The sound of bustling shops and vendors filled the streets with life as Crow, Erin and Lily sat a small café. Lily stared at as people admired Erin for her beauty. While Crow sat stirring her drink and Erin waving at the passersby. Erin looked over to see Crow concerned, she snapped her fingers in fount of Crow's face.
Crow jumped as she looked away. "Erin, please don't do that?"
Erin leaned back in her seat. "Well, you did not hear us asking you 'what's wrong?' So, I did the next best thing to gain your attention." Crow could not bring herself to look at them as Erin sighed. "So, answer us? What's got you, the most terrifying woman in the Faremin forces death squad, so worried?"
Lily reached over to Crow's hand, "Please tell us? We are friends, right?"
Crow closed her eyes. "Its Vail."
Erin looked at Lilly before turning to Crow, "What about him? He's a traitor and deserves—"
Crow slammed the table standing in anger, "You know nothing, do you? Vail and I…" Crows' voice faded as tears began to stream down.
Erin sat in shock as Lily looked away. "You to were or are an item, aren't you?" Lily's voice croaked as she rubbed her arm.
Erin looked at Lily then back to Crow. "Wait? Does that mean…?"
Crow shook her head, "No, I was not part of his…well, you know, but yes, I was aware of what he was doing and found it amusing because I found something to vent while my feelings for him…"
Lily turned to Erin as uneasy tension filled the air. "How long have you loved him?"
Crow sat down, trying to hold back her tears. "since we were kids, but we…never became an item because of what he was doing, and the fact made it seem we never knew each other."
Erin sighed as she tried to wrap her head around Crow's words. "So, you know who he really was this whole time and know more than what the others know?"
Crow shook her head. "No, Azoth has known for some time as well, but has never acted upon it since he saw how much of a kick, I got out of foiling Vails plans. Besides Ki-Vail never actually betrayed, he leaked info out yes, but only to the rebels not to the other kingdoms because of his connections within the rebels."
Lily looked around to see if anyone was watching them. "Well, let's talk later about this stuff. We came to the capital for a reason?"
Erin snapped u in joy. "Yeah, we came here to have a girl's day! So, let's take the bull by the horns and have a great time, besides I think it will cheer you up. Even if it's for just the rest of the day?"
Crow sighed as she looked at the others, "Very well, let's get going before lunch rolls around. So Lily can have her favourite meal of the day."
Erin stood up, "Then let's shop till we drop!"
Crow laughed as she watched Erin almost bounced out of her shirt. Lily turned red as she looked away from her. "Erin, you should wear more supporting clothing, so you don't pop out like that time at the battle of Coran."
Erin smirked as she cradled her bust. "Why, we won thanks to my magnificent beauties." Lily whipped a look at her, as blue flames lite around her head. "Okay, okay, you win. Sheesh, you have become more motherly since, what, eight weeks ago?"
Crow looked at Lily, "That's right, you and Vann had kids of you own?"
Lily looked at Crow as she stood up. "Yes, and we are leaving them with his family since mine disapproves of our marriage and other things we do."
"Ooh, that's right, your parents are one of the more traditional animilian families. They want you to marry a more dignified man over whatever Vann is, right?" Erin's face tensed as she spoke.
Lily nodded as she grabbed her large, patched fox plush. "Yes, and they also hate me for being too childlike. Seriously, they cannot understand that my magic won't work without a medium for me to Chanel." She cradled plush. "Besides, Vann is more of a gentleman than they give him credit."
Crow smiled. "Right, ever since he gave you patch, your magic control went through the roof when you were back in the academy if I remember from what I have heard?"
Lily blushed, burying her face in Patch, "Yes, and he even asked me out after that."
Erin scowled at then, "Well, you two have found your true loves. I'm stuck here, unable to find the right man for me." Crow and Lilly turned to each other and began to laugh. "Hey, this isn't funny, come on, stop it!"
The girls then left and began their shopping trip. Erin dragged them from one clothing store to the next, trying on every outfit she could make, then buying the ones she liked. While Lily stared at every sweat that caught her eye, before beginning dragged by Crow.
"No, wait for me, my sweats!?" Lily protested every time that she was pulled away.
As the day went by, Erin rushed into a store that had a sale, Lily rushed after her as she was getting hungry because lunch was around the corner. Crow stood outside as she waited for them to get out. She looked over to see a traditional elvish wedding dress in a store window. Her reflection matching up with the dress. She began to imagine her walking down the aisle. With white and orange flower petals scattered down the path to the alter. Kito waiting for her at the end dressed in autumn colours with her walking towards him. She shook her head at the thought as she closed herself off.
"No, it will never happen. Besides, Kito is dying with each passing day." Tears began to stream down her face. "I wish there was a way to save him."
Erin lifting her triumph in the air as Lily waked in exhaustion. Erin smiled in glee before seeing Crow crying. Her smile disappeared as fast as it came. Stopping as she watched her friend crumble before, helpless to help Crow in any way. Lily bummed into Erin and was about to open her mouth but then saw Crow. She understood what Erin was seeing, Lily tugged Erin's sleeve. Erin looked down and saw she was worried before thinking of something.
"Almighty, then!" Erin bellowed out, Lily jumped as she covered her ears. Crow snapped back, wiping her tears away. "First things first, let get some lunch and then head to the waterpark!" Erin pointer to a sign showing an advertisement for a new wave pool at the local waterpark. Crow looked to where Erin was pointing and saw the add beside her. "We need this day to a joyous one, not a sad one! So, we need swimsuits and hit those waves of fun!"
Erin tossed her hand in the air, her bags skidding down her arms. Lily nodded in agreement. Crow smiled as she led the way to the restaurant. Lily stared at the menu drooling over all the options, Erin knew what she was getting and place her menu down. She noticed Crow going through the salad options. Erin cast a tiny spark spell in front of her. Crow jumped as she glared at Erin, her face stern with concern.
Crow turned away from Erin. "Look, Crow. I know you are worried, but this will work out. Besides its not like Vann is going to let him fail. Replacing Vail would be too much for him to find a replacement, right?"
Lily snapped back as she looked at Erin. "Well, Vann actually hates Vail, for as long as I can remember, Vann wanted Vail to screw up and get rid of him. The reasoning being is that he never cared about anyone, except his position." Lily turned to Crow, "Yet, now we ladies know the truth that it is not true. He has care for his kingdom and those loves very much. Yes, he has done things that would be seen as a traitor's crime, but when you think about it. He wants what's best for his home and those who live within its borders."
Crow smiled as she knew those words were valid. "Thank you, Lily."
Lily sighed as she glared at her. "Crow, I will talk to Vann and tell him what's is going on. But I am not generating I will work out for the best. Vann is very stubborn, so don't get your hopes up too high." She pulled out her phone and texted to Vann. Erin moved beside Crow as she began to feel somewhat better. "Done, now let's order our food and go for a swim to cool off our heads from all of this hot tension." Crow nodded as Erin called the waiter over to take their orders.
Later as they made their way to the water park, Lily got a text back from Vann, "Hey guys stop for a moment, Vann texted back."
Erin and Crow stopped and looked at her. "What did he say?" Erin promptly asked.
"Give me a moment to ready." Lily scanned over the message. "He said that he was actually surprised about Vail and Crow being a thing and that Vann feels somewhat responsible for what he has done, but will make sure that their mission is successful so Vail can live."
Crow blink and Lily. "Live?"
Lily nodded, "Yes, Master will terminate Vail if he fails. Either by outright killing him or turned into a mindless beast."
Crow felt a cold sweet go down her whole body as she shook it off. "Well, I can hope for the best outcome, but let's not think about the worst and let's have some fun and relax."
