Luna looked around to see the trees swaying in the wind. This caused a calming effect, which made Luna take it all in. Hunter looked back to see Luna standing in the sun. He smiled, but it faded as something approached from behind her. He rushed over as the beast rushed towards Luna. Hunter pulled his sword and blocked the creature's advance. The creature jumped back as its ear flicked back. Hunter noticed a band on its ear as it ran off.
Luna was shaken by what had just transpired. When a young man walked from their left. "Sorry about that. thought you were poachers?"
Hunter sighed as he sheathed his blade. "Apology accepted, but next time don't send your pet? Poachers or not, it might get killed."
The young man smiled, "Your right if it wasn't a Fer'Longa. A type of dragon."
Luna went pale. "Wait, you mean that was Fer'Longa?" the young man nodded. "By the heavens, I thought they went extinct over ten thousand years ago?"
The young man grinned, "They almost did; my family has bee breeding them back since that time. About twenty years ago out country was taken over then two years late the Dracomen came to our aid. Preventing their exposure to the outside world before we could get their numbers to a more stable amount."
Luna stared at him and noticed he was an animilian. "Oh, I see, do you think we could get safe passage through this forest to your people's old homelands?"
The young man stared at Luna, "I can get you to Fetrii pass and that it. The Dracomen don't want us going any farther than that."
Hunter raised his brow at the idea, "That is on the opposite side of where we need to go? We need to get closer to what remains of Fairwind? Not closer to the Faremin kingdom?"
The young man chocked, "Wait, you mean to say you are not going to the north?"
Luna shook her head, "No, we are in search of allies that have been rumoured to be around the Old Kingdom of Fairwind. Where defects of the Faremin have set up. Do you think you could help us get there?"
The young man turned away, "I am sorry, but those people you speak of left the area over six years ago. They went farther north, I think."
Luna sighed in disappointment, "That's great, and we came all this way. I hope Hiro and the other are faring better?"
Hunter nodded, "yeah, with this thrown into the mix, things are going to be tough. Especially if we have to travel through the Faremin kingdom."
The young man sighed as he walked past them. "Follow me." He turned to look at them. Luna and Hunter stood in shock as they looked at him, "Don't just stand there, you need to talk to them, right? I can take you there, but we will have to stay in my eastern home for over three months since winter will be upon us by the time we reach it. Oh, by the way, my name is Leo, I am a dog type animilian as you can tell."
Luna smiled as she introduced herself and then Hunter. Leo smiled as he led them deeper into the forest as their guide.
In the distance, Leo looked back to see a masked man nodding at him. The man smiled as a black wolf came from his shadow. "Wolf, you know, cannot get any closer if. I Luna sees you she might—"
"Enough Shadow, I know that. Besides, I was more interested in how it is doing." Wolf turned around. "Right now, we have other pressing matters, like keeping Azoth on a short leash. If he gets in the Ren-Ky's way, all will be for not. Come, we need to head to Foxriver before Azoth does. Since he would love to fight me." Shadow could tell he was smiling behind his mask as they disappeared into the shadows.
