The days passed as they reach their destination, Hollowed Basin. The land was torn and battered, with no signs of life left within the earth itself. Hunter scanned the area to see the remains of an old village scattered around and large broken tower off in the distance.
Mo felt uneasy as he looked around. "The Hollowed Basin. I never thought I would see this place?"
Kito closed his eyes as he could recall his time within the battle that ensued upon these grounds. "I wish I could never return to this blood soak land."
Kyle looked at his brother. "Kito, you fought here?"
He nodded. "Yes, back when I first joined this land belonged to the Inroar Dynasty, but when we—I mean the Faremin kingdom decided to take over the land, it was one of the bloodiest battles that had been recorded within the Faremin history. The King had used a spell to oust the land from the Faremin. Kill thousands—if not millions of lives."
Kyle looked over the land and felt uneasy as they advanced. "So, who known the land now?"
"Neither side," Mo answered. "It was decided that neither side would have the land as it became a testament of how power full the beastman king truly is. Or so I have heard."
Kito nodded as Mo stopped the carriage. Hunter could feel the tension on the air as they walked over to a clearing. They walked up to a statue and saw it was of the battle. Man and beast lying on the base with a beast folk standing over them holding an orb.
The sound of footsteps caught their attention as they noticed Lovell and his gang coming over. Lovell looked up to see Hunter. His face is calm as he moved closer. The others seemed stiff at his presence.
Hunter walked up to them. Then one of them walked up to him, holding a sword to his neck. "What are you doing here?"
Hunter raised his arms as Kyle waiting in angst. "We were sent by Gotama, we are here to talk."
Lovell grabbed his hand. "Very well, Zero, stand back."
Zero huffed as he walked over to a girl. She seemed reclusive as she held her staff. "Zero, that was not nice, even if we don't trust—"
"Zephyr enough, I know that he was the enemy, but he seems different?" A red-haired girl snapped. "Besides, if he is with Gotama, then he must have either been a spy or a traitor?"
"True, but Scarlett, what of the other three?"
Lovell smiled as he noticed Kyle, "Well, Gale, I know that Kyle over there is a spy and that something must have happened between Ark's death and now for Hunter to change sides?"
Fang walked forward, "Lovell, we came here for a reason?"
Lovell nodded as he turned to Hunter, Mo smiled as he moved behind Kyle. Pulling out a blade while Kito walked forward. Lovell noticed that Kito had a darkness that felt familiar.
"Who are you?" Lovell asked.
"I am Kito, Kyle's older brother. But you might know me better by my alias, Vail." Kito felt cold as he could feel Vail trying to take over.
Lovell knew what was going on as he walked up to Kito. He lifted his hand to Kito's face and closed his eyes. Kito stood in shock as a light began to emanate from Lovell. Kito felt a warmth wash over him as he could feel the darkness fade. Lovell back up, ravelling Kito no longer cursed. Kyle and Mo stood in shock as they saw the spell break from Kito's body.
Mo knew that Lovell has done the impossible and had to die. He sent a glare to Hunter. Hunter felt his stare penetrate his very being. Hunter drew his blade and went to strike Lovell. Kyle went to stop him when Mo took control, stopping him. Lovell's friends went to charge when Kito used a spell to stop them.
"You trick us!" Zero barked.
Kito looked at him, his eyes filled with regret. "I am sorry, but this must be done, please understand?"
Lovell noticed that Luna began to worry as she began to watch their battle began. Lovell felt as if something was wrong as Hunter charged with more anger. Kyle felt helpless as he could not move. Mo started to laugh in glee. As he undid his illusion. Kyle turned to see that it was Vann pulling strings. His heart began to sink, knowing that Hunter was doing this for him.
Hunter strikes down one after another. Lovell ducking and dodging with millimetres from his face. He then threw a light spell towards Hunter, but he eluded his attack.
Kyle noticed that they were evenly matched, Lovell and Hunter seem to mirror one another's attack patterns. Kyle tried to move as he knew Hunter and Lovell would both die if this battle was to drag on.
Mo leaned into Kyle's ear. "You seem to not able to move since I placed that spell on you a few days ago? Isn't it nice to see your friend suffer knowing that you are the cause of all of this?"
Kyle went pale as he watched. Hunter continued the attack as Lovell tried to look for an opening. Lovell was able to hold Hunter's attack as he struck down. Their blades crapping as they bushed each other back. Lovell's friends watched, Scarlett and Lance watched in horror, while the others were somehow calm.
"Once they finish each other off, you'll be next." Kyle glared at Vann. "Oh, don't give me that look. You see, your brother was a part of this the whole time. Using Hunter like this, killing Lovell and you? Was ordered by his majesty. Yet this was all of my ideas." Vann looked over to see Lovell run off away from his friends. "Oh, it seems we will not be able to see the rest. Let us move to a new location to watch, shall we?"
