Chapter 17 - White Sabertooth

Upon entering the 20th floor Mirai used up all the battle experience she harvested from different monsters since she entered the lair. After spending her experience on her battle class a warm soothing sensation emergences from her gut spreading through the ends of her body. After the warmness dissipates Mirai instantly felt relieved and even more stronger.

Mirai then took a glance on her status to see the changes from what she reaped.

Just like in the game every two level gives one extra point to each stat, sweet! Mirai was overjoyed while browsing through her status window, battle experiences can only be used to level up the battle class unlike the general experience that can be used to level up both the class and the skills. Mirai chose to level up her rouge class twice and the support mage class once, which cost her almost 2000 points of experience and that speed of advancement was monstrous! And it's only been 5 days since she entered the dungeon!

But what causes Mirai to be so happy was her skill levels going up like crazy. Even without her adding general experience to level them up except for the rejuvenation, born from blades and ambidexterity which she used up the remaining general experience reward from killing the pursuer.

"System explain what happened with my skill." Mirai commanded on her mind.

"Game limitations was lifted, user can increase skill levels with continuous usage of the skill like a normal adventure does. Player can still upgrade a skill normally by general exp points. Passive skills upgrades 20% slower than active skills." A monotonous voice answered inside her mind.

Sweet! No wonder why clandestine reached that level without me upgrading it.

Making sure everything was good and her headache from the space warp dissipates. Mirai tighten her grip on her blades and burst out from her hiding spot.

At the center of the cavern a mighty white furred tiger stood up sensing the imminent danger that was approaching. Pair of calm pearl white eyes gazed from where the sound of the rushing steps came from. The tiger itself was seven foot tall and ten foot long excluding it's delicate white furred tail tainted black from it's tip. The moment it saw a silhouette approaching from a far, bulging muscles was tensed up from it's shining like white fur complimented by rune like black patches through out. The legs of the tiger posed a defensive stance, upon closer inspection, steel like claws were rooted on the dirt ground ready to pounce and engage it's prey.

Wraaaaaaaaar!

The White Sabertooth let out a battle cry showing it's collection of saw like teeth and a pair of 7 inch long canines fortified by some translucent strengthening magic.

The war cry reached the bursting Mirai from the other side.

"Even the monsters manage to wield magic huh? But not today kitty!"

Mirai stretches her hands on both sides like a crane, when she reach 50 feet close to the White Sabertooth the tiger pounced on to Mirai like a cat catching mice!

But what the mice did surprised the big cat, Mirai pounced together engaging the white sabertooth but she twisted on mid air, spraying some liquid from the right blade on his hand, the sabertooth was startled! But Mirai executed the attack at the perfect timing were the white sabertooth's eyes was so focused to her!

The white sabertooth fell on the ground the moment it's eyes was hit by the greenish liquid from Mirai's stinger and keep struggling in the ground brushing it's face with the paws.

"You fought along side me for almost who knows how many times, It'll be a disrespect if I, your master from my past life can't defeat you on your mere level 6 self."

Mirai was pertaining to her tamed monster from the game. It was a white sabertooth from this very exact floor. Nostalgia flashes from Mirai's heart. But for the moment she needs to capsized the mini-boss before her!

Raid!

Mirai stabbed and slashed countless times to get through the white sabertooth's fur before managing to hit all of its limbs making it incapacitated for fighting. Mirai then took out a small parchment she bought from the Blue Moss Village on her storage ring.

Soul Contract!

"Now kitty, time to have some negotiations." Mirai chuckled

Mirai was not planning to kill this monster, before hand she already modified the poison from her stinger diluting some more water and some juice from a citrus fruit she found along the way.

The white sabertooth posses only a level 6 strength of a first ranker, a novice soul contract will suffice to tame the poor tiger lying on the ground.

Mirai started to chant an incantation written from the parchment, she felt weird speaking a different language but she knows it was the system helping her to decipher that unknown language.

"Soul connect!" Mirai ended the incantation, a visible ribbon of light was formed from her hand to the poor white sabertooth's forehead, after a couple of second later the light faded and a calm voice of a man sounded within Mirai's head.

"You are worthy to be my master, thank you for your grace and mercy."

It was the white sabertooth's voice, burst of nostalgia flowed to Mirai's mind, even the voice of the white sabertooth was identical to her pet from the game!

"From now on your name would be Tyre." It was the name of her former pet. After Mirai given a name to the white sabertooth, white light envelops the whole body of the wounded beast, the light then was transferred to the back of Mirai left hand and formed a black patch in a form of a tribal sabertooth tiger that looks like a simple tattoo on a glance, but it was the soul imprint of Tyre.

With the soul imprint, Mirai can now summon Tyre anytime and call him whenever Tyre is wounded or needed to rest.

Mirai caress her left hand. Now, now, now.. Time to finish those quest!

"Player successfully bounded a monster's soul!"

Reward: 1000 General Exp

"Successfully synced with Tyre's soul!"

Monotonous voice from the system notification made the smile on Mirai's face even brighter.

"One last run!" Mirai burst back from where she entered the 20th floor.

After a second Mirai found herself back on the dense forest at the mouth of the Serpent Queen's Lair.

"Time to wipe those leftovers!" Mirai re-entered the dungeon holding both of her daggers from both sides.

"Grinding time!" She roared before disappearing from thin air.
