Harumi's memories of the night before were pretty hazy. She had no idea how or when she came back to her room. She had a few bruises on her arms and legs and a massive headache. If it was up to her she would never drink one drop of alcohol for the rest of her life! When she woke up she still wore the slip dress from her new European style dress. Her maids quietly entered the room and told her that Nobunaga brought her to bed. She could hide for days as embarrassed as she was. When they told her he even stayed the night her face turned a deep burgundy colour. She didn't dare to ask if something happend last night.
Harumi wanted nothing more than lazing around for the whole day and just sleep but apparently she had other plans. Nobunaga had ordered her to attend a war meeting. Something she never had to before. She tried to eat something but her stomach didn't agree with that so she only drank some tea. With a heavy head and weak knies she went to the room were there would be a war meeting. When she entered the room everybody was already present. All the warlords that didn't have a mission at the moment were all present. A guard brought her to her seat at the back of the room. Everybody followed her with their eyes. Some had to hold in their laughter, remembering the night before. While others were irritated at the delay she had caused. When she sat she nodded at Nobunaga who nodded back and then began the meeting.
"As you all know, in two weeks we will take Takuboku castle." He began. Apparently this was old news for everyone. Harumi still had no idea why she had to be present to this meeting.
"But, at our last dispute I was injured as some of you might know." He continued. Most of the warlords didn't know this and looked nervous at each other.
"At the state I'm in right now I can't fight." Nobunaga told everybody. Most of the warlords were in a frenzy. How were they suppose to take Takuboku castle without Nobunaga?
"To regain my strengt I will traveling to a onsen within the mountains." That mode the warlords a little less nervous. "I will traveling alone with my wife." Nobunaga continued. Now was het Harumi's time to be shocked. She wasn't the only one. Most of the warlords didn't think it was a good idea to travel alone without any guards but Nobunaga didn't want to hear it. He would go alone to the onsen with his wife even if it was the last thing he did. Harumi didn't know what to do or say. When did he think up this idea? Did last night something happen? And did he now want to repeat that, over even worst. Punish her? What if she assaulted him and he just needs a quiet place to kill her? Her armpits were clammy from all her sweating. She couldn't handle this!
"We will leave tomorrow morning." Nobunaga said before he finished the meeting and walked out of the room. All the warlords were yelling at each other and Nobunaga who wasn't even in the room anymore. Before anyone shifted their attention to her, Harumi left the room as quiet as possible. She still couldn't believe this! Why didn't he tell her something before he pushed her in the snake pit?!? She had a bad feeling about this whole trip and didn't want to go. But she had seen Nobunaga's face when he told all his warlords that he was going and she knew she could never not go. With a long face she returned to her room. Apparently her maids already heard the news and already prepared her stuff for tomorrow.
