Chapter 11 - The Battle Under the Moon (1/3)

Milda and Mirai went to meet with Jil at the entrance of the slum area, in there Jil was more terribly afraid, she was there witnessing not a silent killing but a gore one sided fight between the drows and the humans. She instantly felt relieved the moment she saw Mirai and Milda.

The three of them started to move onwards to the borders of the empire. It was a small empire and traversing from their place to escape wouldn't be much of a problem unless they meet an enemy on the way.

But the thing is Mirai knows exactly the formation planned by the dark elves. From the game, right after the eclipse took part the warring horn from the Ruby Castle started to signal the troops to fought back. It took quite sometime for them to assemble for the reason that those big shots from the castle was assassinated not even before the eclipse. The main force of the dark elves would be on the fore front of the empire wall gates. Drows was so full of themselves after ensuring that the assassination beforehand would be enough to annihilate the Ruby Empire so they choose to fight head on. But they have the strength to do so and later on wipe out the empire except for some brave warriors like Leon, a commoner who was promoted to be the general of the Ruby Empire. He was not assassinated from the early attack of the drows and manage to delay the fall of the Empire giving way for some ordinary people and some coward warriors to flew from being extinct.

It was 20:20 o'clock. The moon was at it's fullest, one can found this scene very beautiful but staring on the moon for too long gives off an eerie feeling. The shadow of the planet Sigma started to cast on the surface of the moon.

Behold the eclipse!

Loud war cries roared outside the wall. It was the dark elves declaring war against the small trade empire of Ruby. The whole empire shook from the sudden roar, those that are still living and breathing suddenly felt the chill running down from their spine, their instincts told them to flee as far as possible from this seemingly god forsaken empire. Numerous corpses, scream, scent of blood and other kind of noises filled the whole empire.

A silhouette of a bulky man stood from the top of the wall, unfazed in front of the dark elves' march, on his hands he held a horn. Behind him were a thousand men certain for their death, but if their death would lead some of their own men to live then death would be an honor, their face shows only fortitude!

General Leon and the Ruby Warriors!

Woooooooo!

A lound and long horn came above of the walls. The war horn signals the start of the eclipse war.

From the game, this war was just a dent on the world glass. But made a realization for every race that Luna's reign have ended and their kinsman was the one needed to rule over other nation and race and no Luna would be there to punish them.

This massacre gave one of the first wave of headache for the players! After Luna's death and this drow's attack, other nations and races was triggered to ambush and eradicate other territories and obviously some tried to overtake some player's territory, some even succeeded to bring down a whole empire founded by a player.

Every people on the empire instinctively look to the east where the sound of a horn came from, everyone knows it was their own warriors trying to fight off from the invaders.

So as Mirai, Milda and Jil. They all look back keeping their thoughts on their self and started running off again.

"Would they be okay?" It was Jil, trying to break the silence from the three of them.

"No, they will all die that is certain." Mirai didn't hold back her words, everyone knows that the early assassination inside the capital was enough for the whole empire to be crippled let alone an attack that overwhelms the whole army of Ruby.

Milda kept herself silent throughout the whole journey. Mirai was afraid that they need to go the small town next to Ruby empire. She was afraid that the pursuers might still be hunting them since she doesn't have the time to wipe their tracks from Morsé's body. Though, it'll be hard for the assassins to locate them since it was not only Mirai and her company was escaping, every citizens that are lucky to run keeps fleeing at the exit on the slum area.

The next town was not much far from the empire, it was the Blue Moss town, south of Ruby. The town itself was small but guarded by the town chief whose a Rank 3 expert. The details about that person was meager since Mirai didn't stay long on the village.

The moment Mirai step her foot outside the city walls notification about the first main quest popped.

Quest: Escape, Completed!

Reward: 100 General Experience, Class advancement, received!

Do you want to start the advancement?

"Hell yeah!"

Milda and Jil stared at Mirai with a very confused look.

Mirai quickly gather herself from excitement and explained out "uh.. I mean yes, were finally out of that hell hole. Look, there up ahead!" She pointed out south where a small tower can be seen not so far ahead. About a a mile and a half ahead. The road up a head was clear out of trees and wide, since it was a trade road used to transport goods.

She was happy that the quest would be completed the moment she step outside the empire, she clearly remembers that one player needed to be a mile away from the empire to complete the quest. But what surprises her more was those advancement cards appeared on her vision and a simple note at the bottom.

Game limitations have been lifted...

Player can now choose an advancement...

But that smile on her face suddenly banished when a she saw a silhouette pass on the corner of her eyes.

"Jil, help mother to run, do it as fast as you could. I'll catch up!"

Mirai gripped on her blood weeper she ran with Jil and Milda but was ready to be left behind anytime.

It was the pursuer sent by Murdock, that tricky bastard! Good thing it is only one, I guess they tried to split from each other to look for me. Underestimating me too much huh? Mirai kept her thoughts on herself focusing on the surrounding and a part of that concentration was on her mind, trying to figure out the message sent by the system.
