-Meanwhile a few minutes ago at the earth testing grounds-
" Why isn't he out of the system yet?, He should have been out in the blink of an eye, " Lady Yu asked the elder Ent.
" I am not so sure, there seems to be a malfunction, I noticed a change in his soul and now I have lost communication! " the Ent spoke solemnly.
Suddenly a guard wearing a white mask over their face rushed over while gasping for breath.
" Not good! The.. Huff huff... The principal is calling for you Lady Yu, the head of the Aikyo house is here for his son! Apparently, there is an emergency." the young guard said.
" Hmph, well I will be down in a moment, Elder Ent could you be so kind to look after the boy while I get his father here." Lady Yu said calmly.
Lady Yu looked over to see Yuki still with his hand on the globe with a strained look on his face, the globe was shining with a bright green and brown glow.
The Ents leaves shifted as they began to shed. Falling from the sky like sakura blossoms, it would have been a truly beautiful site if the people in the room were not so panicked.
As the leaves fell, the tree seemed to shrink in size, a green light glowed as a dragon made of wood appeared in the place of what was once a tree. Each scale was either made out of a dark green wood or a polished stone. Sharp fangs made of black metal and menacing green and black slitted eyes.
Its breath was pure earth energy and it gave off a terrifying aura.
" Elder's true form!! " The young guard said in shock, moving several steps back in fright.
" Hush sapling! This old one must concentrate!" The Ent snapped in response.
Lady Yu grabbed the shocked guard, who had been frozen with fright, by the ear and led him out of the room.
The Ent who was at least the size of a large house approached Yuki before wrapping his tail around the podium and breaking it. Yuki and the sphere in his hand were unharmed and the sphere still glowed in the aftermath.
There was rubble left in the Ents wake as he took Yuki back to the centre of the room via being curled in his tail. Where the tree had once been standing, there was a giant seal etched into the earth with signs of decimation from the Ents transformation.
The Ent in the form of a mighty dragon curled up on the seal. The seal which looked like a tree with runes carved on the compass positions engulfed the pair. It started to release a hazy brown light.
The Ent closed its eyes.
Whoosh!
The dirt and leaves began to spring into the air and wrap around the duo as they sat in what could only be described as the eye of the storm.
The Ent opened its massive eyes as it shouted " Found him! ".
A small brown ball escaped the chest of the ent and landed inside the chest of Yuki, his breathing had slowed down from panicked and unstable to calm easy breaths.
The wind had died down and the leaves had scattered when Yuki's father entered the room carrying Kibbles who seemed to be sleeping. Next to him was the Principal as well as Lady Yu who stood respectfully behind.
"My son! Where is my son!?" The man of war said after looking at the mess in the chamber.
" Quiet sapling, I am tired. Your son is fine" huffed the Ent.
" Hmph! Don't quiet me dragon! " said Tenma with an annoyed tone.
" You two, please.. A little calm. What has happened? " Principal Wei said with a slightly raised eyebrow.
The Ent looked around and stopped at the little creature in Tenma's arms.
" Bring the Kithun here." The Ent said in a low windy tone.
Tenma had not even the slightest fear toward the beast in front of him.
He strode over to the beast in large steps without even the slightest falter.
" Go place it next to your cub near my tail," The Ent said with a slight huff. Green smoke came out of its nostrils.
Tenma walked over, his eyes seemed to glaze over a little as he saw his son sleeping amongst the dragons coiled tail.
" Is he going to be okay? " Yuki's father said with a strained voice.
As Tenma saw the sleeping boy, he gently laid the sleeping Kibbles next to him. He brushed off a little of the dirt on his face before he gently swept back some of the hair that had been brushed onto Yuki's face by the wind.
Temna stood crouching next to his son for a few moments before sighing.
" Yuki…" he said gently.
Yuki's father looked over to Lady Yu as well as Principal Wei and spoke " Could one of you please tell me what is going on. Yuki's familiar is unresponsive, Yuki is unresponsive and the Earth training grounds is a mess. I thought you said that this was not dangerous." Tenma said with each word filling with more and more anger.
The Ent sat up a little, its long neck curved till his eye was staring at Tenma as it dwarfed him. The Ents head alone was three times the size of the fully grown Tenma.
" Calm down little one, your son is fine. It seems the jolt felt earlier was because these two have a soul bond and it has caused issues with the system. The system is built to look after one soul and not two, so there has been some difficulties. I have left a piece of my essence inside the system to support him." The Ent said calmly as it blinked and stared at Tenma.
" Lady Yu, I need some paper, can you please send a letter on my behalf to his majesty," Tenma said after some thought.
Lady Yu came back a few moments later with the guard from earlier, he was carrying a quill some ink and some paper.
" How long will Yuki be unconscious?" Tenma said sternly.
" Unknown, most likely a day at most." The principal said in thought.
Tenma scribbled down some words on the paper using the dragon's tail as a desk. It was quite rude but everyone including the Ent ignored it.
"Give this to the soldiers outside, make sure no one reads it," Tenma said as he folded the paper and made a seal with his blood and a hint of fire magic.
" Understood! " the guard said as he grabbed the paper and ran like his life depended on it.
" Will you be delaying your deployment to the border Sir Aikyo? " The Principle said in thought.
" I am asking for the emperor's permission to do so, however, the royal decree is a royal decree, I at least wanted to hug my son before I left…" Tenma said in response.
" Understood, We will send a runner to your house to collect your wife while you wait for an answer," The principal said as he motioned to Yu.
Yu seemed to be slightly aggrieved being used as a busboy but she merely shrugged as she left.
She took the hint quickly.
Tenma stood up dejected in full military regalia, his armour shone basking in the light of the false star. He walked up to a non-damaged pedestal and took a seat, his gaze locked between the dragon and his son before he held his head in his hands.
" A man just wants his son to grow up strong, without worry.. My son who was weak since birth has had nothing but pain and tragedy since he was small. How can I dare call myself a father?" Tenma said.
" Do not blame yourself, it is not your fault. How could you have known about his soul bond with that Kithun over there? As for the boy's heart… and Vance's movements how could you have stopped either from happening?" The principal said swiftly.
The Principal walked up to the man who seemed to be shouldering an immense burden and merely tapped him on the shoulder after he crouched down to his level.
" I have known your father for a long time as I too watched you grow. You were such as rascal in my class and now a fine man has grown and raised his own child. You should be proud of yourself. Yuki from what I have seen is a fine young man" Wu stated in a caring tone.
" Mm, I will wait for my wife and the decision of the emperor. I hope as Elder guardian said, my son will truly be safe" Tenma replied looking at the principal.
" All we can do is wait." Wu said in response.
* Yuki's point of view *
Slash!
Kick!
Dodge!
I was trying my best to hold back as many wolves as I can, somehow in my injured state, I managed to knock down three who were passed out unconscious on the floor. Two were left staring at me and growling.
I was so tired I could barely lift my arms, the stick in my hand had broken and I only had small rocks left.
" A little help from you too would be nice! " I grumbled between inhaling more air.
" Meowster I can't fight like this! " Kibbles responded still in the tree.
The little lizard sitting on top of my head sailed down like a sugar glider and landed on one of the wolves, momentarily blinding it.
" Chance! " I shouted as I pumped myself up.
I stabbed the sharp rock in the wolf's side, it whimpered before stepping backwards. Red blood dripping from its rib.
The little lizard thing then jumped off and the remaining two wolves ran away. I called Kibbles down from the tree and with no time to spare we headed off to find a safe space.
The lizard watched as Kibbles and I went to leave and jumped on Kibbles head making a nest in his hair.
" You stupid thing! I will eat you!" Kibbles growled.
" It was more useful than you were!" I grumbled back.
" Meowster!!" Kibbles said with hurt reflected in his tone.
I had no time to think about his feelings as the lizard, Kibbles and myself had all dashed forward to find a place to rest.
I stared back at the destruction behind us and sighed.
[ Can't I get a break!? ]
