Leo stopped as he turned to see how far back Luna and Hunter were. They were only a few meters away as the came into view. Hunter helped Luna over the bank as they reached Leo. Leo turned to an old building and pointed at it.
Luna smiled at the building, "What cute home."
Leo smiled as he wagged his tail, "Thanks its been a labour of love every time I come here for the winter. And yet time is never en—" the door fell from its hinges, Leo sighed as he turned to Luna, "Never enough time to completely repair it before winter."
Hunter stared at amazement at how the building was ready to fall apart. "Leo, is that place even safe?"
Leo nodded, "Yes, but we do need to fix the door and a few windows before night fall. That is if you don't want a chilly night?"
Hunter grumbled as he followed Leo to the building Luna walked over a small garden. Her eye lit us as tears escaped her. She wiped them away as the Fer'Longa nuzzled against her. Luna caressed the beasts chin as it comforted her, but her emotions escaped her as Luna buried her face within the beasts' fur. Luna tried to muffle her sobbing as she remembered her parents.
How Margert tended to a small garden. Luna felt as if she was failing her calling, her purpose. Luna wondered if all her efforts were in vain or were, they worth every action she has taken. In order to stop Demora?
Luna's mind raced as wallowed in self pity. She turned to see Hunter arguing with Leo about how the door should be fixed. Luna smiled as felt some ease with, knowing that Hunter was on her side.
"Look, the door needs new hinges and a new frame! If we don't change it the door will fall of over night!"
"Hey, don't yell at me! I know what I am doing, and if you want to sleep in the cold and not in the warm house. So, either help me get this door back on or stay out in the cold. I know the door needs fixing, but we are not going to able to fix it today. We just need it to do its job for the night!"
Luna smiled softly as a shadow touched her shoulder. She turned around to see a young man covering his face with a blank mask. Luna went to scream, but the man covered her face.
"Easy Lady Luna I come her with a message from someone."
Luna stared at the man; she could tell he was no threat as he pulled his hand away. "What is it then?"
The masked man nodded, "Yes, the message I have is for you and Hunter to head to the south, the group you are after is moving this winter to the southern edge of Groma. They are making their move to attack. You must stop them."
Luna stared at him confused, "Wait how do you—"
"My master has eyes and ears everywhere and knows of your quest. He to is fighting the Faremin and keeping you and the other Ren-Ky's hidden through his actions." The man answered.
"Who is your master?"
The man softly laughed. "His name is not important; I must go before Hunter see's me. Things are complicated but I am a summon. And my master knows a great deal about you and the others. When the time comes you two shall met."
The man stood up and walked into the forest, vanishing into the shadows. Luna stretched her hand out to him as she felt a renewed vigor wash over her. She smiled as she stood up.
"Hunter, just do it as Leo says, you and Leo can do the full repairs in the morning. Besides our trip to the north is now south." Luna walked up to them.
Hunter raised his brow. "How-where did you get that information?"
Luna turned to him, "We just had a messenger come to us. He told me that the are on the move this winter. Were they have people to survive the journey we have to wait out the winter? But they are going to attack if we don't get to them this spring."
Hunter bit his nail, "Great, now things got complicated. Hey, Leo, how long would it take once the snow starts to melt to get to the southern border?"
Leo sighed, "It would take us three weeks, which is one sixth of the time to get to there current location. If we go by Fer'Longa, it would take us a week."
Hunter raised his brow at him, "Yet I am guessing that they are not any where near us?"
Leo nodded, "Yes, I would have to send Pip to get two others over here, but they are all in their dens. Readying themselves for the winter and don't come out until the first sign of the thaw."
Hunter looked over at the Fer'Longa, "Wait, its name is Pip?"
Leo nodded once more, "Yes, he lost his mother and I have been raising him by myself. Typically, we help the mothers anyway, but Pip is special. Since he doesn't have a mother, I was given the honour of raising him."
Luna smiled, "That's nice, at least he had someone who truly cared for him enter his life."
Leo sheepishly smiled, "Yes, by the way was the messenger a man or beast?"
"Man, he wore a mask and said something about his master keeping the Faremin busy?" Luna answered questioning Leo's motives.
Leo sighed, "Lets head inside, I might know who he was."
Luna turned to Hunter as he shrugged his shoulders. They followed Leo in, closing the door before sitting down. Leo grabbed an item from his mantle and placed it in front of them.
"The man you probably met was Shadow, a wolf summon spirit of a man called Black Wolf. HE came to me about two weeks before you two arrived in my forest. He said that a man and a woman were coming to the forest to find a group of people." He looked at Hunter, "Shadow said to give you this," He revailed the item, it was sword.
Hunter recognized the sword, "Wait, that's the blade I was looking at before…Before we…" Tears started to stream down Hunters face. "How? How did this Shadow fellow know?"
Leo shook his head. "I am unable to tell you, since I have been cursed to not tell you who Black Wolf is or Shadow. All I can say is that you knew both of them and that your paths will cross when you least expect it."
Leo showed the curse mark, Luna turned her gaze away. "So, if we know them, then that means they are hiding from us?" Hunter stared at Leo as he spoke. "I am right, am I?"
Leo shook his head, "Yes and no. Yes, they are hiding from you two, but no, you two are not the only ones, but many who knew Black Wolf before—" The mark shocked Leo as he tried to explain. "Sorry I guess that is as much as I can tell you without giving you too much information about him."
Hunter sighed as he turned to Luna. "Luna, who ever this Black Wolf person we know he is doing something to piss off the Faremin."
Leo leaned forward, "More like making them piss themselves in fear. Since he made Azoth cower in fear."
Luna shot her gaze to Leo, "Wait, Azoth? Really?"
Leo nodded, "Yes, some of his other summon give those who are to help the Ren-Ky's get stronger information about what going on. From what I was told Wolf shot Erin and made her fall to her knees, where Azoth stood in shock because of what happened in her wound. I don't know how or where Wolf acquired a gun that shots bullets that utilize sun stones, but he made Azoth back down after he got him to have a chat." Leo sighed as he looked out the window, "All I know is that Wolf threatened the Faremin Counselors and from there they are now needing to take care of him before he gets out of hands."
Luna stared in shock. "So, if he is that powerful why doesn't he—"
Leo turned to her. "Because, he wants the ones who stared this journey to finish it. Trust me I asked him. I was confused since the Ren-Ky of Light has no trainer? It just doesn't make sense?"
Hunter leaned back and stared at the ceiling. "Great, what does that mean then? Since I am supposed to be the Ren-Ky of Light?"
Leo shrugged, "Couldn't tell you but I will say this, Wolf is both dangerous and not. He has plans that even I cannot understand. Like the fact that he is–"The curse shocked Leo again. Luna jumped from her seat, but Leo raised his hand and stopped her, "Its all right. I just went to far. Besides I you have other matters to take care of over worrying about me. In the morning Hunter and I will do some repairs. I think this winter is going to be long, I will tell you everything I can of what is going on outside threw his summons."
Hunter nodded, "Okay, then let us get some dinner going, I am starved."
Leo laughed, as he got up. "Well then let us get cooking. I will need some help since its getting late."
Luna nodded as she got up, Hunter followed suit. Making their way to the kitchen. Leo looked out the window to see Shadow nodding at him before leaving. Leo sighed at he entered the kitchen.
