Chapter 6 - Mentor from Hell!

Emon's lips twitched as she saw their awestruck faces.

Mahir regained his stoic face as soon as he saw her amused eyes. Ashm however was still dumbfounded...

"Your Major is a healer?" He blurted out.

Emon had read about healing powers of some shades but they were extremely rare and hardly anyone could attain them. But it seemed to be the case with her.

"I.. uh... think so..." She spoke.

Ashm and Mahir had skipped the practise. What's the use of practising with an invalid and that too with a Mentor who wasn't even in the Atelier's register.

Truthfully Ashm felt angry everytime he thought how unfairly he had been teamed with that useless disciple. Atleast his previous team had abilities. True they were all jerks, but atleast he could fight! And now?

What exactly did that old fart of a Colossus think I would do when practising with an invalid Enamour disciple? Play checkers?

Mahir shared Ashm's thoughts. Though he never liked this ill- tempered guy he was disgusted to hear that both of them have been assigned to that no usage girl. And for the dessert the Colossus had added that their Mentor was nowhere to be found. Since the guy was not on records, no one can trace him unless he wants it himself. It was only Colossus who had a one way communication with him through a shared shade of Violet.

Looking at this once invalid girl, they no longer were sure what to think of their situation.

Suddenly the three felt the presence of a powerful gathering. They looked around and tried to pin point the location when,

Shing!

Emon felt being stabbed in the back. The boys turned around to look at her falling form. Ashm shot out to hold her but immediately she was swept off her feet and carried away by a figure in black.

Mahir frowned as he sensed a foul aura surrounding the group.

Something was not right...

Right then a voluptuous woman came out of the shadows. Mahir's brows frowned at sensing the source of the foul aura. The woman was not right in her head or soul.

"You are hereby ordered by the Colossus to return to your homes." She swept her glare at the two boys. Then she spoke again,

"This girl comes with us. You have no more business here"

She then produced the Seal of Atelier.

A Liaison? What's a Liaison doing here? Ashm mused, furthermore, she had the Seal...

Liaisons were extremely treasured in the Enamour world for their research on war strategies called Stratagems and fight techniques with multiple shades known as Brios. True they weren't Enamour disciples but that didn't lessen the fact that they held immense prestige in their world.

The woman's voice was clear and crisp but Ashm and Mahir didn't like the tone.

"What are you? An idiot? Of course we have business here! What's with that stupid declaration?" Ashm snorted while speaking.

Shardul's lips curled to a sneer. He dares to defy a Liaison! If it had not been for Master, I would never have accepted this worthless task. Enamour disciples were nothing if not for its knowledge treasures like me! And yet this lowly scum dared to utter such words! I will teach him a lesson he will remember in his next lives!

"Get him too"

Her lips spat the words like venom as she ordered the Sentinels to capture Ashm. Sentinels were highly trained in Enamour dark shades and were merciless in their task.

Let's see your spirit now! smirked Shardul.

Mahir remained silent all the while as he watched the various emotions playing on her features. Although she maintained a straight face, a Black Major can see through any facade.

One dispute could put her in so much rage and spew such venomous aura! what is this snake up to?

Ashm was prepping to ward off the Sentinels when her voice cut through.

"You do one move and she becomes back to an invalid right now!"

Ashm stopped in his tracks and Mahir lifted his brows in amusement... She was definitely marred in the brains. Even though the Colossus can restrict one's powers but he can never reverse the process. A Major can never again be turned to an invalid. Yet she actually spoke such a thing... Mahir shook his head... She definitely thought herself above all.

Ashm laughed, apparently he knew the fact as well.

"You're retarded aren't you"

It was like a slap to her face. She could no longer hide her true visage.

"You maggot! How dare you insult me! You will be thrown out of the Atelier for this! Just you wait!"

Mahir shut her off as he no longer found the situation worthy and scanned the area for Emon. She must have been taken to the Atelier. Even if he didn't believe a word she said, the Seal of Atelier was definitely real.

Atelier was their sacred place, their home, where they studied, practised and took on missions. True he didn't attend classes since it was boring but he always attended the practice sessions.

How did this such a powerful academy produce such a nutcase?

"Shardul... Isn't that the name of a guy?"

Mahir spoke for the first time. His voice was like ice as he asked wryly. His eyes however never looked at her as if she were an insignificant worm and they scanned the area for Emon's trail. This enraged Shardul further and even more, he had insulted her name!

Mahir finally located the path and shot an icy glare at the woman.

Shardul immediately felt numb as she was pinned with that look. It was the look which can tear away your soul... Her heart shuddered... Just how powerful were these disciples?

"Let's go"

Ashm took advantage of the situation and shot off to his left. He too had found the trail.

Mahir smirked and tailed him.

Shardul came to her senses and gritted her teeth... Those two... I will make them pay for this!! Just you wait!

Emon felt her body drained as she felt being carried. Where was she going? Instantly a searing pain shot through her spine as she cried aloud. That thing which had stabbed... What was it?

Mahavar was on his way to buy a drink when he felt a suspicious figure lurk off the path. He was carrying a girl who looked familiar.

Isn't she Emon? The girl in the Atelier? He decided to follow the figure.

A few minutes later he heard a distinct cry and was sure something was not right.

The pain was unbearable yet she held on, and right at that time, Emon felt a hand pull her to her left. She wanted to make sense of what was going on when she felt the pain subside gradually. She held on to her saviour as her body felt normal. She looked beside her and found the figure who had been carrying her was knocked out.

Mahir was startled to see the man throwing away the Sentinel in one blow.

Was he human? How can a Sentinel be defeated with one blow?

Ashm however didn't notice this and went forward.

"You alright?" He asked.

Emon nodded.

"Who are you?" Mahir however was totally interested in this stranger who had the gall to take on a Sentinel and single handedly knock him out.

Mahavar looked at the guy before him and smirked.

"I'm your Mentor from Hell"
