Hunter looked up, sweat dripping from his brow, he could see a small town ahead. Pulling his cloak over his eyes, he continued moving. Once he entered, he asked around what town was. They told him it was Vailrose, he felt relieved knowing that he made it to his first part of his journey. He then asks if they knew where a bakery, run by a man named Aragon. They pointed him in the direction, Hunter thanked them and walked in the direction they told him.
Hunter walked up to the door; he could hear someone yelling at someone else. "Father you are some fool!" Hunter peered open the door to see who it was. "Why in the nine realms would you think that Hunter would not be alive? I know you hate him because he—"
Hunter notice it was Kyle, "Kyle?" he called out, confused and yet overjoyed to see him.
Kyle stopped and turned around; he saw a man covered in a ragged cloak. Kyle lifts his brow, confused who was talking to him under the cloak. "Yes, and you are?"
Hunter felt tears well up in him, he ran up to Kyle, hugging him. Kyle wince as Hunter buried his head in his friend's chest. "I am so glad you're okay."
Kyle shoved him off, "I don't know what you are—" Kyle tried to protest a Hunter. Then Hunter pulled his hood off revealing who he was. Kyle saw a different person than he knew. "Who are you?"
Hunter smiled as he stepped back, playing with his bangs, "Right you might not recognize me with this hairstyle, it's me, Hunter."
Kyle stared at him for a moment, nearly falling back as he could barely recognize him through his new personality. "H-hunter?"
Hunter smiled; Gotham lite a smoke before turning to Hunter. "So, your Hunter?"
Hunter went to say something when he recognized Gotama, "I-it's been a while hasn't it."
Gotama glared at Hunter. "Yes, since you killed Morris ten—almost eleven—years ago. You seem to have changed a lot since then?" taking a puff of his smoke.
Kyle knew this was getting ugly fast, then Hunter walked up to his father. "I can here to join the rebellion, even though we have bad blood between us." Gotham stared at Hunter, analyzing his every move. "I was sent here by a woman named Kana, with the passcode to see you."
Gotham closed his eyes, "Did she now? I betting she gave you my alias name as well?" pointing his smoke at Hunter.
Hunter nodded, "She told me to find a man named 'Aragon' and to tell him 'eight loaves of bread and one sweet bun for the child.'"
Kyle was shocked by Hunter's demeanour as he was not the same Hunter he knew. He was calmer and less trigger ready. Gotham smiled, bursting into laughter. "Well, you are no longer a puppet it seems, plus you seem more like Lovell was before that day." Hunter clenched his fist when Lovell's name rang out. "Kyle head back to the others and get ready for recognizance."
Kyle looked over at Hunter, hoping things would be okay. Gotham stared at Hunter, gesturing him to follow. Hunter followed him to the back of the shop. He led him to a mural, Gotham uttered a word and the wall moved. Hunter was surprised to see this, as he continued to fallow Gotama down.
Gotham glanced back to see Hunter act more like a child thanthat a grown man, as they reached a hall one of his men walked up. "Gotham, sir."
Gotham looked at the man, "you there find Kyle and cancel his order and tell him to meet me in one hour at my cambers."
The man looked confused, "Sir, firstly the Evermore Realm was attacked not long ago, and it seems the Faremin forces say that Azoth was seem—"
"that was not Azoth, it was Lovell." Gotama growled, "I know what took place, a large wolf with a 'single' blade-like horn, was seen in the middle of the battlefield and then the Evermore men won the battle." The man nodded, Gotama took another puff before putting out his smoke. "Azoths' theyan beast form, has two curved horns and one blade-like horn in-between."
The man was flushed by his mistake and head off to find Kyle, Hunter surprised that Lovell was part Theyan. looking to Gotama could see his frustration. They continued down to a room. Gotama sat down and stared at Hunter. "I don't know if this my place to ask but what is Lovell, racially?"
Gotama looked at Hunter, "Compared to you, he's half theyan, part human and part Beastman."
Hunter looked at his hand, "If that's the case, then why did I turn out pure human?"
Gotama could see he had truly changed and had lots of questions. "Theyan hybrids are more like a chart in when having families. Take a half breed like Azoth and Lovell's mother Ulva, princess of the Inroar Dynasty. The genetics worked like normal, a fifty-fifty chance for a theyan hybrid or a mortal child."
Hunter sat down knowing the basics of what Gotama had just said. He leaned forward. "But that is common knowledge for everyone, the mortal half is treated like two purebloods, or mix bloods having a child and passing half what they are on? So why am I different? I should be half beastman half human if that's the case?"
Gotama smiled at him, "True but I can also ask like when they hybridize, where, in your case, a child can be either one race or the other with tow pure bloodlines and even with mix bloods, they can end up as one entire race and not have, let's say human, elf or animilian, and come out daemon. With the one parent being only twelve and half percent."
Hunter stared at him, blinking as he sat back. "I see, so that's how…"
Gotama sighed at him, "There is one thing you should know about Kyle." Hunter looked up at him. "When he was still part of the Faremin, just like you, he had an alias for when he was not wanting to get caught for being a spy since we reconnected three years ago."
Hunter tilted his head. "And what's that?" inquisitive by what Kyle's alias was.
Gotama, laced his fingers, "Its someone you have met once before, it's Shadow."
Hunter's eyes widened, he remembered his encounters with Kyle as Shadow and why he felt some form of familiarity. Kyle knocked at the door; Hunter sat still trying to make sense of who Kyle was. His mind was unable to understand. He began to feel himself slip away; Hunter looked around to see an incense burning in the corner. He could see Gotama saying something but could not hear what he was saying before Hunter passed out.
