Chapter 69 - Ark 8: Charge Forward part 3

Hunter's face turned to beat red. "I'm sorry if I never experienced this kind of stuff!" Gotama and Kyle looked at each other, then began laughing. Hunter felt confused, "It's not funny!"

Kyle began to calm himself, whipping away tears, "Sorry, but your reaction was priceless." Kyle looked over at his father. "But in all seriousness, father, what did Kora what from you?"

Gotama stared at Kyle, "She wants me to go to the lost battlefield, the Hollowed Basin."

Kyle stood up, slamming his hands on the table. "Are you insane! The Hollowed Basin is a perilous place as of recent days!" Gotama did not move as Kyle yelled at him. "I will not let you—"

"Kyle!" Gotama barked at him, Hunter jumped back in his seat. "I know, and that is why I wanted to talk to you two."

Kyle stared at his father for a moment before sitting back down. "So, what do you want from us then?"

Gotama sighed. "I want you two to go in my stead, even though I told Kora I would go. I want you and Hunter to go. I think it might be good for the both of you to see the world in a new way since both of you are no longer part of the army anymore."

Kyle stared at his father. "Are you sure about this?" Hunter watched as Gotama nodded; Kyle looked at Hunter, seeing that he was concerned about something. "What are you thinking, Hunter?"

Hunter rubbed his arm. "Well, I am worried that they might go after me once they find me."

"You mean the Faremin forces, don't you?" Gotama's voice cold and distant, as Hunter nodded. "Well, you two will need to change your looks, I will contact Silvia."

Gotama got up and walked over to the phone. Hunter stared at him, "You know, no matter how you look at it, we have tech from scientific to magic mixed in every corner of the kingdom. Why is that?"

Kyle crossed his arms, "I never thought about it until now, but it is possible that at one time, every culture used to cultivate within our country."

Gotama finished on the phone then walked over to them. "Its Demora's doing as he had envisioned, back when I was part of the military myself, I asked the very same question."

Hunter and Kyle stared at Gotama. "Really?" they spoke in unison.

Gotama nodded. "Yes, Demora wanted as much knowledge as he could get so commissioned men to go out and kidnap anyone that would have been useful in advancing the kingdom rapidly." He noticed Hunter and Kyle turn away at the thought. "Your mother and others like her were tricked by these men that they were doing something for the greater good, yet the majority never figured out the truth until it was too late."

Kyle looked at his father, "What do you mean by that?"

Gotama sighed as he took a seat. "She and—no, they found out later that their kingdoms never commissioned them to help the kingdom, and that hey were to be executed after they were no longer useful."

Hunter shivered; Kyle leaned back in horror. "Did others escape, other than my mother?"

Gotama shook his head, "Your mother was a genius, and found a way to extend here life before they found her. She was—still is—one tough woman." Gotama smiled as he thought of her.

Hunter began to think of Scarlett and how she talked to him. He gripped his heart, he flushed red. Kyle looked over at him. "Hunter, are you okay?"

Hunter jumped, falling from his chair. Gotama laughed as he watched him, "I think you were thinking of a woman who captured your heart?" Kyle looked at his father, raising his brow. "I know the feeling when thinking of a woman that has somehow stolen your heart."

Hunter stumbled to his feet. "I don't know what you are talking about."

Gotama grabbed Hunter, "The feeling like your heart is going to explode, or the uneasy feeling you get when you think of them or see them. Tell me her name?"

"Father!"

Gotama ignored Kyle as he stared at Hunter. Hunter caved as he looked at away, "Her name is Scarlett, and that I met her when I attack the Goanna camp to aid in killing Ark."

Kyle stared in shock, "Wait, you can actually—I—yet—I am confused!?"

Gotama smacked Hunters back, "Well, I do know you will meet her again since she is with Lovell as one of the Ren-Ky's."

Hunter looked at Gotama, confused, "What are the Ren-Ky's?"

Kyle leaned over himself, "They are warriors chosen long ago to protect Lunatica, but they never have been successful until now."

Gotama glanced at Kyle, "Kyle's mother was the Ren-Ky of the Winds of Freedom, even before joining the Faremin kingdom."

"So, these Ren-Ky's are people who are chosen for some reason or another?"

Knocking at the door caught everyone's attention, Gotama got up and invited the person in. "Very well, then I will have them ready to head out within the week. I just need to get their measurements, and then I can go and get their clothes ready. Oh, I talked to Orin, and he said he could fix Hunter's fast-growing hair so that he doesn't have to cut it every day or two."

Kyle recognized the woman, "Hey, Silvia."

Silvia smiled at him, "Hey ya' Kyle, How've you been since you got back?"

Kyle turned to Hunter, glaring. "It could have been better if my father did give a headache."

Silvia laughed, "Well, at least things can only get better from here outright. Oh, how was your brother before—you know?"

Kyle's eye grew dark, Gotama noticing something was not right. "Silvia, why don't you hurry up and do what you can for, and you can talk to them later in the week. I think you hit the wrong cord right now."

Silvia looked at Kyle, "Oh, okay." Her voice was shaky as she stared at Kyle.

She took the boy's measurements and left. Kyle felt a sour taste in his mouth and headed to his room. Hunter watched as he knew Kyle did not want to talk about it. Hunter then retired to room and laid on the bed. He stared at the ceiling for a while before turning his body to the window.

"I wish our lives were different, but yet, would have I ever met Kyle, and everyone else who helped shape me now?" Hunter noticed the moon Juna was almost full. He got up to stare out in the night. "I want to learn so much that I was deprived of, but yet, at the same time, I wonder if I will ever find where I belong." Hunter shook his head, "Stop it, Hunter, you are you, and no one else can change that fact. Everything happened for a reason." Hunter returned to his bed, unaware of the person standing in the moonlight that was watching him.

The person smiled, "Hunter, you are more than you think, you may lose your friend soon, but that does not mean you will not be separated. Yet as for Kyle, you seem to have forgotten what I have told you all those years ago. May the God's guide you." The person turned to mist as they left.
