Standing up, he decided to experiment with his body to learn of his limits. First there was the strength measurement, many stones were littered all over the beach and he estimated that their weight range should be between 10 to 300 kilograms.
Starting from the lightest one, he lifted the stones till he could not and reckoned that the heaviest he could lift was the stone weighting 200 kilograms.
Exalted by his new gained strength, Marvin was even more certain that the chances of surviving the predicaments in which he finds himself had gone up.
After experimenting with his strength for some time, he went to the forest to collect more wood and look for a tree which had leaves like a palm tree or a banana fruit tree so that he could he use them to make a mat.
As an outdoors lover, he obviously knows how to survive all sorts of environments; while his dream of becoming like Indiana Jones might not have been possible to realize on Earth, it might not be impossible here.
An archaeologist as he is might found some ruins in this new world. Well! That is, if he fell on an inhabited planet and that multiple civilizations have existed prior to his arrival.
While in the forest, he found more fruit trees; he waiting to see if any animals were around, he hid behind some bushes unaware that there was a hole in the ground located just behind him from inside which a pair of yellow eyes with slit pupils were staring at him with great attentiveness.
Marvin, seeing that the road was clear approached this new fruit trees and plucked some of the hanging fruits; they looked just like apples and this time there was no issue in taking more than one.
Behind him, a triangular head came out of the hole and tailed him furtively; oblivious to what might be a threat to his life, he placed his next meal inside a tree hollow, Marvin continued on his journey.
Around him, were strange plants and insects; they were colourful and beautiful, some were outright dangerous looking like this dark beetle that he saw which was as big as a cow with pincers half as big as it was and was breathing out cold air that froze the soil around it.
Going around the sleeping monster, Marvin headed further into the forest while picking up dead wood and edible looking fruits; at some point he realized that no noises could be heard around him.
Worried that he may have gone near a beast habitat, he started retracing his steps when he heard a hiss sound on his left.
Turning his head to look at the thing that made the sound, he saw a 15 feet long and 13 inches of diameter snake with black scales staring at him while hanging from the branch of tree; it was similar to an anaconda except for the sharp thorns on his back which were aligned along its spine.
Petrified from the sight of this dangerous looking thing, Marvin drop everything he had in his hands from the shivering.
The snake was flicking its tongue while approaching Marvin who was struck dumb; a hot sensation came from his thigh which awoke him from his stupor, he turned around and ran towards the place he saw the giant beetle. It might be the first time he experienced such a situation in which he was a prey but his survival instinct decided for him what his best path toward survival was.
Running with all his might, he did not look behind him because he could hear the sound the sounds the snake made while slithering against the ground and he was afraid that that simple act might slow him down.
Maybe the snake knew what was in the direction he was running towards or it was just weary of the pursuit but it suddenly accelerated and position itself in front of Marvin with its mouth opened.
Horrify by the sudden appearance of his predator, Marvin jumped to the side but his movement was not fast enough because the jaw of the snake shut down on his left leg with such strength that he heard his bones cracked.
Falling on the ground, Marvin started to feel nauseous and assumed that the snake venom was coursing through his veins; ignorant whether the symptoms of the venom might impede him from moving, Marvin pulled his stone knife from his back and pierced the snake eye with it.
His leg finally free, Marvin stood up and moved forward; he might have been stumbling around but he was getting near the location of the giant beetle when a heat wave came from behind him, turning his head around, he saw a ball of fire flying towards him.
He swayed and fell on the ground while ahead of him a tree was caught on fire; praising his luck, he looked from where the ball of fire came from and saw the snake with its jaw opened, another ball of fire was forming in front of it.
Marvin, now aware of the prowess of the beast that is pursuing him even more than before, was certain that it did not consider him as its meal anymore but as its worst enemy.
The fact that it could produce something like that, made Marvin more certain to find refuge from the beetle.
Another fire ball was approaching him saw he dove to his right and roll; with the mind-set of not wanting to die, Marvin starting running just like before.
The pain coming from his leg and the nauseous feeling he had were all subdued by the adrenaline.
The snake seeing that its prey was getting further from it stopped sending fireballs and resumed pursuing it. It noticed that it was getting near the territory of the "always" sleeping beetle and was afraid of moving forwards but its fury blinded it.
The simple fact that a simple prey wounded it made that it wanted to burn it to cinders. It was the first time that it hunted such a prey; afraid that it might have been stronger than it was, it observed the strange beast from the moment that it stood in front of its burrow till when it started approaching the territory of the wolves, that was why it let its presence be felt so that it could intimidate any beast around but was shocked when the beast that was previously unable to sense its surroundings stopped.
It knew that it was not possible for that strange beast to sense its presence because during all the time it observed it, it always approached the territory of the dangerous beasts in the forest and only when they were at an observable distance, did it turn back and went around them.
Those beasts presence can always be felt and are not like its species who could hide theirs.
So it was surprised when the strange beast turned back so it made a nearly inaudible hiss but the strange beast heard it and looked at it; first it was not moving so it approached it to kill it, ignorant whether that strange beast could retaliate once it made its move, it could only act carefully but that strange beast ran away so it had become a pursuit.
When it finally made its move, sure that its venom would render that strange beast incapacitated, it pierced its eyes with a sharp stone and stumbled away from it getting near from the beetle territory.
Angered it used the only magic spell it knew to bombard the prey that infuriated it but it never hit the strange beast that always dodge by rolling on the ground and when it noticed that the strange beast acted as if it was not poisoned made it even more enraged, so it hit the ground with its tail and propelled itself towards the bipedal beast.
Marvin was just 30 meters away from the strange beetle when he heard a thud sound and looked behind him to see the snake flying at high speed towards him; he immediately ran even more desperately.
Picking up a stone from the ground, he threw it towards the sleeping beetle hoping to wake it up he was apparently out of luck because even when the stone hit the asleep beast, it did nothing more than that.
The snake landed just beside him and coiled his tail around his body before starting to constrict him.
Unproportioned to his body, the strength of the snake was so high that Marvin, a person who could 200 kilogram was not able to do anything to get away from it.
His blood circulation was blocked, air was being expulsed from his lungs, his bones were breaking; the pain he felt made him almost lost consciousness but he did not want to die so out of nowhere he bit the snake and tore a chunk of meat from the snake.
The snake hissed in pain and brought Marvin to its mouth to tear his head out; but at that moment, the beetle who did not move till now opened its beady black eyes and focused his sight on the snake who was in the middle of killing a prey while in the beetle's territory.
Mad from being awaken and infuriated from having its pride and strength questioned it roared and the sound of it reverberated through the whole forest when other roars starting to sound all over the forest as if in response.
The snake, that only noticed now that its neighbour was awake wanted to bring its prey with him while he fled but the beetle was faster than it and stood just in front of him just like he stood just in front of its prey; unlike it, the beetle did not make a single movement and just stared directly in its; it knew that he had to avoid eye contact with the beetle but it was as if it was drawn in what seemed like a beautiful starry sky.
A few moments later, a grey gas was coming from the mouth of the snake and the light of its eyes was getting dimmer while strange markings started to glow with a golden like colour on the beetle shell.
Marvin was the only spectator to the event and even with everything that happened to him, he was so scared from what he was seeing that he could not close his eyes; he knew that what was happening was definitely against the laws of nature.
It looked like, the beetle beast was absorbing the soul or something like that from the snake and it was dying from the loss of it.
The snake then fell and Marvin with it, the venom already paralysed him and he could feel that he was losing his ability to hear and see; it was then that the beetle approached him, examined him, and picked him up along with the body of the snake.
Returning to its sleeping grounds after patrolling his territory to check if there any other intruders, the beetle uncoiled the snake tail and placed Marvin beside it.
Dragging the snake corpse, it dug a grave with its huge pincers, put the snake corpse inside it then filled the grave before breaking a branch from one of the trees around and planted it in the grave soil.
It then looked at the strange beast in front of it who was strangely still alive despite the fact that it was poisoned; standing in front of the four limbed beast it was fascinated by its life vigour, expecting that the beast might get better by itself it went back to sleep.
A few hours later it awoke, the sky was dark but the strange beast did not get better but was instead dying; disappointed that it did not act according to its expectations, the beetle went towards it.
Since the strange beast was weaker than it was and was hunted by the snake in the beetle's territory, it was feeling responsible for it, thinking that the snake wanted to hunt this novel beast and that was why it dared to act on its territory.
It breathe out cold air that attached itself to Marvin body before infiltrating it.
Marvin, blind and deaf as he was, started feeling so cold that he thought that he was back in the French Alps in winter; he felt like someone was using a brush inside his body and cleaning his messy mind. He started regaining his hearing and sight before seeing the cow size beetle in front of him.
He then vomited a purple like liquid with strange white clots inside, before falling unconscious.
