"That's two weeks!"
"It's just two weeks. Be good. I'll see you soon." The woman got inside the house and left the man behind.
"Did you...fight?" Airi tried to be careful with her words when she asked.
"No. I don't need your help in the company anymore. You can go now." He quickly brushed her away and called for his driver to guide him back to the house.
Airi let out a sigh. Kids. Are definitely better than these two adults.
"Also, let Grandpa know, I'm doing okay." He continued before stepping inside the house.
Airi furrowed her brows. Did she just lose her job? Great! Now, she only has one headache to deal with.
She fished for her phone and dialed a number. A man's magnetic voice answered on the other line.
"Airi, where have you been?" He sounded tired.
"I'm sorry boss. I had to deal with something personal." She won't ever admit that she got carried away.
"How are you?" he did not ask her any further. She appreciated how her boss respected her privacy.
"Everything's good now. The young master and young miss are getting along pretty well but I'm not yet sure, I think they're still bickering."
"Mayu's still there?"
"Yes. And she's still using Yumi." she added. She did not wonder why the young miss would use a different name as it's part of her name anyway but her boss is insistent on details like this.
"Oh. If Chryxso sends you home, just stay with Mayu for now." He just said.
"Copy boss." She then ended the call.
Mayu is already carrying her bag when she had the call ended so she greeted her again.
"Hey! What's going on?"
"Let's go home." She smiled. Airi furrowed her brows. Let's go home?
"I'm sorry?" Mayu just smiled.
"I know my brother sent you to look after me. Let's stop bothering them already." She opened the trunk of the car and got inside.
She left the door open and waited for her. Oh well, no sense in pretending, Airi got inside the car and they drove off.
"So you decided to go home now?" She probed. Mayu sighed.
"I have to. I need to at least be presentable enough to face the people around me."
"Oh! Drop me off around the corner will you."
"You have other jobs?" Mayu inquired as the car stopped.
"Not really. My bike is just parked here, is all." Airi shrugged her shoulders and walked towards her motorbike.
"I'll drive on first. I'll meet with you at the hospital." She said from inside the helmet and zoomed off.
Mayu pouted as she watched the woman drive away. She really wanted to drive one, too! She heard a chuckle from the guy behind the wheels.
"You have anything to say, Glenn?"
"Why would you even want to drive something like that? It's beyond your reach." He offhandedly replied.
"I know I'm poor today but I'll be getting my pay soon so don't try to challenge me like this." She continued pouting. This guy surely has a lot of time in his hands.
" Oh, you misunderstood. I meant what I said literally." The guy continued putting his shoes in his mouth.
"What do you mean?" Mayu prodded.
"Well, with your height, you would need a stepladder to mount the bike. Have you seen vice president Airi's legs? They reach up to your... Huh, why is suddenly chilly here? Did I put the air-conditioning on high?" The guy never knew when to stop and did not even notice the murderous look on Mayu's eyes.
"Come here for a bit Glenn, I promise I won't hit you too hard!" Mayu spat at him.
"Huh? What did I do?" the confused guy looked behind and saw the murderous glint in her eyes.
"Hey, don't look at me like that. Chico is still young to be orphaned." He nervously gripped on the steering wheel.
"You should have thought of that before you said those things. Keep driving and don't talk to me or I'll tell your boss how rudely you treated his guest."
"Ma'am, spare me." Mayu smiled when the guy started pleading. Crazy.
The sun is already high when Mayu arrived home. She dragged her tired body to her room and slept like a baby. She got Glenn to stay on one of their guest rooms so he can rest before he drives back to the Arestas.
"Get up, it's time to eat." She woke up from a familiar voice. It was magnetic that she both wanted to keep sleeping and jump up and hug the owner of the voice.
"Can't I sleep more?" she lazily asked. Perhaps I'm still dreaming, she thought and tried to snuggle back under her blanket again.
The owner of the magnetic voice showed a look of annoyance and indulgence as he bent down and carried her downstairs. Mayu is still dazed but still let herself be carried down.
When she breathed, she inhaled that familiar scent that made her lower down all her defenses. Her brother is spoiling her again, Mayu smiled.
He supported her to stand in the sink to gurgle some water and gently propped her in a chair.
"Ah," he commanded but how he said it made her just follow and get fed. She swallowed the food and opened her mouth again.
"Chew your food." He said as he gave her another bite. Mayu obediently chewed and opened her mouth again for another bite but she was not offered any more food.
She started to get annoyed and opened her eyes only to be greeted by the stern look on her brother's eyes. She smiled at him.
He blinked his eyes and looked down as if he did not see anything and opened some papers which he seemed to be holding on the table. When Mayu realized that he won't feed her anymore, she grumpily picked up the spoon and started wolfing down the food.
"Chew your food." He said without moving his eyes away from the paper that he's reading. Mayu kept stuffing herself still.
"Are you full and coherent now?" He finally looked at her while she drank some water.
"Uhm." She just made a sound.
"Okay, so what's the status?" his brother looked back at his papers again.
Mayu almost spat out the water she's drinking? Did my brother found out that I'm dating his patient? What should I do? She panicked.
"Uh..." her voice trailed off. She couldn't find a word to say to her brother. Her heart is beating fast as if she got caught in a scandal.
