

She waved her staff vigorously to make the blood fly off the staff.

"There's a little bit left, I should clean it later."

"Let's continue on Mira."

"Yes."

They moved further into the mine until they saw two pathways.

"Hmm, I guess I'll take right, you take left." Aesyla said.

"All right. No problem."

When they were about to take a step Mira heard a high pitch sound. She held out her hand to indicate to stop.

"Sounds… From the left and right pathways." Mira said.

"Sounds?"

Mira watched the left while Aesyla on the right. They readied their weapons.

Then after a few seconds, the source of the sounds finally revealed themselves.

"What?" Aesyla said.

"What a disappointment." Mira said.

Aesyla and Mira looked at each other with a disappointed face.

Turns out the ones that appeared were just drones.

"… Let's just get them out of our way." Aesyla said.

"Yeah."

As the drones are closing in on the two, the two readied their weapons to strike.

Aesyla jumped and hit the drone with her lance destroying the drone. Mira on the other hand also jumped and swung her staff cutting the drone in half. Then they both gently landed on the ground.

"Now let's get to it. Ten skeletons and four golems on me, the rest on Mira."

The minions divided and went to their paths.

The other ten skeleton warriors and four golems followed Mira.

"See you later sis!" Mira said.

Then they all went inside their own paths.

When they have reached the Magic Crystals they immediately took everything that can be seen whether in the carts or the ones that have not yet been reaped.

They were ordered to let none survive, so they sent some skeleton warriors to search around the cave for any remaining opposition, and they did. Several guards and soldiers were hiding within the other parts of the mine, they gave a good fight against the skeletons, but they were killed in the end.

About fifteen minutes has past and they collected all magic crystals that can be gathered. Thus, they went out of the cave, Aesyla and Mira met at where the two paths can be seen, they both finished at the same time in their reaping and they both got out of the mine.

What they both saw first are the totally crushed and destroyed buildings, no structure can be seen still standing. Then they saw the minions all formed up and on standby.

"They did well." Aesyla said.

"Hmm, where's Sia?" Mira looked around and she saw Ambrosia in the middle of the minions. "Oh, there she is! Wait, is she sitting on a human?"

Aesyla looked at each other for a second then proceeded to their sister.

"Sia, we are done." Aesyla said.

"Ah! Finally." Ambrosia looked at the golems carrying bags filled with magic crystals. "That's a ton of crystals! Good job!"

"Sia, why are you sitting on a human? And why is there a glass and a pitcher on the back of that one?" Mira asked.

"Well, I don't have a chair so I used this one." She pointed to the human she was sitting on. "Then on the other, I drank some iced tea and I don't have a table so I used this human. There's still some iced tea left, want some?"

"… Why not?" Aesyla said.

"I'm a bit thirsty so I'll take some." Mira said.

"Okay!"

Ambrosia conjured a pair of drinking glass, then she stood up and gave the glasses to Mira and Aesyla. Next, she picked up the pitcher and filled the glasses with iced tea, and put the pitcher back on the human's back. Then the two drank the drink.

"Aah! That's refreshing!" Mira said.

"Indeed it is." Aesyla said.

"Then I suppose we are done here?"

"Yes we're done. Mira open the gate."

"Okay. [Gate]"

A blue portal appeared.

"Minions go in the portal first." Aesyla said."

The minions started to enter the portal.

As of mage, of course, Mira can use the [Gate] spell. The reason why their master himself opened the gate was because he was the only one who went here. Mira never went to the mining site or have seen it, that's why her master opened a gate to the mines, and then when they are going to leave, Mira can open a gate back to the mansion. The [Gate] spell is like the teleportation spell, one can only teleport to a place where they have been or have seen, but the gate is more accurate and efficient.

The two maids have fully drunk the iced tea so they gave the glasses back to Ambrosia.

Ambrosia then returned the glasses to her pocket dimension. Next, she picked the glass and pitcher and returned it to her pocket dimension or in other word inventory.

"Now that we are done here it's time to get rid of the two of you." Ambrosia said.

Both the soldiers shrugged in surprise.

"B-but you said we would live if we get on our hands and knees."

"Y-yeah."

"Haaaah? Have you forgotten what I said, or you didn't understand anything at all?"

The two soldiers then quickly turned to their back and faced Ambrosia.

"I said if you want to live longer, get on your hands and knees, I didn't say you can leave alive."

"… No."

"No!"

One soldier first ran away from Ambrosia then the other guy followed.

"Hmph. [Crimson Icicles]."

Red icicles shot out from Ambrosia's hand as she pointed her hand to the soldiers. Rains of icicles came for the soldiers and of course, several icicles pierce their body and they fell to the ground as their life was taken.

"All right! I'm—." Ambrosia looked at her top. "Wait… The blood harvested from the humans, what should I do with?"

"Keep it inside a container or something." Mira said.

"What!? Blood will taste bad when they're not fresh."

"Then why did you even get all those blood in the first place?" Aesyla said.

"Ah… well, I thought I could drink this when things cool down but I ended up drinking iced tea. I kind of lost the mood to drink blood when everything was no challenge, and I got entertained so yeah…"

Aesyla sighed.

"Then what should you do with it?" Aesyla asked.

"What about just dump it?" Mira said.

"That would be a waste." Ambrosia said.

"Then drink it." Mira said.

"But I just drank iced tea, I can't drink this many blood anymore."

"You can't bring that to the mansion. So that means you have no choice but to dump it."

"Haaaah… you're right. I'll just throw it away then."

Ambrosia waved her hand and the orb of blood flew a few distances and hit the ground splashing blood all around.

"Then shall we go now?" Aesyla said.

"Yup. Let's go." Mira said.

"Yeah, let's get out of here." Ambrosia said.
