Chapter 62 - Janitor's Closet

The school bell rang, and as it did Asrael stood up at his desk. The rest of the class was also up and about, yelling, talking, whispering, but it all sounded like white noise to him. Two days ago, when he came to school in a onesie, he didn't think he would ever live it down. Little did he realize how short the attention span of a highschooler was. As he left the classroom and made his way down the hallway, his thoughts drifted towards Chrysa, and the way she laughed yet didn't seem to mock him. She had asked if it was a family thing, so he explained the modified version of how they weren't actually a family. He of course washed the eyeliner off before she could see it.

The way he thought of her started to turn dangerous, so he would have to hurry up and dispose of her. 'Dispose', the word didn't sound right, and it make his chest feel stuffy. That was dangerous, and he wasn't ignorant to the feeling she brought out in him. It hadn't actually happened before, usually he would grow only despise for such people. What was the reason he hated them so much? He hated reminders of 'her'. Chrysanthemum had her name, and her blonde hair.

He paused in his steps, Chrysa was in front of him although she had yet to notice him. She wasn't smiling or laughing like usual, as there was some tall guy leaning toward her and talking. He had on a harmless smile, but being the nice girl Chrysa was she couldn't tell him his breath stank. Though, Asrael could only see that she was uncomfortable, and against his wishes, he burned with rage for the guy next to her.

He was conflicted, if he stood up for her it would fall in line with his plans, and he really wanted to, yet he somehow felt that he shouldn't. Fortunately, the guy had something he had to go do, as he left. However, Asrael wasn't calmed down even a bit, on the surface, he smiled and nodded at Chrysa in acknowledgement when she saw him, while his inner turmoil forced him to continue walking forward, behind the tall guy with bad breath.

Chrysa was curious as she watched him walked away, a little disappointed at being overlooked. She didn't know about the murderous thoughts that Asrael tried to hold in while staring at the back of a teen who just pissed him off. When they turned a corner, Asrael pushed him into a janitor's closet and shut the door behind him.

"Dude, what are you doing?" On the floor, the guy looked up at Asrael, and although at first he seemed amused, he quickly felt fearful.

Asrael was fast to hold a knife to his throat, with one hand covering his mouth. He looked at his next victim who was panicked, yet still had some idea that it was just a sick joke.

Despite being told not to bring an weapons to school, Asrael couldn't help it. With a move of his wrist, his victim realized that Asrael wasn't kidding.

Blood trickled from his neck, and Asrael watched with a smirk as the life escaped from the teenage boy's eyes. He waited until the floor of the closet was a pool of blood, and then he stood up. It wasn't convenient to leave however, as the other students in the hallway had probably seen them go in.

Asrael hated cleaning up the aftermath, but he couldn't simply shrug his shoulders and leave. It was too late for regret, so without a second thought he got to work.

By the time he left the room, the hallway was almost empty, and sooner or later, a janitor might expose him. It wasn't wise to spend too much time in there, so he left the body to be found. Getting rid of the evidence that would link it to him was the best he could do.
