Chapter 41 - POISON HER MEAL

He was surrounded by the thousand Huns, his sword dropped from his hands and he saw armed like looking for his daughter in the deep dead well.

The last word of the king was a gesture for Huns, to finish General Zhong and their next step was definitely to finish him.

A sword fell on his shoulder but another block the path, "He is defenseless and we cannot make a move on a defenseless," a man shouted, then they all saw the condition of General, he was looking like he was lost in a vast desert, lost himself, muttering something under his mouth, "My daughter, she is innocent."

All the Hun shifted their bivouac same night taking lost General with them bounded in chains.

After a few years, they broke his chains and kept with them.

King was afraid that if he told that his daughter was alive he would could ruckus or might run away. This was a weapon to dispirit him before his death, though he could not kill his daughter presently he would definitely kill her in the future.

In the secret pavilion of Palace four advisors were sitting and perplexed why King was silent though he himself invited them to discuss something important.

"I think it is the right time to fix the last thorn of my eyes," King finally looked at his advisors who were muddling in their minds to reach the reason why King invited them.

"I am thinking the possibilities to get rid the daughter of General Zhong," he looked at his advisors who finally expanded their pupils to hear what King spoke of.

They fell into deep thought, "I think we have solid reasoning too," the sharpest eye advisor spoke with confidence.

Everyone looked at him and he spoke, "I have heard that Miss Henan Zhong practice Archery which is against conventions being a girl," he spoke constricting his eyes.

"But it would not be sufficient excuse for her death because in such matters warning is necessary to be announced in public and it would alarm her about our intentions or cause her suspicions the missing matter of her father," the King briefly expressed his concerns.

"I have investigated a matter if my King gives his consent to relate it," an advisor rose up and bowed, King gestured him to continue.

"My King you ordered some soldiers to slaughter the kins of the elder brother of General Zhong a year ago in the silence and dark," King squinted his eyes.

He indeed ordered to slaughter all those who were loyal and blood-related to General Zhong so that he would easily finish his daughter at the end but the soldiers were failed to capture and slaughter the kins of elder brother of General Zhong and he ordered his advisor to in investigate the matter deeply and then he was busy in other matter and he did not ask about it further.

"Tell me what you investigated?" King asked impatiently.

"Miss Henan Zhong practice a special reflexive crossbow and its component shafts are also different in size relatively, one of the soldier who was among them who went to capture the kins of elder brother of General Zhong was killed with that shaft in his throat, these shafts were bought by Miss Henan Zhong from the shop of the old Chen, just that I have the notion that she is aware of these orders of my King," he carefully related to King.

King looked astounded, "Did you investigate further?" he asked.

She injured some thieves who broke in a jeweler shop and she used to wander in the night and help common people but for previous six months she is silent or did nothing in the royal state, I have an impression that she was not here," he concluded his investigation.

King was short of words but his expanded eyelids were evident that he was shocked.

"If she knows anything then it is urgent to get rid her as soon as possible," King got agitated.

"Few maids work in her mansion, other than her caretaker, we can target one of them bribe to poison her meal and in this way, we can get rid her in silence," the smartest advisor spoke up this time, listening to this it seemed that all worries of the King calmed down and he nodded with mischievous smile.

Wei Lan spent most of her time in the herb garden of the mansion while Jie Lan took care of Henan wholeheartedly.

Both sisters were in good condition because Henan was different from other noble girls; she did not burden them with anything extra and never scolded them for any mistake.

Mansion was guarded by loyal soldiers of General Zhong.

It was a wet day and Henan had ordered some special dishes for dinner, three maids work in her kitchen odds.
