Chapter 7 - 07 The Disappointment

I'm sorry for questioning your choice and you would be the worlds stupidest person. Sasori who had walked over after guarding the area heard Lenly calling Aego the worlds stupidest person. She clenched her spear in anger and quietly charged at Lenly hiding her ill intent perfectly just as she was a few meters away she heard Lenly say " For not loving her." Aego who only just noticed Sasori's anger approaching Lenly dropped a cold sweat as Lenly almost become a corpse.

Sasori who figured out Aego had told Lenly his love for her tripped on her foot as she was to happy to hear that Aego was confessing his love for her to other people. With a foot still on the ground she leaped up similar to Aego falling face first into Aegos chest as he saw the whole thing he was well prepared to catch her. Lenly who only felt a breeze past by saw the couple embracing each other unaware of how close he was at deaths door.

Feeling like a third wheel Lenly excused himself saying he would scout ahead. Sasori who knew she was in the wrong innocently looked up at Aego as if she didn't just try to commit murder. Aego looking down could only sigh as he moved his hand towards her face. Thinking of his intent she closed her eyes waiting for the warm hand to cup her cheek. Instead of a warm hand she received a knock on her head opening her eyes she stared at Aego with her teary like eyes that seemed to be in a lot of pain. Control your temper better. Mhmm nodding her head in his chest. He really didn't like hurting her so he leaned over and kissed the spot he had previously hit. Letting her go "Lets go."

Any affection of his would always bring a smile to her as his affection was pure and warm completely different from the affection she was used to. Following Aego she ran behind him as they caught up to Lenly who had just slain a few goblins. Do you not like the armor? Its only a few goblins I could manage. If your ready lets continue. Nodding his head Lenly hesitated recalling his embarrassment earlier as he squeezed the pendant.

Sasori took the charge again the eleventh floor was even more cluttered as they were nearing the final floor where the boss would be. As Sasori cleared a path they steadily plowed through the eleventh floor. Reaching the twelfth floor a few hobgoblins could be seen leading a squadron of organized goblins.

Sasori continued her charge as she pierced through their formation slaying the first hobgoblin. Like before they continued their charge deeper into the dungeon. With a persistent mob that slowly grew as they ventured deeper. After an hour of running a giant rock table appeared in their view as a hobgoblin shaman stood above the rock waving its crude rod. Surrounding the shaman a mob of hobgoblins brandished their weapons waiting for their enemy.

Sasori continued her charge slaying hobgoblin after hobgoblin as they got closer the shaman started to chant a spell. Sasori who was finally close enough sped up ahead into a tight cluster of hobgoblins, she gathered her mana into her spear tip with a graceful spin that caused a short whirlwind to surround her sending out a green ring of wind expanding away from her splitting every hobgoblin in a ten foot diameter in half, spinning another rotation she let out a green horizontal slash of wind that flew at an incredible speed towards the shaman. With enlarge pupils the shaman frightened at how quick his underlings died and how soon he would be joining them.

Lenly who was stopped by Aego watched the scene unfold dumbfounded at how easily the shaman and his underling died. Disappointed Lenly was low in spirit as he was expecting an epic battle with a hobgoblin army in front and a horde of goblins behind sandwiched in between with no where to go but to slaughter their enemy till the end. His confidence in his armor was not wrong against a goblin he really was unstoppable if he was a little wary of the hobgoblins he could slaughter his way till he exhausted himself. Not to mention the might of his two companions.

Turning around Sasori came skipping back with both hands behind her back looking very lovely with an innocent smile. Lenly who just witnessed what he assumed was a fraction of her strength saw something very different a terrifying woman. Beastkins who relied solely on their beastly characteristics strength, agility, vision, hearing, smell, and vitality. Had his hair standing in fear a beastkin who actually used internal mana rather than exterior mana mainly used to reinforce the body which all warriors are capable of. Their ancestors failed with magic so they focused external mana which was taught generation after generation making magic non existent in beastkins. To witness such a powerful skill with such area damage was considered magic as magic was known for its destructive area damage. Warrior skills that beastkin practiced was only viable on one on one confrontations with their lack of mana training they couldn't gather the mana to do the area damage nor could they sustain in long battles. Making their fighting style very fierce and direct.

Comparing the two he couldn't tell who was the bigger monster. The level six mage or the beastkin warrior who could instantly send out a devastating area attack. Lost in thought Lenly followed mindlessly as Aego took charge for the first time spinning around as he lead the charge with his spear in hand he wove through effortlessly as if there was nothing there. Every slash that was made was so quick that the spraying blood lagged behind the cut. If Lenly saw the mastery behind the cuts he would have prostrated himself begging to be taught. Sasori who was watching was envious at how graceful he looked she could only stare with admiration as he rarely used a spear.
