Scathach investigated our new Stat. Her face was expressionless.
"How it is?" Lux asked with anticipation.
Scathach point at all of us in an incriminating manners.
"You guys are cheaters." Scathach complained. "All of you are basically qualifies as prodigies. Lux and Rem could go and lead any squad easily with this stat, while Cytortia's stats was at least expect from someone who had experience with Nu Wa, her skills collection was simply absurd."
"Yep, I got it too," I said. "But this was not enough."
"What would be enough for you?" Scathach said. "Are you planning to take over the world?"
"No, it's worse. Let set an example from one of the worse cynical experience I ever heard. If a foreign queen tried bargain for peace treaty with a demon, only to be pick up to use as blunt weapon by said invincible demon, I want the power to know instantly what is happening, teleport there in a blink, rescue her by using at least sixty methods to spare, beat the demon up, teleport to talk a kid from another side of the country from suicide and teleport back toward the war zone to clean the lose end."
A solid paused for solid minute. I believed they finally worked out I was serious.
"You, my boy, are certainly insane," Scathach said laughing madly. "You need to be more than a god to do that?"
"I know but it a wish," I said. "An impossible to fulfill wish of the ultimate savior. An invincible hero who could some how understand all in the world and save it. Of course for such a person, or group, to exist was impossible but human always dream of the impossible. That was how we learn how to fly. That was how we created penicillin. The only thing cynicism created is pain. But from those dream was born the power to save the world. Impossible is something to be broken."
All of them looked at me.
"You are insane but you certainly not wrong." Lux admitted.
"Yeah, let do the impossible." Cy said. "But first off we got a pill to sell."
...
Hyper Channel station was unlike anything I had ever seen in Phantasia. It was for one futuristic. The road was paved with white ceramic and a grand station looked like a much more advance version of Sydney opera house with a beautiful sea view and massive glowing rail running across the horizon. Together with that nice clear sky it would made a great place for vacation.
Oh yeah, there were also shopping center. Cy was so excited that she dragged Lux into a shopping spree. While I never understand what did people see during sale, it also had to be taken into account that Lux barely have a wardrobe of her own. So for once in a long time Cy had a point.
So this left me and Scathach to procured the supplies.
"Let hope the Northern Flower Pills actually sold," I said paying for half-year supplies of flour and canned food. "Or else we would had to exited the Hyper Channel inside our underwear."
Scathach finally finished checking the meat.
"It would," Scathach said. "Hyper Channel station was a huge place to gather multiple customers from the Grand Empire in the South. That empire had a history for famous noble systems and there are nothing they loved more than showing their wealth except showing of how high in the society they are. They are going to snap up that pill in the auction."
Wow, now that I think about it I never thought about the auction before. Or the Grand Empire for that manner. So far I assumed that they are stereotypical empire.
"So what with this Grand Empire you are talking about."
"To explain simply, in this continent the elves rule the North and the Grand Empire rule the South. While the North was governed by the Elves Lords, the grand Empire's administration was a massive political structure which contain its own Royal families and a parliament of nobles. The Empire represented one of the most prosperous faction in Phantasia with many alliance across all continents. In my opinion this empire had the least history of bad blood compare to our neighbor."
"I see," Rem said. "But there are still infighting right?"
"Rem, as long as there are someone who wanted more, there will always be infighting," Scathach looked over the view of the Ocean. "And whenever there are a fight. There will always be loss and misery."
"Not if I am powerful enough to stop the fight." I said looking over the dawn. "I was never surprised at the depth all of us could sink through but hearing that plea for help. Those broken people without hope...I think it broke me a little and I will do anything to I unbroke it."
"Good luck, you had to fight the entire world without killing anyone. Even gods couldn't do that."
"Yes, but in the world with mana and magic anything is possible if you believe and try hard enough to archive it." Rem said. "Given that world enemy existed fighting each other was outright stupid."
"Well, that was a notion for the future."
I took sometime to wonder exactly what I was doing here. In a blind twist of fate, here I was shopping with a mythological figure instead of listening to my...friend.
Yeah, that was a mystery wasn't it. I never had any real friends. We were to different. My peers often gossips about movies, other people relationship and social opinion. I never understand it. I like talking about movies because I find the intention and the execution of each scene beautiful. The complexity of the character and how both director and actor captured it. Partly, the reason that I hate Micheal Bay. Could it be I never care about human? No.
It would likely be the fact that I care too much. That I felt too sorry for them. More sorry than the faceless crowd who brushed its aside for some selective self-imposed blindness. I felt the beauty in the ideal and its sickened me when something so just and right fail. That was likely the power the attracted Satholia to me and the power that kept me here. Cy was one god who actually display empathy toward the unjust.
She was not allow to fail--reality be damn.
"Rem looked at this?" Cy voice echoed behind us. "What do you think about my makeover? It tank abit of our fund but I think I got enough to replace Lux's wardrobe."
Oh yeah, Lucian kicked her out with only the cloth on her back. Lux said that several sympathetic houses did give her supplies but she had to outgrown her old clothing during the recent years.
I turned toward the goddess in a green sundress holding several bags that was without a doubt filled to the brimmed with clothes. Behind her was an elf that had experience a complete makeover.
Lux's hair that originally needed serious treatment was redone from the ground up into a smooth silk mane fanning both of her pointed ears and, from what I guess was Cy's decision, and golden metallic highlight was dyed as a stripe down one side of her hairs. Oh did, I forget her newest yellow cotton jacket, white blouse and stylishly selected black jeans. Did Cy selected all of this? For someone who had no talent when it came to dressing herself, she was truly competent at dressing other.
Lux was bright red.
"Wha-What," she stuttered refusing my eyes. "This is not my idea. I know we are under budget but Cy insisted so I..."
"It looked good on you," I said cutting her off. "Especially the jacket. Now let go to the auction."
She turned further red. I elected to ignore the blatant flag pointing in my direction.
"Rem you dolt," Cy said irritatingly. "The auction was at least an hour so let enjoy this break as much as possible."
And we did. Cy litterally dragged us all over the complex for a sight seeing spree. I never really care about tourism. Personally, I hate traveling but, strangely, looking into the glittering eyes of the girl who was fascinated with the ocean she never really seen until that moment and listening to a goddess a head shorter than me explaining about the properties of different species of fishes really bring some part of me I never knew exist up. The image of a badger fishing over the ocean was also truly a sight of wonder.
Among the sea of shattering tourist, getting dragged over that annoying goddess was somehow getting more and more acceptable with every minute. Hell, I even found myself arguing about the taste of ice cream with the goddess. How could something call Eastern Plain Chocolate beat Vanilla? Despite, my logic the goddess didn't back down and the elves was too busily looking over all the flavors with starry eyes to back either of us up. Given the situation I kinda felt sorry for Scathach.
That day was the first day I feel truly happy.
