Kyle looked at Lance, "You two met already?"
Lance looked at her for a moment; then, it hit him as he called out her name. "Alli!"
Alli smiled, "Yup, how's your friend Gale doing?" Her childish demeanour caught Lovell off as she walked over.
Lance smiled as he childishly rubbed his head. "He's doing great; he finally got used to changing back and forth, oh and we met up with, as you can see, with another friend that left us." Lance turned to Lovell. "This is Lovell, Lovell this is—"
"Alli the ancient, or that's how Kyle put it." Lovell stared at Kyle, "and I thought you met her once?"
Alli grabbed her self a glass, "Yes, he did before he was taken from me years ago." Alli's voice changed as Lovell and Lance looked at her, Alli's primitive form turned into that of young women. "What never seen the de-ageing spell in action?"
Lovell tilted his head, "No, I have I just never expected that you look, well familiar to me in this form?"
Lance snapped out as he gawked at Alli, "Well, this is new to me?"
Alli laughed at them, "Well, I have done deals with the Goannas in the past. So, it might be possible that you have seen me, but we never interacted?"
Kyle coughed, catching their attention. "Anyway, mother, we did come here I reminisce on the past." Kyle pulled out some notes from his bag.
Alli clapped her hands, "Ah, yes, that kitsune's research notes." She sat down, taking them from Kyle, as she sifted through them, she became puzzled. Plopping them on the table, she growled. "I can't read them, and they're in a tough code."
Lovell pulled them over to him, "Do you have a pen and paper I could use?" Kyle nodded as he went to get them, handing them to Lovell. "Thanks."
Lovell started to read over the content, as Alli watched him jot down words. "Wait, you can read that?"
Lovell stopped as he looked up at her, "Yeah, Ark taught me how to decipher these kinds of codes." He showed her what he had in a short amount of time. "look here, this first part takes about how they make the clones mindless, but then it talks about how they will kill themselves if they show any emotions."
Kyle moved over to see, as Alli sifted through Lovells decipher. "So, then why is Hunter different, Kyle?"
Kyle looked over to see Alli stared at through the corner of her eye; Kyle sighed, "It might have something to do with Azoth taking him on as a pupil, where he was taught that it was ok compared to the others as he grew into a person."
Lovell could see that he was worried about Hunter. "Any way I can decipher the rest, but I might be here a long while going through the material?" Lovell flipped through the papers sighing at the amount.
Alli nodded at him. "That's ok as long as you get it done by the morning; there shouldn't be a problem since I will be having a customer come in at twelve to noon."
Lovell leaned back and stretched. "Well, I better get cracking then."
Lance turned to Kyle, "So, you're the one who helped Lovell escape?"
Kyle smiled as he rested his head on his hand. "Yeah, and I'm friends with the one who captured him as well." Lance stared at him. "But I and a few others are trying to get him out before they eradicate him."
Lance watched as Alli walked away, "How so?"
Kyle looked over at his mother. "Well, Hunter is changing faster than we anticipated, and he must be confused through it all, but my main worry is when the dark lord finds out what's been going on me, and the others will be killed off like fleas."
Lance's face darkened at the thought. "Oh, I see, and you want what's best for him, as a real person, not what someone made in a lab if I'm right?"
Kyle nodded as he turned to Lovell; seeing him focus made him think of Hunter. "You know, if Hunter was never created, I would have stayed loyal to them and never would have reconnected with my mother." Kyle laughed, "Besides seeing Lovell work like that reminds me how Hunter was when I taught him to read and write."
Lance smiled, "Hunter might sound like a bad guy, but deep down, you seem to know that he was a good person, miss guided, but none the less an honest to a good person." Lance jumped up. Kyle looked at him, seeing his energetic face blossom. "if anything happens, I think Lovell can forgive him and let him join us." Lance turned to Kyle smiling a massive grin across his face. "Besides, I think I can forgive him and who knows he might just become something more than even you thought!"
Kyle began to well up as he heard Lance's words. He wiped the tears away as he smiled at Lance's enthusiasm. "I hope so, but it seems Lovell is in his own little world and didn't hear a thing."
Lovell looked up from the papers, "Huh? Did you guys say something?" Kyle and Lance looked at each other as they burst out laughing at him. Lovell felt confused at what just happened. "What did I do?"
Alli walked over with food, "Nothing, but it seems that they got along very well and had a moment."
Lovell stared at them as he thanked Alli. "Hey guys, calm down a bit. You're making me worry here."
Lance wiped the tears away. "Sorry, Lovell, but your reaction was just gold."
Alli smiled as she pulled a stone from around her neck and handed it to Lance. "Here, you will need it more than me."
Kyle stood up as she held it. "Mother are you sure about this, most of them earn—"
Alli glared at him, and Kyle froze as his mother gave him the cold shoulder. "He has earned it!"
Lance looked at Alli. "What is that stone there, Alli?"
She smiled as she turned to him, her face calm compared to looking at her son. "It's the Ren-Ky Jewel of wind, just like Lovells is the one for balance."
Lovell looked down to see that it was still out. "So, this is what Kyle thought it was then?"
Alli playfully waved her finger. "That's right, and for every Ren-Ky, there was a stone to go with them. Long ago, before I betrayed the other Ren-Ky's, I was the one on Wind like your friend Lance is know."
Lovell and Lance stared at her in shock. Lance opened his mouth. "Wait, then you are my predecessor?"
Alli closed her eyes as she placed the jewel on the table. "Sadly, yes, but I thought at the time, I was doing the right thing at the time." She sat down and laced her hands together. "I had joined the Faremin forces thinking that they were the real good guys and believed every word until they killed an infant. That was one of Lunatica's reincarnations, that's when I left and cursed my body until I could pass on the stone t the next embodiment of freedom."
Lance looked at the stone, "So, let me get this straight if I take the stone you'll die?"
Alli smiled at him. "Not right away, but in a year or two I will have, besides Lovell, has done a great job protecting her from a young age. Even if he wasn't a part of her life."
Lovell smiled at her. "That means a lot and one other thing."
Alli looked at Lovell. "What is it?"
Lovell held the papers up. "I finished not long ago."
Kyle swiped the papers from Lovell; he began to read it, his eye hallowed. "No, it can't be?"
Alli stared at him. "What do they say, son?"
Kyle started to shake in fear, "Mother, you know of the weapon your hideaway by the inferring mountains?" Alli nodded at him. "Well, that weapon is going to be used to brainwash every soldier at every front line." Kyle stood up. "I need to leave now. I'm sorry, but I need to get there before they do!"
Alli sighed. "At least I got to talk to you before you left my little spitfire." She stood up and hugged Kyle. "Take care and don't die out there."
Kyle squeezed his mother, "I won't." he turned to Lovell. "I'll find you guys at a later date, with Hunter in tow." Kyle walked away, "Until next time."
Lovell and Lance wished him luck as he closed the door. Lance looked at the jewel and decided to grab it. Alli looked at him. "Take good care of it their, Lance."
Lance nodded as he walked over to the door. Lovell got up, stand shook Alli's hand. "Thanks for your help. Alli, hopefully, I will see you again before your end time."
Alli smiled, "Doubt, we will see each other again, but you make sure you don't get lost along your journey?" Lovell nodded as he followed Lance out the door, leaving Alli hoping for the best in all of their quests of peace.
