"Ellaine, I take back words and apologize for everything I said earlier. I did not know the story behind what I saw and just threw my judgment." she finally said when she found her voice. She's really ashamed of what she just blabbered on but she's also willing to admit on her wrongs.
"You don't have to. What you saw before is me seriously thinking of going to Chryxso instead. That was definitely my fault. I said, why can't I love him instead? But heck, I only see my husband's face when I kiss him. Chryxso won't ever fill the part I have for Mallory. I just tendered my resignation letter today." Oh! That explains the angry look on the guy's face earlier today.
"He'll get mad," she said, talking about Chryxso.
"Yeah. I get to hear him raise his voice at last." she tried to laugh it out.
"Huh? Isn't he always like that? Always yelling. I could grill him on a burning charcoal." she laughed again.
"You look cute," she said out of nowhere. She grinned silly, I think we'll be really good friends.
"I know right. My grandfather never failed to let me know that I was the best thing that happened to them since I was a child,"
"That's not what I mean. You and Chryxso look cute together. Why don't you give it a try?" she rolled her eyes. Ha. Ha. Ha.
"Girl, I'm not trying to end my life. My life would be a living hell if that ever happened. Also, we might just end up killing each other." Yeah, seriously, we could kill each other. I just escaped death recently you know.
"You can still work it out." she seemed interested in setting her up with him. Mayu rolled her eyes.
"Come on! Give me a break. Can we stop with that stupid Chryxso and me fantasy. I'm already getting goosebumps from terror. Suddenly it feels so eerie here." she said as she pretended to shiver and rubbed her arms. Ellained laughed more.
"Anyway, I asked to speak with you so I can at least hand him over to someone trustworthy. He's a good friend of mine and I don't want to cause him further heartache. Err, I so wish that you'll be the one to make him happy. I still believe he's capable of loving again and the next time it will be reciprocated." she looked at her intensely. Mayu rolled her eyes again. Can this nonsense end already?
"I'll take care of him alright but other than that, huh, he can go hang himself."
"You're really good for him," she added before she grabbed her bag and stood up. "I have to go now. Mallory and I are leaving for Japan."
"He's Japanese? Ah, I so like him suddenly. I know you're made for each other." Japan is always attached to her deep love of anime. Ellaine smiled at her, amused with her antics.
"Nope. He's just got a business there. We're planning to stay there for awhile then maybe we can go back here again. I'll be seeing you. And Chryxso soon." Ellaine gave a kind smile and she smiled back.
"Take care, both of you. Bring me sakura petals if you can." she's still in a giddy mood as she left the cafe. She continued sipping on her iced cold coffee.
Left alone, Mayu suddenly remembered her last coffee incident that got her to the hospital. Her brother was so worried then.
I just really wanted to write a story. Why can't they believe me? And why am I still unable to make at least a draft even now? And where did I get this scar?
She noticed a newly formed layer of skin on her arm. Did she got hurt here when Chryxso pushed her? I'm getting my whole body checked for other injuries later. Ah, I really have to build up my muscle. Where was that gym we frequent before again? Also, I think I need to get insurance for myself as well.
She thought and dreamt some more until her brain ran out of things to think about. She'll probably come back here again. The ambiance is so soothing she may get some inspiration to write stories once more.
It has already been a couple of minutes since Ellaine left and Mayu thought she's been out long enough so she got ready to leave. As she stood up, she remembered that their orders have not yet been paid and she did not bring any money. Her eyes widened, her essence fully awake now.
She took a deep breath and tried to relax herself. I can't possibly be repeating the same mistake again, right? She fished for her phone and found out just now that she did not bring it again. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!! She crept from her seat and walked towards the counter.
"Do you have a landline here?" She thought of calling the Aresta residence and asked them to bring her wallet over for payment.
"Yes Ma'am. It's with Miss Sweetheart's office. Can we help you with anything?" One crew member pointed at a closed room which looked like the owner's office. Mayu wanted to cry. Huhuhu. How could I go to their boss's office and let them know about my dilemma? Would they even believe a stranger's words. Will they even let me in?
"Ma'am?" her thoughts trailed back to the crew standing behind the counter. I can't do it.
"Oh, nothing." she dropped her shoulders as she walked back to her table. I'm so dead. How could I forget my phone again? Glenn will definitely kill me now. Ellaine, how can you do this to me? She wanted to blame the woman but she can't now considering she's also one at fault. I did not get lost but I'm still compromised.
"Is there a problem, Miss?" it was the face of the guy that carried the store manager earlier. She gave him a once-over, concluded that he's good looking and a whole lot nicer than Chryxso.
"Yeah, a big one." she sighed. Should I tell him instead? Have you no shame? One part of her mind countered. But I have no way to pay them? And I have to go home soon, she thought to herself. Then ask them for some time, go back and get your wallet and come back here to pay. Duh, as if she knows the way.
"Maybe I can help,"
"Of course you can help me." You're the best help I can have right now.
"That's good. How can-" she breathed deeply and replied before he can even finish his question.
"I need money. Do you loan?" The handsome guy stared at her and blinked.
