Hunter grabbed the sleeping bags as Kito set up the fire for the night. Mo glanced over at Hunter, sending chills up Hunters back. Kyle looked up at the sky before fixing his glasses.
"It's going to rain tonight. We better set up in the back of the carriage—"
Kito propped up a tent, "We have three tents, Mo hates it when people sleep in the leaky carriage."
Kyle checked the canopy of the carriage and noticed the holes. "Okay then, we sleep on the ground then."
Kyle went over to help Kito set up the tents as Mo walked over to Hunter, "Lets talk over here, Hunter?" Mo whispered into Hunter's ear.
Hunter turned to see where Mo was heading and followed. Hunter walked behind Mo for a while before he stopped. Hunter stopped as Mo turned around. "So, Vann, what do you want to talk about?"
"Temper, Temper, you have changed a lot within the last eight to nine months. But let us get onto business, shall we?" Mo grinned as he stared at Hunter.
"Okay, then?" A shive washed over Hunter as he waited to hear what Vann wanted.
"Now you know that if you don't kill Lovell, Kyle will die? Now, if for some reason, Kyle jumps in the way? You shall still attack Lovell. He is the evil that we must rightfully get rid of. If he is to live, he will take everything from you."
Hunter began to think of Vann's words, staring at the ground, his eyes racing back and forth as he tried to make sense of Vann's words.
"Besides, if you kill Lovell, you will become a real person in my eyes. The original son of Azoth. That means that you will be recognized as Azoth's living son. Even if you are not a theyan like him?"
Hunter looked up at Vann, seeing that his words were something he was yearning for. "Are you telling the truth?"
Vann shrugged, "Who knows for sure? But I do know that you would have a father and be the prince of the Faremin kingdom. You know that you want to this? So, no matter what? Remember, that Lovell is going to use the goddess to take your life and the whole world with him if he succeeds." Vann begun to walk back to the camp. "Just remember what I have told you. Because Kyle is misled, and you are the only one who can save him."
Hunter stood still as he began to think about what he was doing, and if what he was doing was the right thing. If Vann was right or was Kyle. Hunter gripped his head as it began to hurt from the confusion within him. He wanted to scream as at the pain but with heald as to not cause a commotion.
Kito looked up to see Mo return. He looked around to see that Kyle was away.
"Where's your brother?"
Kito sighed, "I sent him to gather more kindle while the ground is still dry. And you? How was your talk with Hunter?"
Mo began to chuckle. "Better than expected, he is questioning who is right and who is wrong? By the time we meet up with Lovell and his gang. Hunter will be on our side once again. But will end up killing without knowledge of Kyle's death and his."
Kito looked over to the fire, "I know this is not my place, but could we let Hunter live? Even if he is being lied too? I think letting him live will benefit us rather than killing him."
Mo stared at him, "Are you insane? If we let Hunter live, he will try and take revenge? Who knows what he is fully capable of now that he is more—" Mo shivered "—his own person?"
Kito closed his eyes before turning to see Kyle return. "How much did you find?"
Kyle raised his arms and shrugged, "Nothing, there is not even a twig that would be great kindling. How is the fire doing?"
Kyle sat across from them, "It's doing well. Yet if there was more fuel for the fire, it would last the night even with the rain."
Kyle sighed as Hunter walked out of the woods, "Oh, Hunter, where did you run off to? I would have liked it if you helped me find some dry kindle to keep the fire going through the night?"
Hunter did not respond, walked over to the tent and lay down. His mind lost within him. Kyle looked at Kito, who shrugged his shoulders. Kyle then looked at Mo, his eye glaring at him.
Mo threw his arms up in defence, "I did nothing, I swear!"
"you better have not had or else." Kyle channelled lightning over his body.
Mo was surprised at Kyle's reaction when Kito got up and stood between them. "Now, now. We are all on edge. Why don't you two get some sleep and I will be on the first watch. Kyle will be next then Hunter then lastly Mo. Sound fair?" Kyle nodded. "Good now take one of the tents and get some sleep, in a few hours I will wake you."
Kyle enters the tent next to Hunter. Unaware that things were falling into Mo's plan. Mo smiled as he waited for Kyle to be asleep before casting a binding spell in Kyle. Allowing Mo to control Kyle as he pleases before setting Kyle's demise into action.
