Chapter 4 - Team up(3)

The pictures displayed Mahir's team having their practice supervised by a chattel. Although it was a team practice, Mahir did little to help his team. The other two had to constantly struggle to keep up with him and his outstanding skills. This is why the stratagems they used lacked strength and effect. It was like watching a one man show. The rest were just struggling along the sidelines.

The picture vanished and came another where Ashm was fighting with his own team member and knocked him out.

'He surely needs anger management classes' thought Emon.

"As you can see, the teams in which they have been included are a complete failure"

Emon sighed as she faced him.

"Yeah but you have to consider that they just met, they need some time to sort out their pros and cons and that takes time."

Emon strongly believed what she said. Perfect sync came after a lot of hardwork and adjustments.

The Colossus smiled inwardly. He had a keen sense of judgement and after hearing her words he was sure he had made the right decision.

"What you are saying is true, but there has to be a time limit for that plus a heart to accept others which Mahir and Ashm clearly lack."

"I want you to team up with them."

His statement made Emon snap up her head.

"You- what?"

She knew she had crossed the line being too much informal, but she didn't care,

'At least I'm speaking my mind'

The Colossus lifted a brow at the sudden remark.

"Uh... I mean, are you sure? I have no powers, haven't even properly recognised by Enamour. Won't I pull them down with me?"

"You question my judgement?"

Emon mentally rolled her eyes, come on... I was just being practical.

The Colossus smiled inwardly as he could see the various thoughts which flew through her mind. He teased her intentionally.

"No... No of course not but-"

"Then it's settled. Tomorrow 8am Sheesham ground. Be ready."

The tone was quite clear to her. Discussion's over... You can leave.

Emon shot the old man a hundred punches in her mind but outwardly she maintained a stoic face and walked out of the compound.

Stubborn old man!

That night she spent planning how to reign in those two bullies... She had no Major yet so she really couldn't help them in the grounds. Neither could she fight physically...

'wow... I'm out of options'

She then thought about lending them her knowledge on Enamour. Atleast she was fully equipped in that.

She made up her mind, patted her heart and went to sleep.

Sheesham grounds next day morning:

Emon was welcomed by an empty place. She had been waiting for two hours and yet no one showed up.

Sighing she closed her book that she was reading and got up to leave.

'They are never gonna accept me' she mused. As to why the Colossus had teamed her up with them was out of her sane knowledge.

'He is mental... That old nut!'

The day had almost come to an end. Emon stayed at the Atelier campus so she needed to be back by 7. Everyone else had their own place except she was willingly provided a place in the Atelier and was even given a sum of money every month. No one why she was being shown such favouritism though having no powers. This was unacceptable to many and they constantly voiced their complaints.

Emon however never heeded those things. She may feel the old nut was weird but she knew that every decision he made had its own reasons. So she just went with it.

'The day had such a waste start... ' she thought while coming out of a grocery store. She bought some essentials and was getting back home when sudden she heard a commotion. The road to Atelier was quite charming during day but really quiet at night so such a commotion meant a big trouble had brewed.

Emon was hesitating to take a look since her curfew time was nearing but she gave up in the end and was about to turn towards the noise when a sharp sreeching sound pierced her ears. Turning back she felt a deathly chill through nerves, her heart was squeezed to a ball and she was rooted to her spot as she let the lights flood her with its brightness...
